Bright & Spacious 4 + 1 Bedroom Beach House - 10 Minutes from Cavendish.
Centrally located on the North Shore of Prince Edward Island in one of the Island's major summertime destinations, "Sunshine By the Sea" is a charming family-friendly paradise.
This 4+1 bedroom, 3 bathroom open-concept beach house features a large central area that serves as both a living room and a dining room, with an adjoining kitchen including a raised breakfast bar with barstools. The main floor is flooded with natural light thanks to the large windows and two sets of sliding glass doors that lead out to the expansive deck. Outside, you will find a barbecue/eating area as well as a sitting area with four Adirondack chairs. The main floor features one guest bedroom with a queen-sized bed and a full bathroom (inc. washer and dryer). There is also a den off the kitchen which can function as a 5th bedroom The couch pulls out to a bed. Upstairs, you will find two more guest bedrooms with comfortable double-sized beds, and a 3/4 bathroom. Escape to your own private oasis in your large sun-filled master bedroom/ensuite with a queen sized bed & its own fireplace and private deck overlooking the New London Bay.
"Sunshine By the Sea" is steps away from sandy shores and offers spectacular views of some of Canada's best sand dunes. Enjoy a morning coffee and watch the sun rise over the dunes or sip a glass of wine under a full moon reflecting on the water. Blue herons and eagles are a common sight in the Hebrides.
Located in the exclusive gated community of "the Hebrides", guests are free to enjoy amenities such as our heated pool, 9-hole (par 3) golf course, and clubhouse which are located a short drive down the red dirt road into the heart of the community. **Sunshine by the Sea beach house is located in a beautiful opened gated community, camping tents, campers and/or RV's are prohibited on the property. RV's are also prohibited to be parked overnight on the property. There are no exceptions.**
Named by Condé Nast as one of the top islands to visit in 2020, Prince Edward Island beaches are some of the best in Canada, with long stretches of white soft sand that are just perfect for strolling. "Sunshine By the Sea" is located minutes from Cavendish in PEI's National Park.
Prince Edward Island is a food and/or golf lover's destination. You don't have to travel far to be graced with an abundance of picturesque lighthouses and breathtaking scenery, and there are 6 golf courses within ten minutes of the Hebrides. Nearby, Cavendish offers fun for the whole family with a water park, an amusement park, parasailing, museums, restaurants, as well as shopping at the Boardwalk and Avonlea Village. Take part in local summer festivals as well as our now world famous Fall Flavours Festival - an extravaganza food event throughout the month of September (www.fallflavours.ca). September is a beautiful month on Prince Edward Island, and you can take advantage of low off-season rates.

Perfect place for a girls trip
Amazing location just over the bridge! I wanted a place close to the bridge for the beautiful view and it’s a good half way point for travelling the entire island. It’s a quiet neighborhood and the beach just down the road was so fun to walk at low tide! It started to feel like home shortly after we arrived and the sunroom was definitely a group favourite!

We had an amazing stay here! The cottage was super clean, there was plenty of space for my family and my parents. The area was quiet, with easy access to amenities at the community centre. My kids loved the pool and table tennis! The location is perfect - close enough to Cavendish, but far enough away to feel private and relaxing. I would highly recommend and would absolutely book again in the future!

The house was a comfortable base from which our family of four explored the Island. It’s well situated & the house is thoughtfully stocked. My kids enjoyed the beach down the road and the collection of board games. My spouse appreciated that he could walk to multiple antique stores. We’re past the stage of needing them ourselves, but I always love when hosts have dishes & seats for babies.

Very comfortable, great location, 3 bedrooms and a bathtub were a bonus. I wish it had the typical in at 3 and out at 11 rather than 10 and 4 but other than that is was a great place to stay.

