Semi-oceanfront, 4 bedroom, with a hot tub in quiet South Nags Head!

Scooters' Hideaway offers authentic South Nags Head charm with wonderful updates and the beach is just steps away on a quiet, private street. Sectional seating in the main living area offers views of the ocean and the large flat screen TV . Or you can soak in the ground-level hot tub. There is plenty of sleeping with 3 queens and 2 twins and each room has its own TV. Even the ground level is inviting with furniture, a grill, a private outdoor shower, and corn hole for a relaxing place to hang out when you're not enjoying the nearby beach. There is a multi-use path for biking, walking or riding and residential only zoning affords a peaceful place to hideaway at Scooters!
South Nags Head is arguably the best location on the Outer Banks for a family vacation. It is a totally residential area enveloped by the Cape Hatteras National Seashore yet is only minutes from a variety of retail and recreational outlets (Jennette's Pier, Tanger Outlet Mall, many restaurants). Families will find the quiet, low-traffic and non-commercial atmosphere relaxing yet appreciate how easy it is to drive to the grocery store, restaurants, the movie theater, or a putt-putt course. The large multi-use path that parallels Old Oregon Inlet Road for its 4.5 mile length and is great for running, biking, or walking. Oregon Inlet Fishing Center is a full service marina with boat ramps and is just a couple of miles south of Scooter's Hideaway if you need a convenient location for offshore or inshore boating and fishing.

Dirty mold broken old house

This house was dirty and mold growing everywhere in the house. We took lots of pictures that we will be sharing with the rental company. Drawers broken and all appliances etc was old very old. This house needs lots of repairs. The smell in the house when you first walked in was awful. We had to buy lots of candles and plug ins . It was really bad to stay a week in a house that is not what we paid for. The rental agent was very rude and nasty yelling and screaming on the phone very unprofessional and she hung up on us and we called back and left a message and not one word from them. I would not recommend this house to no one.

Family vacation

We really enjoyed the proximity to the beach and the hot tub. The house was comfy but had an issue with bugs and could have been cleaner (shower drains full of hair). Overall we had a great time and were glad we could bring our dogs!

Scooter's Hideaway

Location is Excellent! Loved being so close to the beach and the quiet neighborhood. We liked that it was removed from the commercial section of Nags Head but easy to get to if we wanted. Overall, our stay was wonderful. We realize the property is "dog friendly" but felt the house was not as clean as it could be. Spots on the sectional smelled like urine and carpets had spots which I assume were urine from animals. A deep clean would be recommended in those areas and a thorough mopping between tenants suggested.

Not clean

Mold on shower curtains, bugs, woodwork dirty particularly in bathrooms, utensil drawers need to be cleaned out as well as pots & pans. Several of them were still greasy. Drawers in bedrooms needed vacuum, oven did not heat properly. Two of the bedrooms had no mirrors. Overall, we would not rent it again. As a manager for years, I would have an inspection completed often.

Just what we were looking for!

We loved the location to the beach! Just a quick walk up the drive way and you were there. Nice sized living area room and front yard. Our only complaint is that the floor was rather dirty under furniture and the hardwood floor was really dusty and covered in dog hair since it is a pet friendly location. We ended up sweeping to make ourselves more comfortable. Would definitely rebook!
