The Tip Sea Mermaid is a fully renovated beach house in Salvo situated on a corner lot just 200 feet from the sparkling Atlantic Ocean. While the interior of this oceanside retreat is top-notch, it's the outdoor areas that will truly make your next vacation one for the books. From the multiple decks and hot tub to the spacious backyard with fire pit, there are plenty of opportunities for spending quality time with family and friends. Lounge in the sun and enjoy an ocean view from the expansive rooftop observation deck, or relax in the shade with a good book on the screened-in porch. Either way, you'll feel the refreshing salty breezes and hear the sound of crashing waves. When it's time to hit the beach, use the Quay Street public access located just a three-minute walk from the house. Load up the beach cart to easily transport your coolers, toys and gear for a full day of sun, sand and surf. Inside, this classic cottage has been completely remodeled and furnished with beach-lovers in mind. Upgrades include a brand new kitchen with quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances, an updated primary bath with custom tile work, and LVP flooring that runs throughout the entire home. Thoughtful design choices like shiplap walls, fun accent colors and coastal-themed wallpaper all tie together for that modern beach house vibe. Outside, a large fenced-in backyard is perfect for cookouts and yard games. In the evenings, gather the family around the fire pit to plan the next day's adventures, or unwind with a relaxing soak in the hot tub before heading off to bed. Bed and bath linens are always included at no extra charge, and the beds will be made with fresh sheets and pillowcases prior to your arrival. The Tip Sea Mermaid is located in Hatteras Colony on the northern end of Salvo, where the pristine beaches are wide and uncrowded. While the location is ideal for guests looking for a remote and natural setting, it's still within a mile radius from watersports, surf shops, a market and deli, take-out options, ice cream and the popular Watermen's Bar & Grill. Slightly farther north you'll find even more dining and shopping options in the town of Rodanthe. Be sure to set aside a day for a trip to Cape Hatteras, where you can climb the lighthouse, go driving on the beach, or hop on a ferry to Ocracoke. No pets allowed. No smoking/vaping.

Great spot, the house was very cute and we enjoyed it greatly. The host was very responsive. We loved all the outdoor areas. We wished there was a vacuum there so we could clean up a little because the tiny broom there wasn't very efficient but it was still a wonderful stay

The best time at Tip-sea Mermaid!

We loved staying here! The observation deck is AWESOME! If it is available next summer when we book again, we will try to stay at the Tip-sea Mermaid again.

Sufficient for a weekend

This property worked well for our weekend stay. I will say as far as improvements there was a damp smell throughout and some patches of flooring not quite finished. We did enjoy that the kitchen was stocked with every pan/pot we could need. I would stay for a weekend but probably not book for a full week.

This was a very bad trip. I had delays in reaching the management. The hazard wasn’t even fixed, large nail poking out on the stairs, until our last day. I reported issues on our first evening. We had no lighting using the stairs on the top floor. Ceiling fan not working. Wine cooler broken. The screened in porch was ripped all along the top. We wanted to have dinner and watch the soccer game but the TV advertised was missing. There is black mold in the master bathroom shower. It was dirty.

We value your time and your feedback.  I would like to address a few points in the review that you submitted concerning the home and follow up provided by Village Realty . We sent out a property manager to the property the same day the issues were reported. A tech addressed and resolved the screen door, ceiling fan and the wine cooler concerns.   The lights on the porch are solar and they are weather dependent; we had made you the guest aware of the solar lighting when the lighting concerns were brought to our attention Nothing about the house being dirty was mentioned in the communication with the property manager or in the VRBO platform,  if so we would have addressed the concerns immediately. We are not able to provide a resolution if we are unaware of a concern. Thank you for allowing Village Realty to provide you with your vacation rental.
