Comfortably sleeping for 6 (or 7 including kids) our apartment is perfect for families or traveling professionals. This is a true one-off, with its unique design, and creative use of space, a whimsical space to call home!

The Space:
Enter your access code and transport yourself to a funky escape from the hustle and bustle, the apartment is a whopping 1000 sq ft all on one level!

As you walk into the hall way a huge living room greets you complete with a comfy couch and large Smart TV, perfect for winding down after sightseeing. Technically a lower level unit, the large windows let the sun flood in and make the space feel like it's on an upper level. Such a fun space to spread out, relax and enjoy after a day of walking the National Mall and DC's sights!

The sleeping arrangements are super flexible and can be laid out as follows:
~ Queen in the master bedroom (Smart TV included)
~ Bunk bed trundle bed in the second bedroom (twin mattress on top bunk, full mattress on bottom bunk, additional twin mattress underneath) Please note: Whilst this bedroom can technically sleep 4, we recommend that the second bedroom be used mainly for kids or a max of 2 adults to ensure the comfort of our guests
~ Queen sofa bed in the living space

Family-friendly amenities have been all thought through, including an art area and reading nook for your little ones, perfect for playtime, and the surrounding artwork will place them smack dab in their favorite comic book!

There are several laptop-friendly desk spaces (2 desks, the dining table, and the kitchen island) so your traveling executive can easily get some work done, take calls in peace and quiet, amidst enjoying the city resting outside your door.

The dining area and living room flow effortlessly into the kitchen; complete with all NEW cooking essentials and appliances, guests may choose to forgo the plethora of dining options outside their door to gather & dine together.

Care for some fresh air? Pop out front and enjoy the bijou outside seating area; perfect to enjoy a glass of vino in the evenings or your first brew of the day.

Guest Access:
The apartment is not shared with anyone else, and is a completely separate unit with its own entrance.

There is a family living upstairs. Please note that the everyday sounds and noises of family life (footsteps, stairs, kids playing, etc.) can be heard in both directions. You will undoubtedly hear them (and they will hear you) as they go about their everyday life.

The Neighborhood:
Nearby buses, Capital Bikeshares and Ubers surround the area – a 98% Walk Score deeming us a "walker’s paradise" by a reputable source! 
The U Street corridor has been the hub for African-American social, cultural, and economic progress in the nation’s capital! U Street is famous for its lively ively music scene and its smorgasbord of dining options. Foodies will have no shortage of choices; from Ben’s Chili Bowl to homemade ice cream at the Ice Cream Jubilee, there’s a little something for everyone!
Some of our other favorite neighborhood spots are Cork, The Saloon, Café U, Dukem, Greek Spot, Busboys and Poets, Mexicue, DC Noodles, Izakaya Seki and Andy’s Pizza.
For a little relaxation walk to Logan Circle and enjoy a picnic in the grass or to Meridian Hill Park for the Sunday drum circle. There are also several playgrounds with a few blocks.
Visit the African-American Civil War Museum or follow the U Street HeritageTrail signs or app. 
Trader Joes, Yes Organic Market and Whole Foods within blocks.
The neighborhood is very safe - experience the nightlife of U Street, and leisurely stroll back to your apartment for some welcome respite.

Getting Around:
We are a 5-minute (2-block) stroll from the U Street/African-Amer Civil War Memorial/Cardozo Metro, and 10 minutes on foot from the Shaw/Howard Metro Stop (green and yellow lines). Just 1.6 miles from the White House and National Mall, guests will have no issues traversing the city. The 96 bus can take you directly to Union Station (which houses the major sights) in 20 minutes. 

Nearby buses, Capital Bikeshares and Ubers surround the area. 

Venture outside and in addition to restaurants, nightlife and shops, you are mere steps to main bus and subway lines for Georgetown, The Capitol, White House, Smithsonian museums and zoo, U Street, Adams Morgan, Chinatown, Dupont, Arlington and more.
