Originally we wanted a place on either the canal or Bay and we wanted a 2-bedroom. This is neither. So why was this the one?
The property has excellent views of both Back Bay and the canal- something we would not have gotten if we were on either. When we stayed on the canal, we would have to constantly watch our grandkids and special needs son- making sure no one feel in, as there are no fences. With this property we have the views, but do not have to worry about anyone falling in. Plus, we now have a large, private backyard- something the water properties do not allow for, as they are much smaller. There is plenty of space to bring all of your gear, to play, to eat, to relax, to be.
This place has a large, open feel when you walk in. It feels like a home. No one feels like they are on top of each other, with plenty of space to relax. If we had a bunk room, it would take up a lot of living space, be very cramped and have small beds. My 6'2" son simply did not fit in them any longer. We have created a special sleeping nook for him and he loves it. He can see the large tv from his bed and is close to any snack he might want. What teenager wouldn't love that set-up.
The great room also has a sofa bed than can fit 1-2 children/med size adults. There is so much space, even with the sofa bed out, there is still room for others to sit on the sofa, for the recliner on the other end of the sofa to be out and the separate recliner to be fully reclined. And to still walk around!
There is also a great deal of storage for your belongings, so everything will have a place.
One more bonus, we have a sound system that allows you to play music on the deck, in the kitchen, in the great room all at the same time or in any combination you want. Dancing on the deck, under the stars is a definite possibility. At night and early morning, you can clearly hear the sound of the ocean from the deck (or inside if the windows are open).
