Cottage 1 is in the grounds of Brook House B&B. Tucked away down a long driveway off Highway1. Ideal for guests that prefer to do “ their own thing” You can park right outside this spacious fully self contained cottage. Cottage 1 is perfect for a couple that want a bit of space and quiet. There is a Queen bed in the bedroom a spacious lounge, fully equipped kitchen also a washing machine & dryer. This cottage is pet friendly providing your pet is well behaved and you bring its bedding.

Cottage stay

Thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay in this cottage, homely and comfortable, close to town and great we could bring our small dog. Judy was lovely and welcoming.

Comfortable cabin close to scenic attractions

The cabin is small, excellent for 1 couple, is well organised and has everything you need. Its close to shops, tourist scenic attractions and the sea. We strongly recommend the easy walk on the cliffs with stunning views overlooking the sea and a seal colony.

Absolutely a relaxing stay

Cozy cottage to stay and a host that is a delight to deal with. Judy was very helpful on telling us about the local areas to go to as well as tips on where to buy lobsters! Our little Archie(pooch) has made friends with Judy’s Charlie(yet another pooch). He didn’t want to leave at the end of our stay. Funny that! Thanks Judy

Very relaxing stay

This property is lovely and peaceful. The one bedroom cottage was very roomy with very comfortable bed. Nice to be able to have dogs stay.

Miscommunication

The house itself was lovely, however upon arrival the host was rather flustered. Upon leaving there was a miscommunication about check out as our itinerary stated checkout was 11am.We found the host to be rude and unprofessional. We also found that there was little communication as we emailed several times before check in with no reply.

Comfortable Retreat

A very pleasant, clean, comfortable and warm home away from home. Met my needs for a brief quiet retreat perfectly. My large labrador had plenty of space too

Great Stay

It was so hard to find accomodation that was reasonably priced that would allow a pet, but this was absolutely perfect! We were staying in Kaikoura to go hunting, diving and fishing. There was a hose outside for washing our gear and a clothesline. It was private and quiet! We will definitely be back!!

My Name is Judy Jarvis I have 2 sons both of which live overseas in Japan & UK. I have lived and worked in Kaikoura for 34+ years. For the past 25 years I was employed by Whale Watch Kaikoura as a receptionist in their Reservations office but with covid and the downturn in Tourism...... I live in a big ugly 1970"s house called Brook House which I run as B&B Accommodation. Basically I share my home with lots of people, which I think is a wonderful way to live. I recently added 2 self contained cottages to my business which is an option for those that wish to have a bit more privacy and "do their own thing". I am more than happy to share my local knowledge with my guests.

Brook House is easy to find as it is off Highway 1 but down a long driveway from the busy road so nice and quiet. The front of the property overlooks farmland with an uninterrupted view to Mt Fyffe and the nearby Seaward Kaikoura Mountains.
