The Blue Door Chalet is a lovely, new, quality Ohakune chalet for you, your family, and friends. This modern Ohakune bach has everything you need after a day on the slopes, on the bikes, or exploring the area.

This three bedroom, one-bath bach with Spa Pool will help you relax in comfort. From the covered car port you enter through the aforementioned blue door and find the three bedrooms downstairs along with a full bath, spa, and a full laundry room and drying room for wet gear. You can even keep your bikes or skis in the lockable storage room in the carport.

The stairs lead to the inviting open plan living space upstairs where you find a full kitchen, dining table, sofas, and deck with mountain views. Upstairs has everything you need to relax, watch a movie, eat a meal or play games with friends and family. There is a good selection of books to read, some games to play, and a Smart TV.

The fully equipped kitchen has everything you need, including a dishwasher to make cleaning up easy and hassle free:).

The Blue Door Chalet's three bedrooms and 1.5 baths, sleep up to 8 comfortably (max 6 adults). A queen bed, two-sets of bunk beds, a king single, and a roll out trundler bed (single) make it easy to accomodate various groups of families.

Snowberry Lane is perfectly located, across from the Mangawhero River walkway, a three minute drive from town centre with its' restaurants and bars, and is on the mountain road up to Turoa ski field.

The region has tons to offer from winter sports to summer fun, and adventure to relaxing. Skiers, snowboarders, bikers, hikers, and anglers will all find more to do than they have time for.

We were very comfortable in this lovely wee home. Very warm and cosy and the spa was definitely well appreciated after a cold day on the mountain. Very nicely stocked with a great library and everything you could need in the kitchen.

We had a fabulous stay - two families with small kids - they loved the bunk room and the awesome den in the lounge - they spent hours playing in there. Not to mention the spa pool! The place was clean, comfy and lovely, great location close to mountain and walkable to the powderkeg pub, town centre a very short drive away. Would definitely recommend!

Great little bach

We enjoyed our short visit in this cozy little house. It is obvious that it is owned and loved by someone, not just a rental property. Lots of nice personal touches throughout. We weren’t there for very long but had everything we needed. Lovely place.

Very nice and cosy

It was a little smaller than we expected but it was very nice and cosy and we were welcomed inside to it already being nice and warm. It was well furnished and we were provided with everything we needed. Overall a very nice little house to stay in with a young family.

Very comfortable stay close to town

What a wonderful place. Everything was lovely, new, clean and most of all warm. The drying room worked perfectly for our wet skiing gear. There was plenty of storage space for our stuff. Most importantly there was a powerful hot shower and the beds were super comfy. Almost forgot the immaculate and spacious hot tub. We had a great stay. Thanks Mark.

Overall great. The house is beautiful. Well appointed in a great location A confusing things one is the Jacuzzi is only accessible through one of the bedrooms. This is awkward with changing and sleeping if anyone wants to go into a night Jacuzzi soak. Also, the room being carpeted made it difficult to honor the owners and not get carpet wet, and there was no other way in or out of the Jacuzzi. The listing is also a bit misleading as the photo is of a black house with a Jacuzzi and it’s actually the neighbor’s home not this listing.

Property was a great spot. Nice and warm. Just a note...the locks in the spa were broken and we couldn't get the tv to go ( didn't find all the remotes until near the end) but instructions didn't seem to work. Played games so not too much of an issue.

We had a great time at The Blue Door Chalet. The house is well equipped, heated and welcoming. We arrived with a heated house, which was very pleasant, especially with a baby. There is a range of games and books in case of bad weather. The bedding is perfect. We love the little "cabane" for kids/teen. We'll be back for sure.If I have to snipe, it would be nice to have a cot and a baby chair to avoid moving our house.The only thing was that the spa ran out of water and had a bad smell.

We live in Taranaki and built this bach in Ohakune because we love the mountains. We've spent a lot of time at various baches across the country and all that time helped us learn what we'd want if we were ever lucky enough to have our own. We added many details that we enjoy and hope others will also in order to get the most out of their time exploring the area.

Voici pourquoi l’hôte a choisi cet hébergement

During winter the ski fields are awesome. Our family has had some great days at both Turoa and Whakapapa. Then, during the summer there are so many other fun ways to explore the area, such as hiking around the mountain on day hikes or multi-day walks. One of my other favourite pastimes is to go fly fishing. There are a lot of premiere rivers in the area (where I try to catch some trout, but mostly get in a lot of casting practice).

This new build has some nice features, such as the built in seating by the table, the secure storage area in the carpark, which is good for bikes or other gear. There is also a full laundry room with a dehumidifier, which serves as a simple drying room for wet gear. The best part is to take a dip in the spa at the end of the day.
