Tallgums - Immerse Yourself in Ancient Rainforest

Escape to Tallgums, a beautifully renovated cabin set on the edge of the World Heritage-listed rainforest of Barrington Tops National Park. Explore walking trails and river swimming spots from your doorstep, spot abundant wildlife, relax on the veranda or enjoy a game of tennis. With modern comforts and premium bedding, Tallgums offers a peaceful escape immersed in nature for up to 5 adults.

The main space is open living with kitchen, dining and lounge. On this floor is also the main bedroom and bathroom. Bathroom has a bath to soak in after those long walks and a shower. Stairs lead up to the upstairs loft. We accommodate up to 5 adults comfortably with a queen bed in the main bedroom and 3 king single beds in the loft. All with premium mattresses and bedding. The veranda wraps around and under the covered roof is a large outdoor sofa. There's also an outdoor table for dining. Watch the birds come by.

We have a powerful reverse cycle air-conditioning unit, that will warm those winter chills and cool off that summers day.

Kitchen is compact but equipped with a mini-oven, microwave, stove, fridge/freezer, Nespresso coffee machine and dishwasher.

You’ll find everything you need to relax and enjoy your stay. Challenge each other on the shared tennis court (rackets and balls provided in the cabin), curl up with a book, or dive into one of the many board games and toys available. For movie nights, there’s a TV you can plug in your device or laptop. Whether you’re after quiet downtime or a bit of fun, the cabin is set up to help you unwind in comfort.

You have access to the whole cabin and wrap around veranda. While it's part of a group of 20 cabins our cabin offers a private setting at the end of a row backing onto the forest, well away from the shared tennis court and BBQ areas.

The cabin is a semi and has one shared wall.

Other things to note:
Mobile reception is not available in the area. Limited internet is available under the cabana near the tennis court for essential communication, but streaming and downloads are not permitted. There is no Wi-Fi inside the cabin.

Stairs are required to access the cabin and the loft.

There is no door to the loft and no gate on the stairs so it is not suitable for very young children.

Everything was as advertised, the exterior is rustic but the interior was clean, well furnished and modern. I definitely recommend this spot for a quiet escape.

We had such a lovely stay at Tallgums, such a cosy little cottage and even though we got a fair bit of rain we loved getting snuggly in the cottage and looking out into the bush. We did a small section of the blue gum loop which was magical and so nice to just walk out the front door and be amongst it. We spotted 2 pademelon's which was exciting for all. The highlight was feeding the birds on the verandah, the kids absolutely loved it. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

We loved our stay at Cosy Cabin. The cabin itself was all we needed. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. We loved spending our time out on the wrap around verandah feeding the birds and watching the wildlife. It was so peaceful and relaxing.

Perfect short stay

The cabin is homely and cozy. Nestled into the bushy hillside. We loved our stay, the surrounding walks and the birds visiting each morning.

We had a lovely stay in this cosy cabin and enjoyed being close to the nature of Barrington Tops. There's convenient access to the Blue Gum Loop and Rocky Crossing Trail walks. We had a flock of king parrots join us on the veranda one morning and there were pademelons hopping by. There's no internet access, which was great for disconnecting and playing games instead. The kitchen was small but well resourced.

Fantastic cabin in a magical place! It was truly a wonderful and relaxing getaway from Sydney. We were even warmly greeted on arrival from the local bird and animal life! The cabin was very well equipped, with ample space located in a lovely spot within the property. The bed was comfortable, and the kitchen was well stocked with all the utensils you could need. The heating also made our stay very comfortable, especially within the cold winter months. The walks in the surrounds are a must see as well! The overall area is truly beautiful, and would highly recommend to try out the Blue Gum Loop trail. Annika was a wonderful host who was very responsive with any questions we had, and made our stay an excellent experience! We highly recommended to stay here, and will definitely be back in the future! Thanks again Annika for a lovely stay!

We had a wonderful stay at the Cosy Cabin. There was lots of rain around for our time there but this didn't dampen the charm of this beautiful location and the accommodation made for a really memorable off-grid time away - something that I recommend for everyone. The check-in arrival arrangements were all straight-forward and the kitchen facilities were great.

The cabin is in the heart of the forest, with walks in the wonderful national park at your doorstep. The wildlife was amazing with lyrebirds, bandicoots, king parrots, satin bowerbirds and more sighted on our short two night stay. The kitchen is well equipped for a decent stay with a lovely newly renovated bathroom and every bed had an electric blanket with warm and cozy bedding. Very enjoyable stay.

In nature's lap

Enjoyed the walks to the National park next door. Kids absolutely loved feeding birds in morning. Being off grid was great as we connected more as family and played board games, rather than video games!

Magical

A really lovely cabin with all we needed and a very special bushland National Park surrounds, swimming holes, birds, potaroos and so many fungi. Warm beds and emersive to tbe bush windows. A few leeches but we coped.

Lovely weekend getaway

Lovely cosy cabin at end of row. Bed was very comfy with the warmest quilt ive ever slept under. A wet Saturday morning allowed us to sleepin and eat a big breakfast, once the rain cleared we went on an easy walk. Kitchen had everything we needed, i have eaten more in a weekend then i usually eat in a week. Beautiful king parrots, rosella and parakeets demanded feeding and a very confident bush turkey thought he was the main show. Sunday was sunny so we decided on the longer walk and had lunch beside the water. Everything we needed was available, other cabins were mostly empty so very quiet, relaxing weekend. We will be back when its warmer to try the swimming holes.

Lovely Stay

We loved our 3-night winter escape to Barrington Tops, it was exactly what we needed to disconnect from the busy city. Annika's cabin is thoughtfully set up to make sure guests are looked after and perfectly situated to explore the Bluegum Loop, a relatively easy 3.5km walk through rainforest. The cabin had everything you need for a comfortable, cosy stay. All beds were comfy and warm and the kitchen had everything we needed including a Nespresso Coffee Machine. We appreciated the Bluetooth speaker on hand to play music (as we forgot to pack our own!) There is a well-maintained tennis court available to use and tennis rackets in the cabin ready to use... for a decent hit, advised to bring nice fresh tennis balls. It was lovely to sit outside and watch the birds. We will definitely stay here again.

Pleasant weekender

Good cabin for a short break. The location is great with easy access to the bush with nice walks. Lovely seeing the wildlife come to your door in the morning and wondering through the grounds. Beds were comfortable and bathroom looked to be recently updated. It was great to have tennis racquets and board games at hand, the kids found it fun. It was cold at night, so all the heating needed to be on. The kitchen is basic but ok for couple of days. Some things need to be updated, but still functional. Being remote you need to have all your supplies, there is not a lot room to store them, so consider bringing some additional portable storage for the kitchen and bedrooms. Annika was helpful when we needed to contact her. Thanks for a pleasant week.

Fantastic getaway in the bush. It ticked every box for us with the locality and beautifully appointed cabin. I loved being off grid from communication but still with mod cons.Will 100% return to stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay, it was great to get away and spend sometime out in nature. So many friendly birds to feed. It was just a really relaxing time really loved the board games. Our baby enjoyed the staircase to room upstairs, I think we spent most our time just following him up and down. Went out exploring to see ladies well and all the other roads around there, at this time of year the roads weren't too wet or slippy and we were able to get around with road tyres.
