This Cabin was amazing in many ways. Easy access, Clean, absolutely Beautiful stone work, amazing master bathroom with spacious shower, superb host accessibility… I could go on - Very impressed.

Whiskey Bear cabin was the perfect place for our family get together. We loved it so much that we stayed an extra night! Word of warning, do not leave an opened bag of Buc-ees Beaver Nuggets in your car overnight; bears love em'.

Excellent place to stay!

Great place to stay - conveniently located close to West Jefferson, with the drive being short up 221. Close to Boone via 421 as well. Beautiful house, quiet location. Host was great, and house had everything we needed!

Wonderful cabin & excellent host/management

The cabin was clean and well furnished with everything we needed. Excellent spot for a weekend away with family and friends. Property managers were also great. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful fall getaway

Such an interesting and lovely place to stay. The cabin is beautiful as is the surrounding area with fire pit. We all had fun and enjoyed different areas for kids and adults. Loved it!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Whiskey Bear cabin! We were there with family and enjoyed our time. It was a great location to go hiking from and into Boone too. The house is perfect for time together but big enough for separate sleeping space too. Wonderful place!

We enjoyed our stay in this well appointed, super cute cabin! We stayed three nights and will definitely stay longer next time! I was “teacher tired” so we did not cook but the kitchen was well stocked should you need to whip up a meal!

Wonderful Cabin in the mountains

We loved Whiskey Bear cabin! The cabin is well appointed, the rooms are all a great size and there’s lots to do if you choose to stay in! The location was perfect for a trip to downtown Boone and a trip to downtown West Jefferson. Check in was easy and check out instructions were clear and easy to follow. Look forward to a return trip and will recommend to friends!

Great Property

The property was perfect for my entire family. One of my daughters received her master’s degree from App State this week and the cabin allowed us to bring our entire family for the celebration. Plenty of room and fun things to do. Would highly recommend this property

Cozy Cabin in the Woods

Fantastic stay. The owner got back to me right away when I had questions. Perfect for two families with kids. House was beautiful and beds were really comfortable. Kitchen had everything we needed. Only 20 minutes from Boone and 30 minutes from Ski Resorts. Definitely would come back.

Yes, it's technically Fleetwood but that doesn't rhyme as well...Loved the cabin...very rustic feel with modern conveniences. Had a total of 6 adults, one teenager and a dog and always had plenty or room with plenty of places to enjoy the quiet. Well stocked...if you aren't a Keurig user the drip maker does leave a little to be desired. Fortunately there is a french press which was well used on the trip. Definitely returning to the area and if available would stay at Whiskey Bear again.

Love this place

Stayed at the Whiskey Bear Lodge for 3 nights. Although the weather didn't cooperate with us the first day, the lodge still made it a memorable and enjoyable experience for all of us. There were 8 of us in total (4 adults, 4 kids) and the layout was perfect. The kids loved hanging out in the basement and the upstairs "kids" room. The lodge has a rustic appearance but with nice modern amenities. The owners were extremely responsive and even helped us to diagnose a problem that we had with the wifi over the phone. The yard has plenty of room to explore as well. We will definitely be back!

Family visit

Overall pretty house and property, well furnished with split wood for use in the burn pit. Largest issue was even though air conditioning was listed on the description, it is just a portable unit in the living room. There is not central air conditioning. While this may not have been an issue in the winter, it was not a very comfortable stay in August.

Mountain Getaway

Great cabin, but in 7 years and 20+ VRBO stays, this is the only negative experience we have had. Evolve real estate would not return calls. Contact service individual did not answer calls(voice mailbox full), texts or email requests. Luckily, we had no major issues but this was the first property that was not responsive. Although a great property, unfortunately we will not return or book any other property managed by this agency. Too many great VRBO options to settle with a management team who is quick to take your rental money, but ignores you once payment is made. I would ask for a refund, but know such an organization would not honor due to their commitment to revenue, and not customer service.

We did want to clarify that the local contact is not a member of the Evolve team - we are a vacation rental management service, but we do not provide on-the-ground services for the properties in our network. We do require each property to have a local contact that is available 24/7, and even though they are not Evolve employees, we still expect them to meet our high standards for hospitality. The homeowner also has high expectations for their local team, and they are looking for a new contact who will be more reliable when communicating with their guests moving forward. Guests receive the information for their local contact as well as for Evolve when they reserve their stay, and we hope that you won't hesitate to contact us if we can be of any assistance the next time that you book a vacation rental!
