Not rentable in present condition
Beautiful location, large one bedroom property.
However, far too many problems occurred during our stay.
1. Total lack of any helpful instructions (no instructions at all), on how the property functioned. No safety advice on the important issues within the condo area.
2. No details of local manager until major problems started to occur.
3. No internet after day 3. Engineers never managed to fix it despite several visits.
4. Electricity fuse tripped when trying to use more than one appliance. A long search for the fuse box which we found behind microwave revealed suspect wiring everywhere.
5. Wiring. Bathroom light rose revealing bare wires, hanging off ceiling, light fitting on balcony had hanging wires, light didn’t work, too dangerous to change bulb. Wires under stove top hanging off wall as well as under tv and internet box.
6. Main door lock faulty and locked us out at 9.00 pm eventually local agent broke in through bedroom window at midnight. Lock replaced next day, internal fixings broken through corrosion.
6. Furniture dated, balcony table too small ( only a coffee table).
7. Cleaning, booked previously didn’t happen on day we agreed. We had stripped bedding and towels to help. New bedding turned up at 9.00 in evening, cleaning happened next day.
8. New toilet had been fitted but floor tiles not replaced, whole bathroom needs updating.
9. No washer/dryer and no where to hang any wet clothes or towels.
In conclusion we asked a local property agent who was visiting our block what they thought, and in summary they said, it was not fit for renting without a full renovation including full electrical wiring safety check.
The position is very good. We have stayed in this complex many times and have never had a problem before.
We will not be using VRBO again, because of these issues, and the fact when we contacted your 24 hour helpline, your agent kept saying he could not help because he did not have the tools to do so. All we wanted was him to contact the owner or agent to sort matters, all he needed to do was use a phone. Hopeless.
