Loved our “girls” stay at this beautiful home! It was very clean and well appointed with everything you could need. The screened porch was wonderful! We enjoyed the view of the pond and the sound of the waterfall. If I could add anything, it would be to have a hanging sleep sofa on the porch. I think I would have slept there!! The beds were comfy and it was very dark and quiet and we all loved that. I would definitely stay here again!!!

This was a girls extended weekend for three adult women, and it was extremely comfortable and enjoyable for all. The pictures do not do it justice. It really is a beautiful place and the decor is lovely. We would definitely stay here again.

Great property!

We loved our week! The screened porch is so neat and the beds were so comfortable! Beautiful yard, trees and garden. We ate every meal on the porch and played games at the table after dinner. The living space is small but with such a large screened porch we just spent most of our time out there. Beautiful bathrooms and bedrooms. Our kids loved doing puzzles in the game room between hikes! We felt so blessed to spend a week at this lovely cottage!

Beautiful and cozy home, furniture and decor are very nice. You truly feel like you are in someone’s very loved guest home. Kitchen was well stocked beds were good. The downstairs bedrooms do not have air-conditioning in them, there is a mini split downstairs and there were fans in the bedrooms. It’s been pretty warm this summer and it made it a little difficult to cool the rooms down for sleeping. Tried to contact host on check-in day using the “contact host” button on Vrbo, we received a message that Vrbo was unable to help us and we needed to reach out to another person, gave us their phone number. I sent a text but never heard anything back. It was a small issue and our stay at the cottage was comfortable and enjoyable.

We're so glad you loved the home's cozy, lived-in feel and found the kitchen and beds comfortable. It was an unusually warm summer, and while the nights are normally cool enough for the fans to draw air into those downstairs bedrooms, we understand it made sleeping a bit harder this time, so we're considering adding individual A/C units to those two rooms. We're also not sure what caused the communication breakdown with Vrbo on your check-in day, as we don't deal with Vrbo directly, but we have been sending personal welcome texts from us to guests at check-in, and we'll make sure Evolve addresses this issue with Vrbo. We're happy the stay was still comfortable and enjoyable overall and we hope you will come stay with us again soon!

Enchanting cottage and perfect location!

Our family has stayed in the Highlands area several times over the years, but this is our favorite location! This cottage is beautifully decorated and full of charm. It is close to town, yet secluded and private. We will definitely stay here again.

The company that we speak to about the booking (“? Evoke”) is HORRIBLE!! Long before I checked in, I was speaking w/them about bringing my Service Dog. They said in numerous texts back-and-forth that she was approved yet they never told the owners so when I checked in, I was immediately (via a ring camera) hassled by the owners and Evoke. Everyone was calling and texting me. I spent HOURS out of several of my busy days with thIs. It was so annoying that I took my dog to a kennel. I am a local in between homes at the moment because I’m building there. I know the area well and I knew where to take the dog BUT checking into a kennel cost me more than 600. I thought that was extremely unfair. Also, the stairs are so bad; so steep and deep and skinny, all at the same time that I had to give up the master bdrm and give it to my son. The guest bath is so tiny you can barely turn around and there’s no place to sit for drying hair & for makeup except at the kitchen table. Theres extension cords running across the dining room outside, which is a terrible tripping hazard. If I were you, I would do something about that. I would suggest chargeable bulbs in your lamps eliminating the extension cords! They work great. The dishwasher is across from the sink, making for a very messy loading of the dishwasher. The rules for checkout were a bit stringent if you asked me; I. E. Take out your own trash & recycyle to the dump?!?

Regarding the outdoor area, our team is inspecting the porch immediately to ensure all cords are safely routed and cleared. We also appreciate your note on the stairs; while they were fully rebuilt to local safety codes during our 2021 renovation, we will continue ensuring our listing descriptions make the layout clear so future guests can plan accordingly.

This cottage was absolutely perfect for our girls' trip. The beds were the most comfortable I have ever slept in. The cottage was so cozy, beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean and amazingly well stocked. The outdoor deck is perfect for relaxing (or doing morning yoga). The location is idyllic - but still a short drive to downtown Highlands and to lots of great hiking. Our host was wonderful. We enjoyed great communication, with thoughtful touches to make us feel welcome. I would highly recommend this lovely home and hope to return in the future.

So charming and serene!

My family and I had such a relaxing stay at this cozy cottage! It was the perfect location and only a few miles from downtown Highlands. It was CLEAN and each space was decorated in such a charming way! The kitchen was also very well stocked with everything we would need as far as pots, pans and utensils. Each bed was so comfortable too! We are looking forward to visiting Highlands again and staying in this sweet cottage!

What a lovely cottage! Perfect for our family we were looking for a great location near Highlands main street and this was just perfect! The cottage is lovely, clean and fully stacked with everything you need during your stay. The best part is the beauty and the peace surrounding you while in the mountains...

Hurricane Helene

Great stay for a wedding we went to at Flat Mountain Farm. So close, great property. Hurrican Helene hit and the owners were extremely flexible with our checkout process given the extenuating circumstances. Thank you!

Loved it

Sweet cottage in a tranquil setting. Clean and cozy. Mattresses were awesome. Only suggestion would be some shaded seating on the deck since it’s full sun most of the day.

Beautiful home and property!

This is a lovely cottage and perfect for our family. The home is clean and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the deck for drinking our morning coffee and then for relaxing in the sun after our afternoon hikes. The property has a pretty pond and soothing waterfall. It is a great location and close to town. This is the second time we have stayed here and we will definitely stay again. Highly recommend!

Thanksgiving Getaway

Our family loves to leave Florida and head for the mountains Thanksgiving week. We were close to a lot of beautiful hiking locations. The house was perfect for us. The kitchen was fully equipped for Thanksgiving dinner. The house was very cozy and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The house is decorated like an English cottage, which made it extra special. We highly recommend this house.

Perfect getaway

From the moment we entered the home we were happy to be there. We had a long drive from Michigan but it was erased from memory immediately. The home is beautifully furnished in a mountain cabin style. Everything we needed for the entire stay was there, including a nice bottle of wine. The grounds are beautiful too, and Dawn spent hours sunning on the private deck. Highlands is a real gem of a town and we enjoyed all it offers. This was the best experience I’ve had using VRBO. We will be back, and won’t even mind the drive.
