Authentic Log Cabin: The Den

Secluded and Rustic authentic Log Cabin sits on 4 acres of peace and quiet. You will feel like you are being transported to a place back in time but with the modern conveniences of electricity and in-door plumbing. The cabin consists of an open main floor with a kitchenette, 3/4 bath and living room area. The bedroom has a queen bed and a twin bed and these are nestled in the loft.
The deck over looks the praire and the bon fire pit. There are short trails for walking. The nearest house is 1/2 mile down the road. New Ulm and St Peter are short drives. This property is seasonal. The only source of heat is the wood burning stove on the main floor. There are two window AC units to keep comfortable if it is hot out.

Great pet friendly place to stay near Mankato close and close to some nice state parks for hiking. A lovely rustic setting provided a much needed getaway for the weekend.

Nice old cabin

Cool place to stay if you want to get away for a weekend. We played corn hole and had the fire pit going. The bed was nice and comfortable.

Meditation Retreat

We had an amazing time using the cabin as a home base for a meditation retreat! The cozy cabin was warm and welcoming, and the nature setting was absolutely perfect to relax and be in the moment. There were several beautiful spots to explore and the trees were unbelievable will absolutely be staying again!

It was easy to check in, the owner is quick to reply. The Den is in a lovely setting, you would not know you were in the middle of farm country. Green, lush and very quiet. The interior is charming and very comfortable. Would stay again, love to see it in different seasons!

It has been a stressful couple years and we were looking for a private place to unwind with our fur babies. This place really stood out. No internet. No television. Beautiful property. We were in love with the rustic historical cabin. I am giving 4 stars instead of 5 for these reasons. There is no stove/oven. I really like to cook and bake. lol. The stairs to the sleeping loft are a bit scary to go down in the middle of the night. And probably the biggest problem was mice. Of course there were mice. It is located on prairie land. It is an old cabin. But it drove my husky nuts. If you know anything about Siberian huskys you know they have a high prey drive. She hunted all night long. First night she caught one. My husband took it from her. It was still alive. Put it outside. The next morning we got up to 5 dead mice. Thank goodness she didn’t eat them. We ended up leaving a day early. I really don’t want to be that person. We loved the cabin, the peace and quiet. It was clean. I had fun using the black stone griddle. Now I want one. I hope this is helpful.

We loved the property and the rustic old cabin is very cool & comfortable. So many birds to listen to in the mornings, tons of fireflies at night. Our dog loved being able to check out the walking paths with us off leash. We would love to come back another time if we’re in the area.

Picturesque spot in the country

Happy I stayed here on my business trip, even with the drive to town. Well kept property and very cozy little cabin. Great host that takes the time to make sure everything is setup properly. Rustic and minimal amenities, but that's what I was after.

Quiet and secluded.

It was what we expected in the cabin but the property was nicer and more remote than we expected which was nice. It would be a nice place to stay with a family if the kids were willing to camp outside. We would stay. There again.
