Clean, comfortable house in a lovely location. However, pull out sofa was unusable because inflatable insert wouldn’t hold air. There were no working bedside lamps, no light blankets despite temperatures in the mid-80’s (only heavy comforters), and a strangely furnished kitchen with only two forks and a small number of coffee mugs, dinner plates, wine glasses, etc.

This house was perfect! Our son lives in the area and this house was just minutes away from him. The view of the river is fantastic. We even had Christmas decorations! My favorite perk was the heated toilet seat. My only suggestion would be better pillows.
Perfect location to enjoy the sunset.

Beautiful house

We enjoyed our 3 night stay. Home is beautiful as is the setting. New Bern is a very interesting town, with loads to see and do.

We needed a place to stay for a quick trip. This fit the bill perfectly. For us it was centrally located. House was clean, nice view and quiet neighborhood. We plan on renting again soon.

This home was clean and comfortable. We had great communication with the owner. The neighborhood was very nice. There was a good view of the water. No complaints.

Quick Trip

Easy check-in, fun/nice layout and everything in good shape. The dual shower head master bath was a hit. We had a nice 2 night visit.

our stay in March 2025

Loved the place, was clean and neat and the location was great as well. There were a couple of things such as the fridge not being cleaned out, a broken cabinet door, a broken chair and the blinds being in disrepair, but those things are normal and minor in nature. I was trying to get a particular channel to watch March madness, and the owner actually came over and tried to assist which is above and beyond!I would definitely recommend this property when visiting New Bern!!!

We had a problem with high tide and storm surge. Had to drive through standing water many times. Other than that, the place is very nice. I did have trouble the first night with our beds being sripped and no clean bedding to be found. That was corrected the following day. The owner offered to take us through the high water, but we decided to drive through. Overall a good experience.

Nice place to stay

The place was nice. It was clean, but there were a number of items broken—outside chair broke on family member, kitchen sink didn’t work until I changed the batteries on its pumping mechanism, bathroom towel rack was almost coming out of the wall, no lint catcher in dryer, dryer didn’t dry very well, a piece of siding off of a side of the house, and other small wearing and tear items. Dominic was very responsive to helping me. He even answered a phone call at midnight on the night of the check in—we had some trouble with the lock box. Evolve should note that the garage is NOT included and there is only a twin trundle in the loft (not a trundle and a twin bed). We had to extend the stay and Dominic helped in that process. Over all nice place to stay but does need a little TLC.

Disappointing for the price.

The house is nice but needed a lot of TLC. The check in was very inconvenient. We called to ask about a possibility of early check in. Didn’t get an answer. Left message. Received text back stating cleaner had been in accident so it wouldn’t be ready for early check in. We were almost there for our 4pm check in and received a text at 4:01 that it would be 5pm before we could check in because previous renters had pets. We had our boat so it was very inconvenient. We asked if we could park the boat on property until we could check in and were told yes but the same vehicle that had been on the property the day before was parked in the driveway blocking the space so we we’re unable to leave our boat. We waited outside of the residence for over an hour. During this time the owner of the property noticed us waiting and stopped by to try to get everything resolved. We’re were finally able to get in after 5pm. Then the property was unsanitary with grease on the floor in the kitchen and multiple other cleanliness issues. We fought ants the entire stay. There were multiple safety issues including broken step. The owner has been made aware as well as property manager.

Hi Lori, we want our guests to rest easy when they stay with us, and we sincerely apologize that your experience fell short of expectations. We followed up with the homeowner after reading your feedback, and they’d like to share the following:- We regret the inconvenience you faced with the delayed check-in. The cleaner’s car accident led to an unfortunate delay, and we understand how frustrating this was, especially with your boat. We have asked the management team to ensure better communication in the future.- The property is under a pest contract with Ridapest and they responded the next day to spray for ants. We’re sorry this impacted your stay, and future guests should not encounter this issue.- The kitchen floor has been professionally cleaned to address the grease, and the property will undergo a deep cleaning to resolve any other cleanliness issues.- The deck has been inspected, and the broken step has been replaced. The entire deck has been re-evaluated by a contractor to ensure there are no further safety concerns.- We will consider adding non-slip strips to the hall bath shower for additional safety, and explore additional options as well.- We are looking into the mini-blinds and the refrigerator has been thoroughly cleaned. We’re also ensuring all bedding is inspected after every guest stay and is replaced as needed to meet our cleanliness standards.We truly appreciate your understanding during this learning process and are confident that future guests will have a much-improved experience.
