Excellent stay

We had a great visit. The location is perfect, close to Asheville and very near downtown Black Mountain. The house was very nice and well cared for. We had everything we needed.

The Ultimate Mountain Retreat

Had a great Thanksgiving with our family and pup! Beautiful property, great location, and the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept on. Looking forward to coming back, soon!

Wonderful visit!

The house was clean and in a great location! Easy drive to anywhere we wanted to go. We enjoyed the space and the house had everything we needed. Black Mountain and Asheville have so many great family activities- we’ll have to come back again!

Bear Walk Cottage

This house was perfect for my 4 day stay in Black Mountain! Close to all the fun shops, restaurants and breweries in both Black Mountain and Asheville. The house was cozy, clean and comfortable.

This property is beautiful. It has everything you need to have an amazing stay. It’s so conveniently located to great hiking, beautiful Black Mountain, and Asheville. Finally someone understands about blackout curtains in a bedroom😉

Best place to stay in Black Mountain!!

We stayed several days at Bear Walk Cottage in Black Mountain for a late summer getaway. The location was very convenient to shops, restaurants and many beautiful drives through the surrounding mountains. The cottage was so tastefully decorated and spotless! The owners thought of every detail to make our stay comfortable. We highly recommend Cragmont Rentals and especially Bear Walk Cottage. ❤️

We saw an actual bear!

Really enjoyed this home. Quiet location. Loaded with thoughtful "extras" it is what we wish every VRBO was like and very tastefully decorated. Seemed way bigger on inside than it looks on the outside!

Very clean and brand new

This is a very clean, extremely well stocked, and beautifully decorated home. Good space and nice baths. About 1.5 miles walking distance to Black Mountain shops and restaurants.

One of the best vacation rental experiences ever. The house was spotless and extremely well provisioned. We had everything we needed to be comfortable from the first minute. Amazing collection of cooking equipment - best we’ve ever seen. A delight.

Birthday getaway

This place was very nice, very clean and adorably decorated. We were there during the hurricane and with no power, for this I would recommend getting candles and more flashlights. I would recommend this place to others and I hope when I return to the area it’ll be available.

Ultra convenient and comfy

Four of us 40-plus-year-olds were in Asheville for a soccer tournament over Labor Day weekend, and this house was a short drive from the fields and offered a perfect respite due to its size, location, and hot tub. Absolutely ideal, and I could also see it being perfect for families who want to be near both town and country.

Great Plan To Stay

We went up for a brief stay to visit with family and friends. The cottage was very clean and had great updates. We actually got to see a baby bear visit one of the apple trees in the back yard. That made for an exciting night. The area is great to visit. We enjoyed the lake and recreation pool in the area. Great walking areas. Thanks for allowing us to stay in such a beautiful place.

New inside and out with EVERYTHING!

Many vacation properties skimp in areas.....not this one. FULLY stocked kitchen with everything to live there, bake, entertain, you name it. Quality furnishings and beautifully decorated. Quick drive or Uber to Black Mountain and Asheville. We will stay again. We e didn't take pets but they even had a dog bed and dishes.

Beautiful Black Mountain

This house was perfect for my girlfriend and me. The house was clean, had new appliances, a fully stocked kitchen, nice bathrooms and bedrooms with everything we needed. Great recommendations for things to do and easy communication with the owners. We wanted a few days away to hike and enjoy nature and this provided just that. We wanted to be close to Asheville for food and breweries but spent most of our time in Black Mountain instead. Black Mountain had a wonderful downtown area, plenty of shops, and places to eat as well as drink. So happy we decided to stay here!

Great place to stay in Black Mountain!!

This was a lovely place to stay, a bit out of town, but also close to everything in Black Mountain, and only 20 minutes away from everything in Asheville! It was quiet and clean and had 4 beds, which was really nice. This was one of the more well equipped places I have stayed. We rent homes often for family trips. They had every pan, utensil and dish you could need. And the property management company was also very communicative and easy to reach when I had questions before I booked. I got many email reminders, which I really appreciated with all of the information that I needed before we arrived. I would definitely stay here again in the future!

The property was as described. Very clean and the kitchen was beyond well stocked. I did try to contact the property manager at the number given and did not get a call back. I called Cottonwood and my question was answered.

Wonderful property that was perfect for our family of 6. The house was clean and well appointed. Especially the kitchen! Our stay was short so we didn't cook, but if we had been there longer, we definitely would have made use of the air fryer and the instant pot. They had all the traditional pots and pans you might need. They even had a solid selection of spices and "basics" (flour, sugar, salt, pepper), so if you do want to cook you don't have to buy every little thing. They also had enough dishes and cups for our family (not always the case for rentals unfortunately). The house is a short drive from downtown Black Mountain and so the location was very convenient. If we ever need to stay in Black Mountain again, we will definitely be booking Bear Walk Cottage again!!
