When Peter and I found Casa Celestiale, we knew it was the perfect place to get away from the bustle of city life - somewhere to truly relax as a family and together with friends. The peace and tranquility of the old house up in the hills, we delighted in the way in which old Italian owner had renovated the place from a ruin over 20 years ago. The old tobacco barn and bocce court added character and fun to the garden and the wonderful old olive grove of over 120 trees provides us with our very own olive oil. The wild woods and valleys that surround the house are fantastic - the spring and summer months are filled with fabulous orchids and wild flowers, the yellow broom in May is spectacular. Autumn brings rich red and yellow colours and woodland harvests of mushrooms and truffles and the winter wide blue skies and crispy days. Wildlife is abundant - boar, deer, badgers, hares, porcupines and even wolves... the bird life is diverse with goldfinches, hoopoos, owls and migrants like swallow and colourful rainbow bee eaters in summer.
From the natural world to the cultural feast that is found in all the surrounding towns, it's a constant pleasure to be able to return here again and again and make new discoveries.
