We had a great time! The place was clean, cozy, and had what we needed! It would helpful for the VRBO listing to include details about the washer and dryer. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Needs a lot of attention

Not up toVRBO standards. We only stayed two nights out of the five we paid for. Unclean. Dead flies in kitchen window, dirty linen on the floor in Master closet, unwashed dish in kitchen cabinet. Coffee maker didn’t work, neither did the ice maker. Right side sink in Master bath very slow to drain.

From the owner: "Thank you for your feedback, Lynn. We apologize for any inconvenience you experienced during your stay. Our property is professionally cleaned between each stay, and we strive to maintain high standards of cleanliness. We regret that we were not informed of the issues with the coffee maker, ice maker, and sink during your stay, as we would have addressed them immediately. We take your concerns seriously and will investigate this matter further to ensure it does not happen again. This type of feedback is unusual for our property, and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention."

Below Average

Blinds were broke and laying on the floor. Open hole in the door leading to the basement. Fireplace didn’t work. We were asked to clean more than usual when they charge an obscene amount in cleaning fees. From now on we will book hotels where WE are taken care of and we are not asked to take out trash and put linens in a pile.

Worst Experience Ever - This property should be removed for renting.

I've stayed at vacation homes before and this has been the worst one I have ever rented. When we arrived at the house it was completely filthy. All the rooms were dirty, with all the linens on the floor or on the floor in the closet. The bathrooms were dirty, with towels in the tub and the handle in the shower in the master shower falls off, dirty dishes in the kitchen and fridge, mold n coffee maker, trash hasn't been taken out and it had maggots in it. Which made the whole house smell terrible. There were dirty shorts behind the couch and boogers on the curtains. We took pictures and tried to contact the host about it. After ignoring multiple calls she answers and tells us cleaning will arrive in 40 minutes. We requested them to call us when they were done cleaning and they texted us 5 HOURS after check-in. House was still dirty! We just decided to clean the house ourselves, had to buy supplies. All of our plans were cancelled for the first night because we couldn't get ready. After waiting a few hours for the house to be clean in my car I contacted VRBO and multiple people in the chat told me I would get Travel Care treatment due to this situation and I just needed to talk to their specialist. Their specialist told me my issue was MINOR and I just needed to contact the host to fix it. The host listed told me she's not the owner but the janitor. Have texts, videos, and pictures to prove it. This whole experience has been a joke. Deleting VRBO after this. Do not book here!!!

Hi Ejehi, we’re deeply sorry to hear about your experience and understand how upsetting it must have been. We take such feedback seriously and have followed up with the homeowner, who’d like to share the following:- There was an unfortunate mix-up with our cleaners, and the home was not cleaned before your arrival. We sincerely apologize for this oversight.- Once we were made aware of the issue, we sent a cleaning team within 40 minutes of your check-in to address the situation.- After closer to 2-3 hours of cleaning, we're sorry to hear that the professional cleaning did not meet your expectations. We did all we could to address your concerns while in residence. We always work with both guests and homeowners when issues arise and apologize that we were unable to come to the resolution you were hoping for based on the documentation provided. We truly go above and beyond for our guests, and we are confident that future guests will have excellent stays!

Unexpected issues in Overland

We experienced a number of issues with this property. As we were trying to find the address in the dark, one of the house numbers was missing so we drove past it. There were so many leaves covering the steps and front landscaped area, we almost fell because we could not see where the step started/ended. When we tried to gain access with the code we were given, it did not work. When we contacted the "guest contact", that cleaning company did not respond immediately. Then we had to contact Evolve who gave us the last renter's code. The person who created our access code entered a wrong number. After finally gaining access to the property, there were more issues. None of the switches in the home are labeled (which is a common courtesy for renters). We found the remote for the living room light and ceiling fan, but the remote would not turn it on. So again we contacted the cleaning company woman (designated contact) to ask about the issue. She didn't know and had to contact the owner. She responded that we had to climb the steep stairs to the second level to flip a light switch. Seriously??? She thought it was funny and said even she didn't know that. There were NO directions to flip a light switch on another level of the home for the fan and light to work. So after getting settled in the home, we grabbed the TV remote to watch some television. Guess what? The remove would only turn on the TV but none of the buttons would work (guide, up, down, changing channels). So yet again, we contact the cleaning company. She proceeded to tell us that the previous renter had taken the remote control. Another remote was being ordered and should arrive in a few days. Again there was NO COMMUNICATION with us about this as an issue. We stayed at this property for 4 nights without access to any television. There were a number of other odd things at this property. The bay window over the sink had a bunch of flies and bugs to greet us. The third bedroom to the right of the stairs literally only CONTAINED A BED! There was no end table or lamp....just a bed. Nowhere to put your glass, reading material, etc. The living room was comfortable and the dining room was nice. The hall bathroom shower was almost impossible to use and the water was dangerously hot. The handles for the water just kept spinning around and around. We finally gave up on using it and shared the shower in the master ensuite. This was the worst experience we have had.

Hi Denise, the right vacation home is everything, and we're disappointed if this wasn't the one for you. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they wanted to clarify the following: - We're sorry you had trouble accessing the property. The local Guest Contact promptly responded via email and text to help you enter the home. - The Guest Contact is always kind, respectful, and professional in all interactions with guests. - After your stay, we inspected the TV; the HDMI cable was unplugged, rendering the remote that was accessible unusable. This was a simple fix, and the TV is in good working condition. As is evidenced by the other great reviews, the owners are accustomed to providing five-star experiences, and we feel confident that future guests will have an enjoyable stay!

Upon checking in the first thing you smell is a heavy smoke smell. Then after walking through the house, we find the kitchen is dirty. The floors are really sticky back. The carpet has not been vacuumed and the trashcan is overflowing at the curb I sent a message through the Vrbo app. They didn’t tell me to contact the housekeeper by the next morning I have heard nothing. I tried the housekeeper multiple times with no answer so I’ll go back to the Vrbo app and they say they will have to find a way to get a hold of her several hours later I get a call finally from the housekeeper, letting me know somebody’s already there cleaning and they don’t smell smoke. They smell burnt food. We hadn’t even cooked anything when we make it back to the Vrbo. It still smells like smoke in the bathrooms that have exhaust fans so I let the housekeeper know she didn’t ask me if I know what smoke smells like because she believes it’s sewer smell. It’s not sewer smell. I know what smoke smell smells like. We decided we just had to deal with it because they weren’t going to get the smell out. Sunday morning at 3:30 AM we find out we have no power. The power company worked on it all morning in about 8:30 a.m.,as we’re checking out. We finally get power back after we showered and got ready in the dark. How the house is listed is not easy to contact someone because it’s listed by evolve but evolved don’t own the house. It was not a good experience and we will not be back with this company again!
