Welcome to King's River Cabin, a beautifully appointed log home nestled along the scenic Oconaluftee River. This two-bedroom, two-bathroom retreat offers an idyllic setting just minutes from both Downtown Cherokee and Downtown Bryson City. The thoughtfully designed layout features separate living spaces within the main residence and a private in-law suite above the garage, providing an ideal arrangement for couples seeking privacy or friends and families desiring ample space to connect.

King's River Cabin is the perfect getaway for outdoor enthusiasts, particularly anglers and nature lovers. Conveniently located within 15 minutes of both the Deep Creek and Cherokee entrances to Great Smoky Mountains National Park, guests can easily explore the park's natural wonders. Enjoy the diverse shops and attractions of Cherokee and Bryson City before returning to the cabin to unwind on the screened-in porch, where tranquil views of the Oconaluftee River provide a serene backdrop for relaxation.

Downtown Bryson City has an elevation of 1,752 feet, so think of this as a starting point. The majority of our cabins will have a higher elevation than this. This means that our roads- both state and private- will be steeper, narrower, and curvier than you may be use to driving. Also, you should expect to encounter gravel roads. Consider it part of our rural mountain charm!

Not as expected

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The two bedrooms mentioned aren't in the same area. This place is more like 2 separate apartments. The main level is smaller than it looks in the pictures. The kitchen is very cramped. The coffee maker is an OLD drip coffee maker. The wall sockets on the wall the fridge is on, didn't work. The flatware was very random and OLD. I'm 5'1" tall and the microwave was above my head! The bathroom is tiny and when you pull the thing on the faucet in the tub to operate the shower, most of the water still pours out of the faucet causing very poor water pressure. To get to the other "bedroom", you have to go out the front door and unlock the garage door that is to the right. The upstairs area is adorable and cozy,though. The bathroom was a nice size but has a sloped ceiling. My husband who is 6'3" would bump his head when he was in there. There is baseboard heating. The bathroom one works slightly. The main area one didn't work at all. There was a very cute space heater that looked like an iron fireplace. It did not get it very warm up there when the temperature got in the low 40s. It was nice being next to the river, but that isn't enough to being us back.

Coffee pot rusted, cabin needs good cleaning inside and outside had spiderwebs all over it, live roach was seen in bathroom, a very rough driveway pull off, flooring had lot of places needing repairs, hvac very loud, and a perk would have been furnished firepit wood bundle. The cabin was adequate size, nicely equipped, and comfortable.

Not happy

Had to clean coils on downstairs cabin, a/c not working very well. Place was not very clean, but we enjoyed our time. After cleaning unit it worked great. Great location

Property could use some TLC porch Screens had holes in them and was full of cobwebs and spiders had to clean and spray for bugs could not use chairs until I cleaned them handles on pans loose I tightened most of them up and carpet in king room smells like pet urine with a lot of stains had to spray carpet deodorizer property management was notified. It's a great location lots of room view is awesome fishing was ok we had a good time enjoyed the morning coffee and afternoons on the porch nice and relaxing and quiet. Thanks for the hospitality and letting us rent the cabin

This is a very safe place to bring your pups for a vacation. The close proximity to the river is fantastic as well. We did not use the upper bedroom, but it is very beautiful. This cabin was amazing. Close to Cherokee NC and Bryson City. Lots of fun things to do. It's right next to the river. The dam is a short walk up the dirt road. People tubing and kayaking down from the dam. Perfect for fishing and pets too. We even saw two beautiful breathe taking Elk. Priceless memories!!!

Do not rent without reading this

You must go outside, around to the back and up the stairs to get to it. Two couples, no problem. A family....your children will be far away.

A little disappointed

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The picture of the cabin is deceiving. This is NOT the whole space you are paying for. It is a "duplex" style set-up, and only the "bottom" right of the cabin was the space included. One bedroom/ One Bathroom. Luckily no one else was staying in the other part of the house/ cabin during our stay, so we at least had the place to ourselves. The space between neighboring properties is also deceiving. No "seclusion" at this cabin... There was no propane to use the fireplace, the grill worked, but was clearly on its last leg and the cabin was filled with cobwebs, both visible and hiding in the cabinets with the dishes. Make sure you wash what you plan to use first. Being directly on the river is what sold us, and glad we had the water feature to make up for the other disappointments.

Reviewer Comments: We reserved thru VRBO and all communication prior to day of stay came through VRBO however final day check in info came thru the property MGMT company and went to my trash/spam file so I didn't get the check in info. Once I got into the cabin I only saw 1 bed and 1 bath so I had to call back into the emergency line to get directions on how to get to the other room and bathroom. You have to go thru the garage. I would have expected some welcome book to let you know but that wasn't the case. However after those few hiccups on day one the actual cabin was nice and the view to the river out front was beautiful. We had a great stay and enjoyed our time. Oh the heat situation in the upstairs was less than ideal so whoever stays up there should be one that likes it cooler in room if you go in winter.

Very disappointed!

The cabin was listed as two bedrooms but it was one bedroom with an apartment above the garage. This needs to be listed differently. A family with children would have been out of luck because the kids couldn’t stayed in the apartment by themselves. Not what we were looking for. We are 81 and 85 wanted to have a few days with our daughters but we were separated. The screened in porch had not been swept, spiderwebs hadn’t been swept down in cabin and dirty washcloth found hanging in both bathrooms. It hadn’t been dusted, my daughter wrote her name on the furniture. We were very disappointed.

Cabin on the river

Nice place,but the dryer was broken. Was told that they were going to send a technician out, but never did. There were very few channels on the TV to watch. Pay attention when booking, because I did not realize that there was no internet when we booked. Could use a few more supplies as far as trash bags and such and and appliances that were not old and actually worked.
