Treetops Retreat is a spacious five-bedroom, three-bathroom home surrounded by peaceful bushland with beautiful views towards the Derwent River. Sleeping up to 10 guests across two levels, the home is ideal for families, extended families and groups travelling together.
Main Level
The main level features four comfortable bedrooms:
3 bedrooms with queen beds
1 bedroom with 2 single beds
There are two bathrooms on this level, including one with a large bathtub.
At the heart of the home is a spacious open-plan living, dining and kitchen area overlooking the surrounding bushland. The fully equipped kitchen has everything needed for preparing meals at home, while the comfortable lounge provides plenty of space for everyone to relax together.
A fully equipped laundry with washing machine and dryer is also available.
Upstairs Parents' Retreat
Upstairs is a private, self-contained retreat offering extra space and privacy within the home.
It features a queen bedroom, ensuite bathroom with spa bath, its own fully equipped kitchen, dining area and comfortable lounge.
Step outside onto the private deck and enjoy your morning coffee while taking in the peaceful bush surrounds and views towards the Derwent River.
Having two separate living areas makes Treetops Retreat particularly well suited to extended families or groups, allowing everyone to holiday together while still having their own space.
Guest access
Guests have exclusive use of the entire property, including all 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 kitchens, 2 living areas, laundry and outdoor areas.
Parking is available on site for up to two vehicles, with access via a shared driveway.
The neighbourhood
Treetops Retreat is tucked away amongst the trees in peaceful Taroona, offering a wonderfully quiet setting while remaining within easy reach of Hobart.
Keep an eye out for Tasmania's native birds and wildlife around the property, or take a stroll down to beautiful Taroona Beach.
Hobart CBD, Salamanca, the waterfront, restaurants and major attractions are all within an easy drive, making this a great base for exploring southern Tasmania.
Guest Access:
Guests have exclusive access to the entire house, including all five bedrooms, three bathrooms, the kitchen, dining room, laundry room, and outdoor patio areas. Enjoy the garden and sea views from the comfort of your private space.
The Neighborhood:
The home is located in peaceful Taroona, a leafy riverside suburb just south of Hobart. Surrounded by native bushland, you'll enjoy a wonderful sense of escape while still being within easy reach of Hobart's restaurants, shopping, waterfront and many of southern Tasmania's most popular attractions.
Take a stroll down to Taroona Beach and the beautiful foreshore, where you can enjoy swimming, coastal walks, playground and BBQ facilities while taking in views across the Derwent River. The Taroona Foreshore Track winds along the coastline through native bushland and connects Taroona and Hinsby beaches.
Nearby you'll also find the historic Shot Tower, one of Taroona's best-known landmarks. Climb to the top for wonderful views across the Derwent River and surrounding coastline, then stop for a coffee or something sweet at the tearoom.
The Tree House is also conveniently positioned for exploring Hobart and southern Tasmania. Approximate driving times include:

Taroona is also a great starting point for day trips further south towards Kingston, Blackmans Bay, the Huon Valley and Bruny Island.
Back at The Tree House, keep an eye out for Tasmania's native birds and wildlife amongst the surrounding trees. It's the combination of bushland, beaches, river views and easy access to Hobart that makes this such a lovely place to stay.
Getting Around:
On-site parking is available for up to two vehicles. While having a car is recommended to fully explore Hobart and its surroundings, public transport is accessible. A bus stop (Channel Highway, stops 29 and 30) is a 5-minute walk away, offering regular services to the city center (CBD) and Kingston. Uber and taxis are also readily available in Hobart.
