Not exactly what we expected
This rental is a mixed bag--my pros/cons
Pros
Easy check in
Host was communicative with issues
Kids had fun with kayaks and hot tub
Spacious
Cons
Bedding situation not accurate (no second futon in living room as description states)
Clean only on surface (crumbs in living room futon, dirt swept under rugs, dishwasher & oven both dirty)
Furniture was iffy-Multiple furniture pieces kept losing bolts/screws
Dirty sweatshirt was left in the bedroom (it was there when we checked in)
There were ants in kitchen-We ended up purchasing bug spray
The smoke alarm in one bedroom began chirping at 4:00 a.m. (host was responsive to fixing it by noon the next day)
The trash can we were supposed to use to empty our trash was full upon arrival. Host collected trash, but threw it behind hot tub fence, so it smelled horrible while in the hot tub
Our boys rescued the sunken Jon boat, up righted, cleaned, & beached it for the next guests
The biggest issue we had with the place is it was definitely not how described. There's a lot of construction in the area & next to the hot tub is a construction dump site with piles of lumber and marble slabs.This area was VERY busy. We understood the distance to walk to the hot tub and pond, but we were not told that cars would be flying down the one lane road we were supposed to walk on.There were a lot of people on the road (construction workers, men working in the permanent shed, etc) & our girls did not feel safe walking to the hot tub.
