Portsalon makes for a wonderful base for exploring the Fanad Peninsula, and boasts a picturesque harbour at Ballymastocker Bay, where you will find one of the most spectacular beaches in Ireland. Visitors can try many outdoor pursuits in this region, including golf, surfing, fishing, diving and kayaking, or if you prefer to explore in comfort and style, then the Knockalla Coastal Road encompasses excellent seascapes and lake scenery. The historic town of Rathmullan, south of Portsalon, provides a lovely afternoon out, where you can take a tour of the Kinnegar Brewery and hopefully sample some of the local produce! With something for everyone, Portsalon is a wonderful location for discovering County Donegal and the North West.
