My two brothers and I stayed here. The house is cosy and there's plenty of room. Communication with our hosts was easy and we had everything we needed. Two things to know are that the stairs are steep and the twin bed is better for kids or someone 5'7" or under -- which I am so I got that room. The outside area looked nice and I can imagine it would be great to have in the spring or summer. Another plus was the water dispenser on the fridge. The beds were comfy and the rooms are all a good size, even the smallest bedroom. Would stay here again.

Relaxing stay in W Caldwell

My husband and I had a thoroughly relaxing and comfortable stay in Crane’s Cottage. The cottage was charmingly decorated, well appointed and equipped, spacious, conveniently located to all amenities and spotlessly clean. We look forward to returning.

Two Month Fall Stay

Our stay at the Cottage was very pleasant and just what we needed. Our hosts, Loretta and Mark, were terrific and were always available. Since we knew the area well, it was easy for us to get around and we felt at home staying in the Cottage.

Location Location Location

This property is in an ideal location. It's a short ride from Newark airport. It was the perfect size and space for us to stay while we were in town for a wedding. Plenty of parking and it felt very safe and secure. The host was wonderful and recommended an Italian restaurant across the street that was terrific! This was a win!

Historic Comfort

This historic home is a terrific find. It is very clean , beautifully decorated, and set on a lovely, large piece of property. The description Mark wrote on VRBO is spot on. The house is centrally located. Restaurants, shops, library and the bus to New York are all within walking distance. This stay made a business trip to the area so much more enjoyable than a hotel would have been!!

Cozy and quiet place.

The cottage was clean and cozy. I did not do any cooking in the kitchen, it could definitely use a remodel. The bedroom were very comfortable and clean. It was just myself and my dog, so perfect for the two of us, but definitely room for more. The area was very nice to explore and everything was accessible. The owners were easy to reach. Overall a good place to stay.

Return visit

My husband and I returned to this lovely property having stayed here for a week last month. Returning, after weeks of travel we felt like we were coming home. It is such a comfortable, well-appointed, charming house, with plenty of room to spread out and we really enjoyed the W Caldwell area with its great restaurants, great shopping nearby and every possible amenity. It is also an easy shot via I 80 into NYC. Our hosts were so helpful and made our stay a pleasure. We are back in Nov and looking forward!

Oase in einer kleinen Stadt.

In dem gemĂŒtlich eingerichteten Cottage haben wir uns sehr wohl gefĂŒhlt. Zu viert hatten wir ausreichend Platz um entspannt Urlaub zu machen. Auf dem großen GrundstĂŒck stehen drei WohngebĂ€ude und ein Schuppen. Durch viele BĂ€ume und GrĂŒnpflanzen wirkt alles sehr harmonisch. Die netten Vermieter Marc und seine Frau wohnen im vorne stehenden Haupthaus und respektieren die PrivatsphĂ€re der GĂ€ste. Wir bekamen gute Tipps fĂŒr AusflĂŒge,Restaurants, etc. Obwohl man ruhig, beinahe autark wohnt, sind alle GeschĂ€fte fĂŒr den tĂ€glichen Bedarf fußlĂ€ufig erreichbar. Gerne waren wir auch in der gegenĂŒberliegenden Pizzeria zu Gast. Leckere Pasta und Pizzen, freundlicher Service. Wir wĂŒrden das Cottage wieder mieten.

Comfortable and convenient and terrific family time

Hosts were welcoming and helpful. Easy and smooth check in and check out with all necessary information. Our family of five adults plus well behaved dogs enjoyed a comfortable stay. Lovely old house

This was our second stay at this charming, well kept property. Immaculately clean and well supplied with room to spread out. Mark and Loretta are experienced hosts, available but respectful of their guests privacy. West Caldwell is a charming town with terrific restaurants. Enjoy your stay!!

Christmas holiday

We spent Christmas and New Years at this beautiful historic cottage. We gathered with family and friends and relaxed by the fire during our much needed long holiday break. I plan on hosting the holidays again at this cottage in the future.
