Camp Milson - Flathead Lake 10 BD Retreat w Private Lake Access, 8 acres
Camp Milson is an 8-acre luxury family retreat located on Flathead Lake with 300 linear feet of lake access and 3 private boat docks. Located in the Gold Coast area of Bigfork, just 5 minutes south of town and grocery stores, this is the best location on the lake! Milson offers the modern, luxurious amenities of a boutique resort in a beautiful natural setting. There are 3 homes, a Trapper Cabin and a Tipi on the property.
The Day Cabin is on the upper level and is a 2-level log cabin home custom built in 2022, designed by renowned MT architect Larry Pearson, built with reclaimed wood logs from an 1880s Montana homestead. This cabin features high-vaulted ceilings with reclaimed wood beams from an old Wisconsin barn, a large stone fireplace, indoor/outdoor access, central AC and ceiling fans. The kitchen is equipped with a Viking gas range, Subzero refrigerator, All-Clad pots/pans and everything you need to prepare a gourmet meal. Mattresses have been furnished by the W Hotel and Crate & Barrel with luxury linens from Brooklinen. The bunk room downstairs has a 65" smart TV as well as a pool table and is ideally suited for kids. There is a separate outdoor entrance for the upstairs and downstairs levels - the 2 levels are not connected.
Below the Day Cabin, there are 2 mid-century homes (Glass House and Cherry Cabin) along with an outdoor pavilion. Enjoy one of 3 private boating docks and the crystal clear waters of Flathead Lake (please note - boats CANNOT be parked on the docks overnight).
Max capacity is 22 people total (max of 14 adults due to bunk layout).
There are 5 structures on the property:
Day Cabin with beds to sleep 8-
Upstairs: Full gourmet kitchen, living room, stone fireplace, powder bathroom, and Primary Bedroom with king-size bed (upstairs) with private bathroom. Downstairs: King-size bed w/1 twin bed in nook and seating area shares an entrance and bathroom with bunk room (downstairs): 4 Twin-sized beds (two bunk bed sets). Please note that the upstairs and downstairs of cabin are connected through exterior stairs so if you have young kids that need to be close to their parents, the parents would need to sleep in the downstairs bedroom. Due to the bed configuration, the Day Cabin is best for 4 adults and 4 kids. Bedrooms 2 and 3 share a bathroom downstairs.
The Glass House has 3 BD/2 BA, with beds to sleep 8-
Three bedroom house with upstairs Master bedroom (king bed), bathroom, main kitchen, living room and dining room. Downstairs is the family room, laundry, bunk room (4 twins), bathroom and glass room (2 twins). Please note the glass room is attached to the house but accessible via 10 steps outside from the main house downstares and shares a bathroom with the downstairs bunk room. Elderly folks who use the bathroom at night usually prefer not to sleep in the glass room. The Glass House has a 800 sf outdoor deck
Cherry Cabin, 2 bd/1ba with beds to sleep 4-
Two bedroom house with Master bedroom (king size bed), Junior bedroom (2 twins), full-size kitchen, living room, family room, laundry, and shared bathroom. Sleeps 4. Cherry Tree Cabin has a 400 sf outdoor deck
Trapper Cabin- A fully screened outdoor cabin with 1 split king bed or two twin XL beds for those that want more of a camping vibe but also want comfortable beds. No electricity, only solar lights. Trapper Cabin is located between the Glass House and Cherry Cabin with a private entrance. (Please note Trapper Cabin shares a bathroom with Glass House bunk room downstairs, about 20 feet away)
There is also a 20' Tipi on property that is an authentic Crow Indian Tipi that was set up by Crow Indians in a traditional Tipi Ceremony in 2020. Tipi has no electricity with four foldable twin cots. We do not recommend overnight sleeping as it is somewhat open to the elements, even with the solid wood floor. (Please note Tipi shares a bathroom with Glass House bunk room downstairs about 30 feet away). The Tipi is nestled between four trees and faces East, as tradition, for the sunrise. Each of the 15 poles has meaning - Obedience, Respect, Humility, Happiness, Love, Faith, Kinship, Cleanliness, Thankfulness, Share, Strength, Good Child Rearing, Hope, Ultimate Protection, Control Flaps from Wind.
You can rent boats, kayaks and stand-up paddle boards from a local outfitter who will deliver to the Camp! You can go swimming, boating, tubing, jet skiing, paddle boarding or fly fishing. Hiking and mountain biking trails are nearby. Take a morning walk and see the deer and wild turkey roam freely. Or, walk down to the boat dock for 180 degree views of Flathead Lake. The Eagle Bend Golf Club and Montana Athletic Club are also just a 5 minute drive away.
***No pets allowed. Before booking a reservation, persons with disability-related needs for animals must request an accommodation for waiver of policies prohibiting animals or fees/costs for animals; receive approval prior to bringing the animal to the site; and once approved to have the animal on site must comply with applicable laws and site rules applicable to animals. Please request the form when you make your reservation. If you bring a pet without previous approval, you will have the option to find other lodging for your pet within 24 hours, or end your rental immediately without a refund and forfeit your security deposit. You will also be charged an additional $1000 upholstery cleaning fee.**
Please note this is a residential area with quiet hours between 10pm and 7am. Please be considerate of our friendly neighbors and do not play outdoor music or have large gatherings outside during these hours.
At the camp, there is Starlink satellite internet access. Internet access can be spotty at the camp so this is your chance to unplug! There are also two 65" smart TVs (both downstairs) and a washer/dryer.
**Minimum age requirement of 25 years old**
In the summer, enjoy all the watersports imaginable at Flathead Lake, the largest freshwater lake west of the Mississippi in the lower 48! Glacier National Park is also close by with the breathtaking Going-To-The-Sun Road, Lake McDonald, and 70+day hikes! Make sure you take time to experience downtown Bigfork boasting shops, galleries, restaurants and the Bigfork Summer Playhouse. I'm a designer who dreamed of building a retreat that would allow our guests to escape into a place of relaxation and inspiration. This camp is designed to facilitate all of these things. Much consideration has been put into the furniture choices and design of the home as we wanted a camp that was rustic, yet modern, comfortable and relaxing. The majority of the furniture is handmade by local craftsmen as the talent in Flathead Valley is best in class. We have lived in Bigfork for more than 14 years. For us, Bigfork is paradise.
Perché ha scelto questa struttura
After visiting the Flathead Lake area, we fell in love with the town, the people, and the beautiful scenery. This is our second property in Bigfork and the lakeside property we always dreamed about. The camp is located on a quiet street with only a handful of homes and we are at the end of a cul-de-sac.
Cosa rende unica questa struttura
Get a chance to unplug from the daily grind and stress of everyday life while being surrounded by the best design and architecture. You will immediately be taken to a level of relaxation from the moment you land in Montana!
We love the outdoors but believe glamping is the best way to do it!
