Everything was fantastic: communication, check in, the view, the pool, the location, etc. it was perfect for our family- the pool was fantastic to have after a long day at the beach. It was quiet and peaceful. My only suggestion to the cleaning staff would be it needs a deep clean especially in the kitchen (there is stuff spilled in the drawers and crumbs in the drawers next to clean dishes) otherwise it was fantastic. We created memories for a lifetime and plan to come back!

The house was great the location perfect. The management company Brunswick Vacation needs some help!! We asked about a grill and a large pot on the property the week before arriving and were told neither were available. Upon arrival not only was there a grill there was two, complete with operation instructions in the users manual with Brunswick Vacation listed on the letter head and each sheet of instructions. There were also 2 large pots!!! When I followed up with Brunswick they made it the owners problem??? Saying they must have added those items and they didn’t know??? The grill was years old for sure. Look, no worries we managed just fine but the management company needs to own up to the fact they don’t know what is going on with the property and just say sorry.

Great house - comfortable for 8 ladies to all have their own beds. Pool was a plus! Excellent location right on the beach - short walk over the dunes.

Girlfriends' Beach Trip

We were a group of 8 girlfriends on an annual beach trip. Aside from the weather, we had a very good stay. The property manager was very responsive and checked in several time during our visit. The property is conveniently located on the beach.

Early beach trip

Had a great time at this house. It was clean and the views were awesome. It's great watching the sun come up sipping a cup of coffee listening to the waves rolling in, and then in the evening watching the sun go down. Very relaxing!

Amazing place and trip

We come to Ocean Isle every year with the family. This is the first year we stayed at this home. We loved everything about it and even booked for next year before we left. The porch is amazing and the home was very clean. Thanks for sharing your home it is a wonderful place.

Relaxing Vacation with Beautiful Views

We had a great stay at the house! Beautiful views and the heated pool was the perfect addition to a relaxing vacation. All of the rooms were clean and had everything we needed. So nice to take a stroll on the beach at any time of day. The property managers were very accommodating and answered us right away when we needed bath mats. We will definitely be back!

Weekend Away

The location of the property is perfectly placed on the beachfront. There is plenty of room for two families of 5. The house is starting to show some wear and tear but nothing out of the ordinary. House was clean and property management was very responsive.

We had a wonderful week in Ocean Isle and really enjoyed our vacation overall. The location is excellent, with easy beach access, and the private pool was a huge hit with our family. The management company was responsive and easy to work with, and we appreciated thoughtful touches like the beach toys in the shed, trash service, and the complimentary ice cream truck on our last day.Our disappointment was with the house itself. We've rented beach houses in North Carolina for many years, and this was the most expensive home we've stayed in. Unfortunately, it was also the most disappointing.The listing photos are generally accurate, but they don't fully convey the age and overall wear of the home. While nothing was egregiously wrong, the house didn't feel especially well maintained or reflective of a premium rental. We noticed peeling outdoor furniture, cracks and patched areas on the ceilings and walls, a worn staircase, drawers that were difficult to open, and pool gate hardware that could use attention. Several members of our group also found the beds uncomfortable. The kitchen was surprisingly sparsely equipped for a home at this price point, and the towels felt small and low quality.None of these issues ruined our vacation - we had a fantastic week and made wonderful family memories. However, for a home at this price point, we expected a higher level of upkeep, comfort, and overall quality.

Nice property

Property was nice. Clean and good location, Rob, the property manager was very responsive to any questions. Property didn’t have as many amenities as some of the other homes we have stayed at in OIB. No games, and a little short on some kitchen amenities, but otherwise, it was good.

Everything was perfect!

We had the best time. The house was perfect for us, our children and grandchildren! The house was clean and well stocked. The management was very responsive responding to our questions within minutes. It truly was like being home but with the ocean in our backyard. Beautiful beach! Only one extremely minor hiccup - could use a new can opener. 🤗

Pirate’s Booty is in a great location, but the home felt cramped for our group. We made it work, though the usable living space was tighter than expected.The property also had significant cleanliness and maintenance issues. The floors were extremely dirty; even after the main floor was remopped, we purchased a mop and cleaned them ourselves multiple times. We also found hair in a shower drain, an unclean bath mat, buildup in the washer gasket and shower grout, excessive dryer lint, a worn broom, and no vacuum available.More concerning were several safety issues: a detached interior stair spindle, unsecured deck railing spindles, and an upper bunk guardrail broken at two of its three attachment points. We did not use that bunk. There was also exposed wiring from a missing outdoor light and a broken deck chair. Several ocean-facing windows had failed seals that significantly obstructed the view.To management’s credit, they were responsive and addressed several items, including the chair, light, graffiti, bathroom, and part of the flooring. They also said the deck railing and bunk guardrail would be repaired.The property has potential, but it needs deeper cleaning, proactive maintenance, and stronger safety inspections before I would recommend it, especially for families with young children.

