View of the big Atlantic

The location of the house was great. It's in a tiny town on the north shore of the island with a wonderful view of the ocean. Easy access to most of the places you would want to experience.The house was clean, spacious and adequate. The only two issues with us was the very uncomfortable mattresses and the poor sewer function which caused some odor. Keep in mind, it may be difficult to correspond with the owner on VRBO since he answers questions in Portuguese and on the phone at the island due to his broken english.

Vivenda muito agradável e sossegada

No geral gostamos muito da nossa estadia. A localização é um bocadinho longe do centro e de alguns dos principais a visitar mas o sítio mais longe onde fomos demorou cerca de 1h de carro o que se faz perfeitamente bem pois as vistas da ilha fazem com que uma hora pareçam 10min. O local é muito sossegado e muito bom para descansar e acordar a ver o mar é incrível. Contactar com o anfitrião não foi muito fácil pela aplicação. Recomendo que contactem via telefone e aí sim conseguimos falar com ele. A única queixa que temos foi o facto de um dia termos reparado que o anfitrião esteve dentro da casa sem nós ter avisado de nada. De resto tudo muito bom. Se voltar, com certeza pensarei em ficar na vivenda novamente ☺️

Pretty and cozy

We had a nice stay in the house. The house itself could do with some new utilities, but overall a very nice place to stay with every night a perfect Sunset.

Mooiste plek op dit prachtige eiland

Het is een prachtig huis in het leuke dorp Achada. Je loopt links en rechts naar de zee. Het huis is compleet alleen jammer dat er schimmel aanwezig is.

Perfect Island Retreat !

Amazing property and Host- we were going there thinking we would explore all the islands - but this property is Soo beautiful and peaceful that we decided to stay and recharge ourselves - only taking day trips around the island. Horacio and His family greeted us - what an amazing gesture and welcomed us and patiently explained the property and what we could expect on our trip. The house is just beautiful - exactly what the photos show and more - immaculately clean - views are out of this world. The back patio goes right down to the Atlantic - sunsets are stunning !!! Neighborhood is so, so quiet and safe - rooms are pitch black at night and zero noise - so we slept better than we ever have - there is a market right in the development - so we got all our snacks and needs for meal prep right there -all food is local and organic and super cheap - such an amazing place and people - we cannot wait to return !!

Good location, problems with mould

Horacio is a good host who takes care of his guests. The equipment with things you need is mediocre. Various kitchen utensils (e.g. a long kitchen knife, frying pan) were missing. We only got a hairdryer from our neighbours in the other apartment towards the end of our stay. All in all, however, these are small things that the host would certainly have tried to remedy, provided we had asked him about them every time we needed to. Our biggest problem was the smell of mould that was prevalent in the bedrooms. The rooms should be renovated properly and not just painted superficially. We did not use the wardrobes because of the musty smell. Anyway we enjoyed the time on Sao Miguel. It is a very special and lovely Island with many places to go and many things to discover.

Great view for pleasant stay

An amazing couple of days in Achada near Nordeste. The communication was seamless and the house surrender our expectation. The main Sao Miguel sites are closed with the highway. A very warm welcome was given to us from the property at our arrival. We recommend!

Serenity with an Ocean View

This is a lovely home, owned by a warm and generous family. You will enjoy this home if you are looking for a serene place to greet each day and relax every evening, after exploring the beauty of Sao Miguel. The kitchen is well stocked and can seat 6 comfortably around its family table. There is a TV, but we were too busy planning our next day's adventure or relaxing on the veranda to turn it on. This home is in a quiet seaside town, a good 20-minute drive from the city of Nordeste. There are several restaurants in the next town over, but this home is best for those who aren't looking for a lot of small town bustle. Instead, enjoy the church bells, the magnificent sunsets, and the comfort of a lovely home with a magnificent view.
