Perfect location. Steps from the beach! The rooms were clean and it was nice to be able to come inside and cool off and have a place to park. My kids enjoyed the games that were there as well. We learned to stagger our return as there was only one bathroom and four of us, but it was a great weekend! I definitely would come again.

Absolute perfect and adorable! Super clean, steps from the beach and very comfortable! They have an abundance of everything like plates, dishes, cookware and silverware. Coffee maker, oven, microwave and toaster. The place was spotless when we arrived. I am so happy with our stay and we will be back next summer (if not sooner)!

Beautiful beach

Beautiful beach! Easy access to beach! Clean and comfortable accommodations! View obstructed due to dunes but still very short walk over dunes to beautiful beach.

Perfect location

We have stayed at the Salt Shack several times in the past. You can’t beat the location! The unit did not appear as clean as with previous stays…especially floors and countertops. But during this stay we encountered numerous water bugs (roaches) even on bed.

This kind of weather event can unfortunately cause bugs to move inside- We deeply value your feedback about cleanliness and will address the concerns with the cleaning team to ensure that the high standards you’ve experienced in the past are maintainedThanks again for your feedback. The Salt Shack

House was clean, and perfect for our little family. We had no issues the entire time we were there. And to our surprise there was a small washer and dryer! I was a little worried because it was not listed as having one. We walked almost everywhere and the beach is just a few steps away. Very satisfied with our stay and plan to stay again sometime.

Oak Island beach retreat

We were pleased with the facilities. Plenty of space, attractive, clean. The only problem for us (adults over 80) was that there were more steps up to the cottage than the pictures indicated. That was a problem for my husband. From the pictures in the advertisement, we were assuming 2-4 steps at most.

The only reason I didn't give 5-Stars for the overall review was because the AC wasn't cooling properly on the first day, wouldn't get below 79 to 80 deg. Couldn't be fixed. So, they installed new window units the next day and that kept us comfortable.

Great little spot on Oak Island. It is literally 20 steps to the beach which was great. The property was clean with clear parking for your vehicle. We rented a golf cart for the weekend, and there was adequate parking for it as well. I love touring around Oak Island. There are a lot of great drink and food places to enjoy. Can’t wait to go back!
