We had an amazing stay! The home truly felt like a home away from home and had everything we needed, and more. It was clean, comfortable, well stocked, and perfect for our group. The location was great and made it easy to explore the island. Everyone in our group loved it and we would absolutely stay here again.

Great property for family get away

This was one of our favorite places we hav stayed in 6 different times to Mauna Lani area. The house was close enough to walk to The Shops, to the hotels and to the Bay Club. The pool for the properties was a hit for our 10 year old twins. We will definitely be back!

**Absolutely loved this home! **We came to Hawaii with our adult children, and this home was perfect for our family. There was plenty of room for everyone, and the open, spacious layout gave us the perfect place to relax, spend time together, and truly enjoy our vacation. One of our favorite parts was having access to the private beach and the Hilton. It was absolutely beautiful and made the experience feel like a true Hawaiian getaway. The owners were also so helpful and recommended a place where we could rent a golf cart for the week. That ended up being such a great addition! If you’re traveling with kids or a larger family, I would definitely recommend getting one.We happened to be there when a storm came through and stayed for a few days, but honestly, it gave us a chance to slow down and enjoy the home even more. It was cozy, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We never felt like we were missing anything. What I loved most was being able to have our family all together in such a beautiful and comfortable home. Those are the memories you take home with you.**I would absolutely recommend this rental to anyone visiting Hawaii. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely love to come back! **

Spring break in Hawaii

Spent a week here with our two college-aged children. Convenient to both the beaches and the mountains, with plenty of peace and quiet, we love this location. View from the master suite balcony toward the volcanoes is an amazing place for the morning coffee. As a family that likes to cook, we also appreciated the well-equipped kitchen.

The home was gorgeous as was the pool and spa. The kitchen was very well equipped. Loved the walls of windows that totally opened up the gathering area. The separate bungalows were thoroughly enjoyed and added privacy. We all highly recommend this Hawaii rental.

Top notch!

Centrally located in gorgeous Mauna Lani. House had everything - snorkel gear, bikes, boogie boards, coolers; kitchen had all the pots, pans, utensils, food storage, spices, you name it. Very hard to find places that sleep nine people. I will book again!

Vacation review

Beautiful location. Got to see goats on the golf course every day. Nice quiet area. Good location for stores shopping getting around. Nice pool. Residence as described in ad, would only request a second beach card and second garage door opener. Appreciated quick response and getting table and chair replaced due to prior damage .

Thank you so much for staying with us at Island Melody! The Islands Community really is a great place to stay as it is quiet and beautiful. Unfortunately we are only able to provide one beach card as that is all that we are given per home. It was our pleasure to help with the table replacement. We strive to create a great guest experience and we are thrilled that you had a nice stay. We truly hope that you get to come back one day!

Trip of a lifetime.

What a fantastic place! Do not hesitate to book. The property is exactly as shown, in fact, even better. It was the most well stocked vacation home I’ve ever used; you will not want for anything. All of the recreational toys in the garage were a lifesaver and were used everyday. Great location to the best beaches and shaved ice on the island. We snorkeled a lot and all agreed the best was at the private beach club.

Property was very nice large and well stocked with everything needed. Beds were all great.

The rental exp was very easy. Great job of communicating by the owners/property managers. Only issue is it could have been cleaned better. We actually had to clean some areas when we got there. But other than that it was great and I would recommend. It slept 5 adults comfortably. We would come back!

It is so great to hear that you found Island Melody to be comfortable and well stocked. We have shared your feedback with our housekeeping team. The housekeepers and inspectors who follow afterwards now use a detailed 100 item checklist for each clean. During stays we have staff that can pop over to help address any housekeeping issues that arise as cleanliness is very important to us, as is our guests comfort. We wish we had the opportunity to remedy this for you. It would be a pleasure to host you again in the future at Island Melody in Mauna Lani.

Wonderful stay

We stayed at this condo with 3 couples (6 people in total). Plus: Each bedroom has a huge own bathroom. During our stays, there was a college tournament held in Mauna Lani Golf course and we enjoyed their play from our terrace. It was so much fun. We also enjoyed BBQ at the terrace. Minus: None in particular. We definitely want to go back there again. Had a very wonderful stay. Thanks.