Master and one other br mattress were terrible. Grill was filthy, we cleaned it. Other grill had a coat hanger for a handle. LR furniture dirty. Need more silverware, we cleaned the oven. The layout was great, we liked the pool and closeness to the beach.

Great Holiday, Comfy Beds

We are a group of over 60s women. The location was great. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were very clean. There were a couple of nice Trex rockers on the porch and fabulous beach chairs available. The pool was clean and so was most of the house. It appeared that some grungy pirates had been hanging out here before us, though. There was a shower curtain liner that was beyond cleaning, so we threw it out. The upholstery on the inside and outside furniture was noticeably dirty, too many pirates using it, I guess. We visited at the end of the season, so I imagine everything will be cleaned and Pirates Booty will be ship shape soon, if it isn’t already. Ahoy!

The bday stay

Beds are hard. Roaches are big. Metal beds with metal springs are terribly uncomfortable and need to be replaced with real beds. The appliances, dish washer and stove, have broken parts that need to be permanently fixed. The door knob needs to be replaced. That door frame needs to be shaved for easier access from the porch. We liked the addition so cameras on the parking level and codes to enter the cottage. We stayed at this cottage when it was brand new and for many summers afterwards. The improvements are ver nice. We have been updating the home and have some of the mattresses on the list. The palmetto bugs are big and when we get a tons of rain for storms they make their way inside, but we spray regulary. Knob as been replaced. Thanks for coming! We hope to host you again soon!

We wanted to love it, but not as nice as we had hoped based on previous beachfront experiences in OIB. Management company was great to work with— very professional and responsive where they could be when we expressed concerns. However, not all of our problems could be addressed during our stay because they were long-term, chronic maintenance/upkeep issues that appear to have been long overlooked. In short, the home and its furnishings are very tired and in need of deep cleaning, inspection, and refresh. Pros: very responsive and professional rental company, well-maintained pool, good location in OIB, well stocked beach gear closet Cons: very worn and stained living room furniture that needs to be replaced, saggy and uncomfortable mattresses, creaky bed frames, big cockroach problem (NOT water bugs as the sign on the fridge tries to explain), gnat/drain fly problem in the kitchen, disappointing main deck (worn wooden decking, upper deck doesn’t protect it from the rain, tattered table and chairs, no rocking chairs or Adirondacks), two of the showers leaked water under the shower doors and drenched the bathroom floors, various smaller maintenance issues (broken blinds in the kitchen, not enough lamps throughout the house, wobbly handrails, disorganized kitchen, closets with random decor and clutter, etc)

Unbelievably beautiful!

When you open the door and step into this place, it takes your breath away. It is really that pretty. Everything is new and updated, and there are things there to make your stay more comfortable, even little items like a garlic press, or tons of great skillets. Wonderful view, plenty of seating and open spaces… And the pool was a nice touch… I believe it was heated. The ocean is very close by, and there are two levels of balconies, one for kids and family, and one on the upper level for a more private viewing of the ocean. The only complaint that I have is there was a slight misunderstanding with some of our belongings when we arrived in the inspection crew accidentally picked them up and took them. But the host was kind enough to replace some of our bath towels, and had them sent over right away. also, the banister to the upper bedrooms is a little wobbly, and one of the spokes kept popping out, but maintenance came over immediately to fix it, but I believe it needs a little bit more attention. Also, it would be nice if there were rugs in the master bathroom, the shower doors are glass and the floors are slick when wet and it was sometimes tough to maneuver safely. Really these are very minor things, the host always responded quickly to any question that I had, even on Mother’s Day! And I cannot express enough how absolutely beautiful this place is in person. The pictures don’t do it justice.
