Dishes and dirt
This is a lovely property let down by a few issues.
Opening the dishwasher on day one I noticed an unpleasant smell, checked the filter which was in a disgusting state full of food debris and slime, cleaned and replaced but when when we set the machine going on day two it didn’t work properly, ie at the end of cycle dishes were not clean and machine was full of water. I reported the problem to the management company first thing the next day, we were eventually told that after having someone look at the machine, the owner had decided it would be best to replace the machine with a new one which arrive at 9.50 on the morning that we were leaving.
As I’m sure you can imagine, not having the use of the dishwasher on a self catering holiday is quite an inconvenience especially when the is no real provision to wash dishes by hand ie dish rack, gloves, dish brush etc and no offer from the agent to supply these.
We were fortunate enough to have great weather and decided to eat outside on the patio on our first evening and found the table and chairs were filthy and had to spend an hour cleaning them before we could use.
All the windows were very dirty on the outside, the inside of the property was generally clean but with one or two missed areas. I sent host Naomi Wolverson a text message asking her to contact me to discuss the issues we had but got no reply
It may well have been in the best interest of the owner to replace the dishwasher rather than have it repaired but not ours
