The location was great! Close to town, but still with lots of trees. Loved that there was a dehumidifier to use. We emptied it at least 2x per day. Little things like having some detergent to wash some clothes was very thoughtful and appreciated. Hot tub on the balcony was a nice place to unwind

Steven was an excellent host. The house was very nice - comfy beds, nice and clean, and we enjoyed the pool table as well as having coffee on the front porch. The only drawback was a musty smell. You'll definitely want to use the dehumidifier and empty it ofter.

We sure did enjoy hosting Anne. She mentioned a musty smell. This home just like all the homes in Chalet Village is located in a mountainous wooded area. We are also located in the Southern Appalachian mountains and we experience a sub tropical climate in the summer months. This results in a humid environment in the home. For our guests who prefer a less humid environment, we provide a dehumidifier. Once turned on, the humidity in the home will drop to less that 50% in less than 2 hours.

Everything at the property was great. I just think that when we pay for house cleaning fees and service fees, I would expect the house to be a little cleaner. Table was sticky and dirty. We dropped something on the floor and when I went to go clean it up underneath the couches and tables, it was just like leftover food, leftover crumbs, game pieces, belongings from other people, socks. so obviously it was not cleaned. It probably was just wiped down, but other than that, the description of the house was exactly what it was listed. It was just, I expected a little bit more out of the cleaning

Wonderful house in amazing location. Just a few min from the park and gaitlinburg, but feels secluded when you are there. House was very clean, host was very communicative, but we didnt need anything because the couse was set up so well. Highly recomend!

Awesome Views

Wonderful place and had some good views. The host was very accommodating and I thank him for it. We did see some wildlife there. I will use this place in the near future again.

Love watching the bears

Love seeing the bears there was lots of them and a couple times we was locked in the cabin because one and her cubs was on the top deck.

Perfect Getaway!

The property was exactly what we were looking for. It was quiet, relaxing, and nature was abundant as we saw so many black bears come onto the property. Beautiful views of the sky at night. The roads up are a little sketchy but we took our time and got around safely.

Spring Break

We loved staying in your Chalet for our spring break trip. It was spacious and comfortable for our family. All amenities we needed were available and the pool table was a big hit with our 15 year old twins. The highlight of our stay was seeing a bear and her 3 cubs come down the mountain and across the stream.

Wonderful home!

This home is absolutely beautiful and in a even more beautiful location. The host kept in touch with us during our visit. Home was clean, and it is described accurately in the listing. We were even visited by the neighborhood baby bears. I definitely recommend this home if you want a beautiful, clean, spacious place to stay!

Peace, quiet and Bears oh my!

The chalet was great and relaxing in morning and night. Had 3 bear visits in the week which was awesome. Only bad was that most of the pool cue's had no tips. I would definitely come back.

Wonderful cabin the woods

We had a wonderful 5 nights at this cabin! We met family from out of town and thoroughly enjoyed the quaint and quiet neighborhood! The drive up the mountain is fun and very hilly! And we got to see so many bears while staying here! Lock your cars! The hot tub was so relaxing after walking all day in town! Beds are comfortable and having laundry is wonderful! We will be back for sure!

Family Mountain Getaway

We had a great time 😊 The property is clean and the chalet looks amazing esp on the inside. Everything is clean, organized and well thought off. It has a great Kitchen that we love cooking for Breakfast located on the 2nd floor where everyone can socialize clise to the billiard table. 5-8 min to Downtown Gatlinburg, Location is great. I love that the masters bedroom has its own bathroom. Would definitely recommend and maybe stay longer next time

Nice home.

Property was okay. Lacked some basic essentials in the kitchen (pot holders, baking dish) but overall was nice stay. Had awful aroma of the fire place that at times would get worse. (Didnt use bc its summer time) did have bears visit our 1st couple of days which we thoroughly enjoyed!

Relaxing Family Vacation

This was first time at this property. Owner was great to communicate with and did so promptly. You are away from the noise to relax and lots to do at the residence, but close enough any activities including downtown Gatlinburg in 10 minutes, Pigeon Forge 15-20 minutes away. Amenities were great. Pools were an easy drive to get to and very nice. Would recommend this to families especially with older kids and teens. Also if you don’t want to get out Doordash delivers. Very handy!

Great space

Steve was great with sending details of the property as well as local activities. The home was a great space and was as described. The family loved the pool table. It was a great addition to the house. The only downside was the mattress in the master bedroom was bad and there was a significant amount of mold in the shower in the master bedroom. It was pretty bad. Thanks

We really enjoy providing our home to visitors and we are very pleased Dennis and his family enjoyed their stay. His family were great guests ! The mattress in the master bedroom is a full pillow top mattress. We receive many compliments as you can read in past reviews but once in a while a guest prefers some other mattress. The master bath has no mold. The adhesive we used under the shower door caulking is a darker color and we believe Dennis mistook that for mold.

Perfect location

Loved this property! It was a super short drive to downtown Gatlinburg, Ober, and still fairly quick to get to Pigeon Forge, yet it was far enough from the chaos of Gatlinburg to be quiet and restful. It was convenient enough that we could go back to the chalet for breaks during the day. My family really enjoyed having a pool table and separate bedrooms. The space was clean and comfortable. If you plan to do much cooking I do recommend bringing a few of your own basic cookware. Pots and pans are provided, but like most rental properties guests are rough on them so it is nice to have backup.