Easy stay

We arrived to a clean, well stocked house- from cookware to serving ware and storage for leftovers. Great places to bike (provided) and walk to- the ponds, petroglyphs, mauna Lani beach and club, neighboring hotels for a drink. 2 hour drive to volcano national park, 15 minutes to hapuna beach, 15 minutes to grocery store, 45 minutes to Kona brewery. Beautiful lanai frequented by goats. Very spacious for 6 adults and 2 kids. Bonus- each bedroom had its own large bathroom! Garage sucked with beach gear - wagon, coolers, umbrellas, chairs, snorkel gear, sand toys, boogie boards. 6 or 7 Beach towels were available for use. We did not need to contact the owners while there. Would highly recommend!

We love hosting over 3000 families each year in the homes we manage. The vast majority of guests are amazing and respect the homes they stay in and many come back time after time. You can see from all the amazing reviews of this home that our team members care and work to help guests have exceptional holidays. Where possible we make attempts to provide an early checkin if a home can be ready. We explained we would not be able to confirm an early check in until the day of arrival. On the day of arrival we explained to her there were repairs pending so an early checkin would not be possible but that we could text if the repairs were done early. When our maintenance person arrived at the home at 1pm we found that the guest was already in the home after being advised otherwise. This is just one example of a guest who does not follow simple courtesy, home rules and will threaten a bad review if not offered compensation. We would not recommend this guest to any other hosts on VRBO.

Good family spot

This is a really nice property for a family gathering. We had 6 adults, 2 toddlers, and one infant and it was plenty of space. Only about 2 minute walk to the community pool which is a great place for kids. Beach club access was really awesome and the garage was stocked full of toys and beach things. Overall great stay and super nice house, the owners are super responsive too with any questions we had. The only negative were that the downstairs bedroom does not have any blinds in the windows, so you are pretty much subject to sunrise and sunset for trying to sleep. This was difficult for the kids trying to take naps, but we still managed. Also there are 9 remotes on the coffee table which is excessive. Trying to get anything on the TV to work was super difficult. They really need to simplify this as we still were unable to get Netflix to load and had to just stream from our iPad instead. These were both minor issues and did not take away from our enjoyment of renting this property and I would fully recommend it for a larger family

Villa in nice location, cleaning needs to be improved

A pretty house in a well-kept, quiet location with a south-facing orientation and view over the golf course. All common facilities at Mauna Lani Resort, such as Pool, fitness centre, tennis courts, private beach etc. can be used free of charge and are in impeccable, well-kept condition. The Melody Villa itself is not so well maintained inside and outside. Cleaning the floors especially in the bathrooms, the floor boards, window frames and kitchen utensils could be much better. The entrance door, like the grille of the air conditioning system, would have to be cleaned from time to time. The bathroom carpets were so dirty that we didn't use them in all the time. These should also be washed and/or replaced after each tenant. Also the gas grill outside is visually heavily polluted (fat and dust), the terrace was definitely not cleaned for weeks.

We wish that you had reached out about your concerns while you were in the home, and are perplexed by your comments as  you submitted a 5 star initial impression rating on the home’s tablet and any questions you had were quickly answered.   We have a team of cleaners and handy people in the resort daily and could have attended to your concerns promptly had we been aware of them.  We are reviewing you’re feedback with our cleaners and inspectors.

Wonderful rental. They had so many items available which made our trip wonderful.

The only item we had an issue with was that the air conditioning was programmed not allowing temperature to be set below 72 degrees. Even with the fans on at night, it was not comfortable sleeping. 70 might have been a better temperature.

Beautiful property...but

If an option, i would have rated 4.75 stars. This is a great condo. Clean, spacious, plenty of dishes, pots, pans, comfortable beds, quality towels, etc. We had trouble with the fridge and a few other things and the management team was VERY responsive. The BUT... the flatware includes just 4 knives. A couple of the remotes had no batteries. The cutlery is dull. The place is beginning to show signs of wear. Edges of rugs are worn/torn, walls need paint, dining table has been broken and repaired poorly so it isn't flat, two of the dining chairs have broken lattice backings, living room furniture is beginning to sag. And yet, it is still a lovely location and very nice property, and I hope the owners put in the money necessary to make it truly 5 star again!

Wonderful Vacation

We had the best time staying at the Island Melody Villa. The house was just as pictured with spacious rooms and comfortable beds. It was plenty of space for two families. We cooked almost every meal in the kitchen and had all of the right supplies to do so. The location is also great. The quick walk to the pool was a breeze with little kids as was the short drive to the beach club. Having that access was really the cherry on top. We also frequently walked over to the grocery store. We loved making the quick drive to the black sand beach and beach 69. We had such a wonderful trip and will definitley be back!
