Great for Sleeping, not for Cooking
Good value for this 4 bedroom home, but be aware that this is not a home for cooking or spending a lot of time there. If you want a place to shower and sleep with lots of space and great air conditioning, this is the place for you. Bare bones furnished, as you can see by the photos. The beds were new and most were comfortable. Some strange aspects of this home: no mattress pads, not enough towels yet there were other items you might not expect. The kitchen has few cooking supplies, no microwave and the dishwasher does not clean the dishes. I contacted the host and she immediately went out to buy a whole set of flatware, plastic cups and more plates. She also brought over a usable skillet and pan large enough to boil pasta. We were grateful for that!
Plenty of hot water for showers and doing laundry. No towel bars in one bath, one in other bath. Half bath downstairs had a hand towel and hand soap. Showers had hotel-like soap dispensers. No washcloths.
This house is in a quiet neighborhood and has combination security locks on the doors of every bedroom that lock automatically. This could be good for some renters but was annoying and a potential safety issue with small children.
We booked this home 8 months in advance for the weekend of the eclipse. Then just 9 days before we were to arrive, the host cancelled our arrival day. After much pleading she reinstated our original arrival day saying she would “work with the contractor.” Phew!