Unsafe, Poorly Maintained, Not Worth the Price We encountered a large bear immediately at arrival that had chewed through the exterior into the bedroom! The host knew about the extremely active bear situation but didn't warn us until 1.5 hours after check-in. Bears appeared daily. They got in & on cars. Security & maintenance were also terrible. The host gave US the EXACT SAME door access code used by the week prior guest. The roof leaked causing my daughter to slip. The cabin was worn and can use some TLC. Pans desperately need updated, door frames & shower tiles were coming of, kitchen sink wouldnt shut off.Instead of enjoying vacation, we spent the week dealing with wildlife personnel & repairs. Cleaning practices are concerning. Despite a large cleaning fee, guests must strip beds, empty fireplace ashes, wash & put away dishes.We were warned that dishes in the cupboards might be dirty bc cleaners don’t wash them. While we dealt with the bear breach, the host monitored his parking camera and falsely accused us of extra guests (neighbors looking at bear in trap). He focused on surveillance over our safety, then tried to back out of promised 1 day refund. Vrbo had to intervene to compensate us from their own funds after reviewing our safety, privacy, security, and other concerns. With bears breaching the house without warning, leaks, reused security codes, intrusive monitoring, and an unhelpful host, this stay was a nightmare. I would not recommend this property to anyone.

Cozy Chalet

We really enjoyed our stay in this cozy chalet. You can tell the owners take good care of it. The downstairs has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. They are dated and the bedding looked dated, but overall everything was clean and the beds were very comfortable. I would suggest updating the bedding. Maybe have extra pillows on the beds too. More towels in the bathroom would have been useful for the nights you want to jump in the spa. The upstairs has the living areas, kitchen and extra bathroom. We loved hanging out up there! Everything was so nice and comfortable. Thank you for providing games to play and books to read. We all really enjoyed them! Overall we loved our vacation and would definitely stay here again.

We appreciate this guest providing honest feedback. This guest left the home in very good condition and it was delight hosting her ! We do get a lot of positive comments about the layout of the large upstairs great room. The open layout is great for large groups socializing. The bedroom furniture is less than 4 years old and are from Broyhill. However, since she thought it was worth mentioning, we will find some changes we can make to enhance the satisfaction. Had excellent weekend with grandkids and great skiing

The house was perfect for our family. The bedrooms were downstairs and easily accessible from car parking area. The upstairs was all open with great views. The fireplace was fantastic. We all enjoyed roasting marshmallows and listening to the fire crackle. The kitchen was well equipped and we had everything we needed. The grandchildren were excited about the hot tub and the pool table. We noticed an issue with the hot tub when we checked in. We called Steve, the owner. Our plan was to ski at OberGatlinburg on Saturday and enjoy the hot tub later. When we returned to the house after skiing Steve already had the hot tub fixed!! The home was warm and we appreciated the comfortable feel of the rental. Our family fit right in and enjoyed our weekend together.

Family Time

To future renters of Cedarbrook Chalet,please be aware in advance of VERY HEAVY BEAR ACTIVITY! We did not receive advance warning until the first morning of our stay when we received an email stating this fact. There were bears everywhere, at the Club pool on S. Baden and even in fact on our deck by the hot tub . We arrived on 6-2-23 and were supposed to stay till 6-8-23 however after several close ( within 20 feet ) encounters I have pictures and videos of one tried unsuccessfully to get into our truck cab. We called the landlord and told him then it happened on Wednesday morning we got up and saw a mother bear and 3 cubs and the mother had ripped oour truck tonneau trying to gain entry, again we called and reported it to the landlord and informed him we were leaving 3 days early, we never ask for any payment for damages because that's what our insurance is for however we did ask for the 3 day refund which he flatly refused!!! We did not follow every departure step as we very hurriedly gathered our things and left before the bear could do more damages. The Chalet itself was fine but take a warning In Advance, keep an eye on your children and property as it's on you.

Alpine Chalet

First I want to start with the positives. Steve is an excellent host. His communication is better than any house we’ve ever stayed at. The location is perfect! Close to Gatlinburg but secluded and quiet, nestled in the mountains. There is a house next door but we barely saw the people who stayed there. Coffee on the upstairs deck every morning was a highlight. And we saw bears…a mama and her 3 cubs. I do think there is some room for improvement here. We stayed in August. The humidity level downstairs in the bedrooms was awful! And there’s only 1 small dehumidifier, which we ran non-stop. It didn’t help. All of our clothes smelled musty when we unpacked at home. There are a lot of appliances in the kitchen, but not enough pots and pans. I struggled to cook dinner for 3 people. And the pots and pans that were there desperately needed replaced. I understand that this is a rental and people don’t take care of pots and pans at a rental, but this should be taken into account. Also, the fireplace smell upstairs is pretty intense. It seems like it needs cleaned out. This place has a lot of potential but needs some TLC.

We enjoyed hosting Angela, a nice guest. First off, we study our reviews very closely, and use them as a tool to improve. Based on Angela's comments about the cookware, we have replaced all of our cookware with a stainless set. Thanks Angela. This home is located in the Southern Appalachian Mountains, which can be subtropical in the summertime. The humidity in these mountains is high in the summer. We do provide a dehumidifier to knock that humidity down. Our fireplace is serviced every year. But fireplaces will always smell like fireplaces. It looks like the reason that Angela noticed the smell more was because she had the flu open, which was drawing in air from the outside into the home through the fireplace. Closing the flu reduces the smell considerably. We wish Angela well !
