House has a great view with nice outside deck and lawn area. Inside has two family room areas which allows for separate activities. Kitchen is small but usable. Plenty of closet space. Main bathroom is a little small. Second floor bedroom is very nice and private but uses the a first floor bedroom as an access pass through. Good size carport and a separate suite, including a small kitchen in the bunk house. Think cabin not luxury. The host was great.

First time to South Dakota. Great location close to everything yet tucked away from everything at the same time. Woke up to a family of deer every morning on the patio. So sweet. Really enjoyed our stay.

We were in town for a family reunion, and this was ideally located with so much more charm than a motel. We hosted a small picnic supper on the patio (with mgt’s preclearance) and it was lovely. Management was so pleasant and super responsive.

The house was marketed as having access to the near by lake but what they don't tell you is that the lake is agricultural run off and you can't swim in it because the e-coli is through the roof. Boating and fishing are all that you can do. You can't actually get to the lake side from the house either. You have to walk all the way around to get to the lakeside. The house is okay. The upstairs room are only accessible by a tiny spiral staircase, that we couldn't even get a small suitcase up. The deck is nice but the amenities that they said they had like the grill and stuff didn't work or we had to call to get fixed, get gas for or get new ones. It was okay but I wish we had stayed at the other lodge up the street.

We are sorry the house did not meet your expectations but please don't fabricate things that are not so. Canyon Lake is fed by a blue ribbon trout stream that continues on after the lake. I don't know how you came up with e-coli? The house property joins the shore of the lake. The lake was never marketed as a swimming or beach lake. We keep staff available 24/7 to handle any issues that a guest might have. If your grill or other 'stuff' didn't work, all you had to do was let us know.

Great Place for Home base while touring!

This was a great place to stay during our touring around the Black Hills. Nice family friendly home. Awesome view and we saw many friendly wildlife! I would recommend for any families.

Quiet & Ideal location

The property was quaint, quiet, accommodated my entire family and was very nicely located (scenery and proximity). It was close to Rapid City, Mt Rushmore and the Black Hills and The Badlands, Sturgis and Wall.

South Dakota Family Adventure

Lakeview Lodge was a wonderful home-base for our family trip to Rapid City. The campground was close and convenient to restaurants, grocery stores and gas stations but had the feel of being out in the woods. The best of both worlds! We would definitely recommend Lakeview Lodge.

Amazing Escape

I would definitely stay here again

I really can’t think of one complaint. We loved watching the deer right outside of the window. I will recommend this house to friends visiting the area. It was clean and well furnished. It was in a peaceful and quiet location on the resort. We liked that it wasn’t in a crowded area

Lake View Lodge

Lake View Lodge is a great location. We loved having the lake and stream practically outside the door. The location is very quite. There were deer that came on the property every evening. Outside of the bathrooms being very small the cabin was very comfortable. I highly recommend Lake View Lodge.

Wonderful location

Such a nice location with plenty of deck space for all. Layout of house works if you have younger people with you for the upstairs area. Bunk house was a nice bonus. Everything was clean.Really needs more silverware and better pillows. That was the only negative. Thanks for the stay!

Great location for a family trip to the Hills

We had enough room for our family group of seven in the main house. The kitchen was perfect for breakfast and picnic lunch prep. We had more rainy days so we couldn’t use the outdoor grill and patio, but enjoyed the views of wildlife outdoors. This worked well for our few days of visiting attractions.

Fun family getaway!

My husband and I, our adult sons and their girlfriends had a blast! Beautiful property! The wildlife and deer were amazing to watch right on the property from the large outdoor deck! Black Hills haven

Lovely peaceful, large cabin with huge deck and view of Canyon Lake. A family of deer visited every morning. Great home base for day trips to Badlands, Custer SP, Wind Cave NP, Mt. Rushmore, Jewel Cave Monument, Deadwood, Spearfish and more. Efficient and friendly resort managers. Booking was a breeze. Highly recommend.

Central Location, Plenty of Space

We used this as a jumping off point for multiple day trips. Three bedrooms and extra space in the bunkhouse. Loft bedroom is accessed through ground floor bedroom so better suited to a family. Lovely view out floor to ceiling windows. Owners at campground very nice and easy to work with.

Since we have lived next to the property for the last 33 years, we can say that it is the ideal location to experience the wide variety that the Black Hills area has to offer. All the conveniences of the City with a country feel. Plenty of other units if you are traveling with friends.

Lots of grass, huge trees, shade, and the abundance of birds and wildlife make this property feel like the great outdoors, yet we are only 4 miles from downtown Rapid City.
