I really enjoyed my stay and found this apartment to be a comfortable, convenient option for a longer stay. I was in Detroit as a rotating medical student, and the location worked very well for getting to my clinical sites. The apartment is in an older building, so sound from upstairs neighbors was noticeable at times. It appeared they had guests over on more than one occasion, which is when the noise and heavy stomping were most noticeable. I was woken up twice around 4–5 a.m. This may be worth noting for light sleepers, and is not something the host can control. The apartment was very clean upon arrival, and I felt very safe during my stay. An in-unit washer and dryer, gas range stove, and basic cookware made it easy to settle in. Plates were sufficient, and while the pots and pans were older, they were usable. I shared one small suggestion with the host to consider replacing plastic cooking utensils and possibly updating the cookware, as plastic can melt on a gas range at medium to high heat.Check-in and check-out were simple and easy. Snow removal, salted stairs, and parking right outside the door were appreciated. The host was responsive and flexible, including allowing brief weekend visits from two friends per the guest policy.Overall, this was a very positive stay. My four-star rating reflects occasional noise from upstairs neighbors rather than multiple issues.