Perfect cottage for family vacation
We absolutely loved our stay at this wonderful cottage! We were a multigenerational group ranging from 2 years old to 75 and we found this cottage worked well for everyone. There is space to spread out between the living room, the den and the wonderful deck and yard. The cottage is well equipped for cooking meals at home and we enjoyed bbqing and the outdoor firepit in the evenings. Having three full bathrooms was also a huge plus for our large group. The area is very serene and quiet allowing for beautiful walks around the community while only being a 10 minute drive from Cavendish boardwalk and beach. We very much enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again soon!

First trip to PEI
The property had more than enough space for 4 adults + 5 children. The kids especially enjoyed running around the large lot, playing frisbee, having races and burning off extra energy. We loved the proximity to Cavendish Beach, Avonlea, and Anne of Green Gables, but also appreciated that other destinations like North Rustico, Victoria, and Charlottetown felt very accessible for day trips. The hosts were very responsive and helpful during our stay. Overall, the trip was a 10/10! Thanks very much for letting us enjoy your property!

Great family home
Besides being everything the listing described, the House was very clean and well appointed with household amenities that u might not expect at a typical rental- plastic bags, Tupperware containers, oil and spices, flour, etc. The only thing i would note is the beach is not very nice for swimming (more mud than sand and lots of seaweed, path down is grown over) but the pool onsite is very convenient. The host is excellent. Would definitely go back

A Wonderful Experience
Laurie was an amazing host. She communicated with us and answered all of our questions before arrival. She communicated upon our arrival and said she would be available if we required anything. We did not have to do this as the house was fully stocked with everything we could think of. We felt welcomed and at home from the moment we arrived. We wish we could have had a longer stay, hopefully we will be able to return soon. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

Mixed Feelings
The lovely community of Hebrides was severely impacted by Fiona. Many houses were lost and the community is rebuilding. Four different neighbours warned us when walking to the beach (map provided by cottage) that footwear was necessary on the sand as there was glass debris on the beach. The neighbours recommended free, beautiful beaches about 20 min drive from cottage. Cousins Shore was our favourite. As for the cottage, there is a large yard for kids to play, lots of towels, bedding, and pillows, and a fully stocked kitchen. The heat pump keeps the main level cool. The upstairs bedrooms all have ceiling fans but it can still get hot when humid outside. There are lots of games for family fun also. The community pool is cleaned regularly and is great to cool off in. One day a nasty smell developed in an area near the laundry/bathroom/basement. We weren’t able to locate exact source but it smelled like a dead mouse. To be clear, we never saw a mouse or droppings. We contacted the property manager and she was apologetic and even offered to comp a day’s rate. After we left, we were told that no carcass = no refund and were charged $150 for extra cleaning. We followed all the instructions in the book about cleaning (strip beds, pile laundry, take our garbage, etc) and were shocked. We did miss some small pen marks a child made on a door. But $150? I'd tell you more but my review space has run out. One thing the property manager and I agree on is to never do business together again

First i would like to say that yes, you did strip all the beds & placed all the used bedding & towels in the bathroom & started the dishwasher & most of the food garbage was taken out & you did leave the bags of cans
down in the basement like stated in the welcome book & we appreciate that.
But...
The front door was not locked including both patio doors, windows left open. Which it clearly states in the welcome book all windows and doors are to be locked at checkout.
The freezer was a mess, looked like something exploded in it. There was a liquid that was splattered on the wall in the kitchen and on the dishwasher and ran down to floor. Leaving the wall and floor sticky.
There were 2 bags of garbage left of food and mixed items in the bags in the basement, which should have been taken out.
On the wall and the white wall casing at the top of the stairs there were pen scribble marks , along with pen scribble marks behind the door in the master bedroom.
You were charged the extra $150 due to the state of the house. As it took my cleaners extra hours to clean.
Because of the mess of the house , our guests checking in later that day had to wait over an hour to check in because the cleaners were still cleaning.
We have all the documented Photos of the beach house and the State it was left in when you checked out and we shared those photos with you.
As far as the beach my family & I spent time at the beach also we had guests that went before you to the beach and had no complaints.
You did not contact my co-host about the state of the beach or your concerns with beach. As if you did she would have been more then happy to give you other beach locations.
