Great Escapes Cabin

Gorgeous mountain cabin! Highly recommend for a relaxing time away for families or couples. Wonderful host who is very helpful and accomplished. Hope to come again.

The house was as described, very clean with a wonderful deck. The road to get there was bad but we used a different road the rest of the trip. The property manager didn’t respond to any requests/emails leading up to the trip but the owner did respond quickly after we contacted VRBO. We would stay there again.

After sharing the rest of the feedback with the homeowner, they’d like to note the following:- I provide custom driving directions ahead of arrival to help guests avoid the rougher road; the main gravel road is maintained and easy to navigate.- I’m always available to respond quickly if any communication gaps occur.I do all I can to provide the best possible stay, and I look forward to welcoming future guests back to this home."

Beautiful cabin and wonderful stay!

We loved our stay at this cabin. Convenient to Sandpoint but definitely away from it all. Be sure to follow the instructions from the owner and not the GPS. The kids loved hiking to the top of the property and the views once we got there. We enjoyed the available games and made use of the fire pit! It was a great stay and we hope to stay again next time we visit family in the area!

Ideal for a large group

We were two families on a road trip together. Great Escapes was ideal for us. The management team made everything welcoming and fun! They communicated very clear directions, as Google maps was unreliable for the location. When we got there, they had board games and outdoor games for us to play together, plus movies and records. The best part was the bottle of Bordeaux waiting for us when we arrived! Accommodations were clean and comfortable. Having a washer and dryer, as well as a fully-stocked kitchen, was very handy. They provided a welcome binder with tips for enjoying the property and local points of interest. Great Escapes is conveniently close to Sandpoint and Silverwood. We had a wonderful time, and would definitely stay there again!

Toddler Approved. Great big cabin in the woods!

The cabin is pretty awesome. Stocked with everuthing ypu could need. Just bring your own towels if staying in large group. We played hide and go seek at night. Its so dark, its perfect for it. There are a ton of bees. Not wasps but honey bees. Which doeant bother me but bothered everyone else. So we disnt really get to spend time outside, unless it was dark. About 30 mins to silverwood and 45 to Triple Play. And 30 mins to the grocery store. The house is amazing though and fit our large family with all age kids and 2 year old perfectly.Def recommend. Family Time

We were mostly there at night, our adult kids live nearby. The cabin was great, very comfortable and appointed well for cooking. The yard is like a park. Loved our stay!

Nice cabin, falls short of perfection

The property is nice and the overall location near Sandpoint is beautiful. The cabin was comfortable and worked well for our party. Good for kids with lots of amenities, like foosball, video games, yard to run around in. We had a bit of a snafu checking in to the cabin - not sure how the miscommunication happened, but we weren't given instructions to get into the cabin and had to contact the property manager several times. The road to the cabin is unmarked from Lakeshore Drive, so it was hard to find. The general neighborhood around the cabin is a mix of cabins and ramshackle yard dumps (it is North Idaho, after all). Neighbors were playing loud music during the day. The cabin was clean, but it didn't seem like it was cleaned by a property management company. Other guests in our party said that one of the bathrooms had not been cleaned. Dishes and kitchen tools were a little sparse, but adequate. Overall, we'd recommend it and would stay there again, but with these expectations in mind.

Great Cabin getaway near Sandpoint and Skiing

Great place for 2 families to get together for a skiing weekend at Schweitzer (35 minute drive to the resort and 15 minutes to Sandpoint) - plenty of space to hangout with lots of fun games/things to do in the cabin itself (Record Player, Jenga, Foosball, Old Nintendo Console. It felt remote but still close enough to Sandpoint.
