My husband and I stayed here with our two teenagers. The location was excellent - just a five minute drive from the Arroyo Grande village yet the property was very private, rustic and peaceful. It's also just a short drive from Pismo Beach and San Luis Obispo. The wine tasting in the area was fantastic! There are two good wineries right in the AG village, Timbre and Phantom Rivers.
This is not a pretentious home - it doesn't have every latest upgrade. But it is tastefully furnished and felt very homey. It is functional and comfortable and had everything we needed, including little extras - soap, shampoo, spices, etc, even marshmallows for roasting! The music and winetasting room is the highlight of the house - it is a beautiful, elegant space. Opening the front and back doors of this room cooled the house off in a jiffy with fresh air from the sea. There are two available bedrooms (including a Master bedroom/bath). My daughter slept in a rollaway in the living room and this suited her fine. All the linens were new and high quality.
Our favorite spot was the lovely serene backyard. It is set up very simply but it feels like a sanctuary. There are bird feeders that attract all these lovely little birds. The jacuzzi sits nearby, a bbq grill, and a fire pit (firewood included!) for cool evenings. It is very relaxing and my husband and I sat out there every evening with a glass of wine.
I definitely would recommend this house, especially if you want some bucolic isolation while still being conveniently close to restaurants and the beach. I think it would be really ideal for two couples.
