The host communicated very well. Easy check-in process. Easy access to building and apartment using cell phone. Entrance to apartment is directly across of The David. It is pandimonium in front of the building. Have your email open to press access when you are at front door.Three bedrooms. First had good shower but it is small. Second big bedroom very, tub only with shower wand. Lots of space in bathroom and a washer that worked well.Third bedroom upstairs. Ceiling is low but shower works well. All the beds were large but a bit on the hard side. Despite that and proximity ro the David. We slept so well. Tons of towels provided by the host.Good size main room. A bit dated but we enjoyed spending time in there. Kitchen is well stocked. Fridge and freezer.Apartment is on the 4th floor (ground plus floors 1-3). 49 steps from the street.Great breakfast spot nearby on the corner to the right out the front door. We ate there every morning pastries and coffee. To the left , at the of the block, is a good sandwich spot. Same direction as sandwich spot, around the corner is a Tram you can catch at the train station (T2) and back. Do it!We would definitely stay there again.

Great place

The location was wonderful but it did not have a dryer as listed. The upstairs room is not for tall people. To check in and checkout process was perfect.

Apt across from The David

Place looks exactly like photos. As stated in the description there are many steps and no elevator. While noisy during the day because it is located across the street from the Accademia, it is very quiet at night.

Place was wonderful and quiet, exactly as described. HOWEVER. We arrived at 2100 hours, the unlock button on the website and the phone number did not work so unable to access the apartment common area and stairs to apartment. I called the listed number for help and was told this sometimes happens. I was told someone would arrive in 15 to 20 minutes. I made two more calls and each time the response was 20 more minutes. At 1 hour wait a lovely lady arrived and let us in and assured we were able to access the apartment door at the top of the stairs. I tried to communicate with the owner/contact person about the issue and was ghosted. After 26 hours of travel this was not a great experience and I would recommend booking a place that has a physical key in a lock box to get in.

Loved this apartment. Lots of room. Across the street from the David Museum so it’s busy in the street there but quiet once the museum closes. Walking distance to all the attractions and train station. Lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. We found the beds very hard if you like your bed hard it’s fine but we were uncomfortable. Maybe a mattress topper would help. The pillows were very hard as well. Liked that there was a washer but no dryer but there is a drying rack. Be aware there is no elevator and this apartment is at the top floor. There are 6 flights of stairs with 11 stairs per flight. I just want people to be aware. It’s a bit of a climb with suitcases but okay if you have small ones and a little bit of a struggle when you come home at night after a full day of walking. Overall I would definitely stay there again.

Pros and Cons in Central Florence

I am not a complainer. Given that this property was more or less as presented, in an old building and in an old part of town, I wasn't too bothered by a number of minor inconveniences: the 45 steps up to the apartment; the stairway badly in need of cleaning and fresh paint; the noisy and somewhat gritty location; the one hot bedroom with no AC; even the occasional roach. And we appreciated that two of the three ensuite bathrooms were bright and modern, if small. However, what I CAN'T accept is being lied to. After arriving at check-in time to find the apartment had not been cleaned (apparently a staffing / sickness issue), the host assured us that two new cleaners would be there promptly to finish the job. One came, and did NOT finish the job: The main ensuite was left with the previous guests' towels, and the floors had not been washed. After explaining this to the host, he again promised that a new crew would be in to re-do the entire cleaning the next day. Despite our follow-up request, we were ghosted; no reply or cleaners came. We were thus left with a large bag of the previous guests' dirty linens in the main bedroom closet for the duration of our stay - although a clean bag of towels was dropped off in the front hall - and a feeling of sub-standard cleanliness. My point is this: A VRBO is not just passive income; it's a business that must be maintained and managed to your guests' satisfaction and the expectations you set. In our case, the host dropped the ball.

Apartment Review

We really enjoyed our stay at the apartment there were five adults and the three bedrooms and three full bathrooms worked out very well. The location is excellent and an easy walk to all the major attractions and restaurants in central Florence. There was a small grocery store almost right next door and a number of places to pick up your morning espresso very close by.The check in process was a little inconvenient as you had to go to a separate location to pick up the keys then drop them off when you check-out. The apartment was very well stocked and had everything you needed if you wanted to prepare meals.The only negative was there was a sewer smell from two of the toilets. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.
