Good fishing

Nice cozy house perfect for families. Good fishing, marina is close for any needs you might have. House was stocked with everything for the kitchen, beach towels and toys. Enjoyed our stay.

Amazing house!

We loved the house! Everything about it. We fished off the deck and caught so many fish and even some crab and a stingray! The back bar and deck area was our favorite hang out spot!

The property had everything we needed. My grandson loved the crab traps. The only things missing were a ladder to get out of the water and maybe a kayak.

Shared from the homeowner: "Thank you Ryan for staying with us. Our guests' comfort is always important to us, and I am sorry for the inconveniences you had during your stay. We checked the low water pressure and found that the main water valve to the house had been turned to the half position. We are not sure how this happened, but we have checked the pressure and opened the valve to the correct pressure level upon this review. WiFi outages have been a problem in our area. It has been very inconvenient for guests, and us as well, and our provider let us know that they are in the process of replacing the fiber-optic lines in our area. We are sorry for these inconveniences and hope that you will stay with us again in the future."

All I hoped for and more

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay, only issue I had was the stay was not long enough!! The house and tiki bar is much nicer in person, our favorite was the Tiki Bar, hands down the coolest out of every house we’ve stayed in through VRBO, we started going through VRBO since it was Homeaway.com, we’ve yet to have a bad experience with any of the homes and host!! I HIGHLY recommend this beach house if your looking for a quiet, clean and relaxing get away, we lacked nothing!! The host was very professional, and responded immediately to any of my questions!! We will DEFINITELY be staying there again!! Also, the outdoor shower was awesome!!

Excellent Vacation Rental in Isla de Sol/Jamaica Beach

Great vacation home on a canal in West Galveston. We caught a total of 15 fish from deck (only one keeper Trout but at least it was fun!). Was very clean and had everything we needed in kitchen to cook dinner every night. Has a full frig downstairs for easy access to ice, drinks and snacks. The deep jet tub worked great. The home is on the same street from the West End Marina with a store, live bait shop, and marine fuel (but you do have to go to Jamaica Beach or San Luis pass to launch boat- the boat ramp and fishing pier is off limits to vacation rentals and only for residents) not to mention to-go Rita's!!!

Do not stay if rain is in forcast!!

Downstairs flooded due to Tropical storm Alberto. It was flooded in bar area all the way up to where are cars were parked. We got shocked unplugging refrigerator, washer and dryer. We were told to pull all furniture up before flood. Which who wants to continue to take care of a place your staying at on vacation?! I felt like someone should of been there to take care of everything and we were left to figure it out and clean up the mess ans take care of the house. Downstairs stinks terribly!!!! Dock was falling apart, unsafe for children. Upstairs was good. Needs to be updated.

However, after sharing your feedback with the owner we feel compelled to clarify certain points mentioned in your review: -We are sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced during your stay due to Tropical Storm Alberto. The homeowner advised you ahead of time about the potential for high water and flooding in the area, as the entire neighborhood was affected by this storm. We appreciate your cooperation in moving the lightweight patio chairs as a precautionary measure to protect your belongings and prevent any items from being pulled into the canal during the storm. Please note that we did not anticipate the heavy patio table or heavier wood furniture would be moved. Your efforts were truly appreciated. We understand that when the owner checked in with you, you mentioned that you were okay and wanted to ride it out. -We understand your frustration with managing the situation while on vacation, and we did our best to address the issues as quickly as possible. Our maintenance team was dispatched as soon as the flooding receded so he could evaluate the area, and we advised against using appliances in the affected area for safety reasons. -Regarding the canal deck, it was in good condition before the storm. The heavy currents during the storm caused damage underneath the deck, which was not visible until the water receded. We promptly replaced the deck after inspecting everything following your checkout. We take the safety and comfort of our guests very seriously and always strive to provide a safe environment. We appreciate your understanding and hope to have the opportunity to host you again under better circumstances.

Wouldn't Stay Again

Lots of issues; roaches, cleanliness upon arrival was not up to standards, light bulbs out, jacuzzi tub did not work at all(very disappointing), upstairs decking was dangerous, door knob stripped. Second bathroom is downstairs secluded, limited supplies despite what was listed. The house needs a lot of work/upkeep. Unfortunately wouldn't stay here again :(

Hi Claire, the homeowner would like to share the following: I am so very sorry for any problems you had during your stay as we are always looking to make our house comfortable for our guests. - I have since addressed all housekeeping problems mentioned with our agency. I am very sorry essential supplies were not met. - Our home is on the canal and with that, we do get water bugs and roaches. We spray for insects, but with the two hurricanes back-to-back it seems to be more of a problem. We have sprayed again as of review. - We do keep one towel set-up in the downstairs bathroom. I am very sorry these were not available for you and this has been addressed with the housekeepers. -We were unaware there was a problem with the jacuzzi tub and repairs have been made as of this review. - The pandemic has halted our plans to re-do the upstairs decking, which we plan to do this month. I apologize that this was not mentioned in your Welcome Letter. Thanks for taking the time to write your review, I would invite you to give us another try in the future.

My stay was amazing. Everything was clean and welcoming. I enjoyed the deck with the relaxing view. The owner was very nice and keep the line of communication open. Great place for a get away!

Great place for a family get away. nice spot under the house for kicking back and relaxing after a long day on the beach. There was access for a boat if you should bring one . Accommodations were great. This is a great possibility for us in the future when we decide to go back to Galveston.

Great house close to the beach!

My family of 4 rented this property as it was in the same neighborhood our friends were staying in. The house is very spacious, beds are comfy, lots of seating areas. Patios were great, place for a boat in the water if you had one. Used the crab traps off the deck and caught one. We fished a lot off the deck. Great time, peaceful and quiet.

We had a wonderful time here. Launched our kayaks, went fishing, went swimming and lounged on our rafts in the canal. The community is nice and the neighbors very friendly.
