Elevator for the win

Rating Details: The vacation rental was clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Nice place. For the amount of cleaning fees it could have been cleaner.

We would have been appreciative of the cleanliness feedback during your stay so that we could rectify that if you found that the house was not clean. We do leave a cleaning review card in the Welcome Bag and ask that you text a picture of that to our team so that we can be sure to address any issues at the beginning of your stay, but we did not receive yours. We'd love to know what the issues were so we can address those, feel free to email or text us directly!

Location good. Cleanliness is lacking

Rating Details: The property manager was very unhelpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location is very close to the beach. The house itself was not very clean. Washing machine had mold in it. Furniture is outdated. Elevator did not function correctly. The pool.was not clean. The hot tub was not clean. The pool furniture and deck furniture was ok but some of it was broken. Some of the deck areas were outdated and needed work. The rental company was not responsive when we alerted them to issues. Paid a good deal of money to rent the house but not really worth it.

Perfect for families with multigenerational members

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our third year at this property. It is perfect! It’s close enough to walk to the beach and has a private pool. The master suite is upstairs on the third floor so the grandparents stayed up on the third floor while the rest of us were on the first floor and less likely to disturb the grandparents. The neighborhood is quiet and well kept. It is a drive from most of the restaurants on the island but we prefer to cook and stay in. We love our time at this house each year!

This is the second time we have stayed in this house. It’s literally perfect for our family. It had everything you would need, the pool is great if you have little ones or need a break from the beach, and beach access is really close. The ONLY negative I can say is that when we stayed in 2023 we had a great view, and in 2025 they are building a house DIRECTLY in front of it so you can barely see the ocean between the houses. It was really disappointing. Overall though, beautiful house, well maintained, loved the decks. The washer did have some mold in it and the cleaning was questionable, but nothing enough to take away from the house itself. Our family would definitely recommend! Thanks for a great vacation! :)

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We had a wonderful stay at Just Shellaxin! We needed to contact Landmark Management a couple of times during our trip and they were extremely prompt and attentive. The house is beautiful and was impeccably clean. It had all of the supplies we needed to cook nearly every meal at home (we hardly ever went out for food). Appliances are all in working order, the pots and pans were so great I think maybe they were brand new! The wifi is speedy with four adults and two teenagers on devices and streaming TV at night, there were no problems. We'd recommend Landmark and this house specifically to anyone!

Great place to relax for a week

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Brought our adult children and spouses for the week. Nice location. Home was well maintained and wonderfully equipped. Pool and hot tub were clean and a great way to start or end your beach day. Kitchen was very well equipped. Wish there was seating at the table for everyone or at least a chair of the same height that could be used. Other suggestion would be a grill by the pool area as well as more outdoor seating. I would absolutely rent this house again. The construction noise from across the street was only audible on one day and it wasn’t too bad. The community and boardwalk was safe, clean and well maintained.

Summer Vacation

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Only complaint was I sent a text that the fridge was not getting cold. Reply was "it takes 24-hours to return to its optimal temp. Text 9:30am Monday again. they stated "they put a request in". didn't hear from them on Tuesday and text them again. Replied " they would be there between 4-7. Came Tuesday and fixed. Had to thaw out motor and system running to Fridge. Three days of warm food and drinks.

Great house but miserable leaving the island

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The house is great. Can't say enough about the house. The cleaning crew does an awesome job. The beach is less than the desirable. At high tide, there is almost no beach. Leaving the island on Saturday was the worst experience I've had on a Carolina beach vacation. It took 2.5 hours to get over the bridge - no accidents, no construction and no police help. With all the info you get from the management company, you would think they would give a little advice that you need to leave the island before 8 on Saturday. I'm shock the owners and rental companies haven't raised this issue with the city government. Great house, but we won't be back to Topsail during the summer months.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We returned here for the second year and loved it once again! It was very clean, had all the supplies we needed, and the pool and beach access are terrific. The only thing that was slightly less than perfect is the fourth floor (master suite) bedroom would not get cool, no matter what we tried. It was probably 5-10 degrees warmer than the rest of the house for the duration of our stay. It wasn't bad enough that in impacted the comfort of our stay TOO much, but it also wasn't terribly hot while we were in town. Once it gets hotter outside, it could become a bigger issue. But everything else was amazing, and we hope to return once again!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Just Shellaxin was a lovely home with quick access to the beach and beautiful views. Unfortunately we were there during a tropical storm and were grateful for the pool and hot tub as the beach was basically flooded. My only suggestions would be to have containers for storage of left over food and more board games and puzzles geared toward kids. The one 1,000 piece puzzle that was there we finished in 24 hours. Of course that could have been due to the ugly weather. Also, one bath towel per person for a full week is not adequate, two would have been appreciated. All that being said, we would rent the house again as it was very comfortable for an extended family.
