Wake up to panoramic sea views in The Plaice, recently converted from a café, it has now been transformed into a wonderful holiday property. Taking full advantage of its location, the unrivalled stunning sea and beach views provide an ever-changing backdrop to your holiday that will not easily be forgotten.

Situated a few steps above the Blue Flag beach, entrance is via the patio with seating. The Front Door leads to: open plan: Lounge/Kitchen/Dining room: large picture windows with fantastic sea views, comfortable sofas, TV with DVD player, dining table seating six, games table with table tennis, air hockey and pool. Kitchen: gas hob, electric double oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher. Doors to: Double bedroom with kingsize bed (can be made into twin beds – please advise if required upon booking), TV. Double bedroom two with kingsize bed (also can be made into twin beds), TV. Bedroom three, twin bedroom with 2 single beds, TV and ensuite shower-room with washbasin and WC. All three bedrooms have sea views. Family Bathroom: Bath with shower, washbasin and WC.
Amenities: Bed linen and towels, WiFi, travel cot and high chair provided (please bring own cot bedding), 2 well behaved pets permitted at £20.00 per week (puppies not permitted), Located above the Offshore Café. Location: beach 25 metres, local shops, pubs and other amenities, 100 metres. National Rail and steam train stations, 10 minutes walk. Access is a few steps down from the public car park on Cliff Road or up from the East Promenade. A daily/weekly parking permit valid for use in all council North Norfolk car parks can be purchased from the machine or free parking is available on Cliff Road itself.

Another great stay

This was my third visit to the plaice. The location cannot be beaten . The view is amazing. This was the first visit in the winter months and very different to peak summer. The tide comes very close with large waves ( we were there in the stormy week at the end of November) it was fabulous to watch. The property was lovely and warm to hunker down in when the weather was less than favourable. The property is a little tierd and could do with a spruce up but it doesn't take away from the experience. The town has a great deal of independent shops that sells everything you can think of . Lots of eateries and pubs full of friendly people. I have absolutely no doubt we will book again for next year. The dog loves it too !

Very thoughtful host

The location is outstanding! The apartment is spacious, comfortable, and you name it, it is there: Games, Playing cards, Books, DVDs, Needlework kit, Dog treats, Nappies etc. The showers are superb,great pressure and temperature. The only slight niggle, we had a few nights in due to the weather and the TV could be a little bigger and have better sound.

Amazing beach front accommodation

We had a very relaxing family holiday at The Plaice. The views are outstanding and the property is only a short walk from shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. The property has everything you need for a comfortable stay and the kitchen area was very well equipped. It was lovely to get to sleep at night with the sound of the waves.

Nice accommodation with fantastic views

The Plaice is a great place to stay with amazing views of the beach and sea. The accommodation is good with everything you might need. The pool / table tennis / air hockey table was a hit with the teenagers. Outside space is limited, but a nice place to sit. On nice days there are a lot of people walking past the gate on their way to and from the car park. Parking is in the public long stay car park which is just a few steps away. A weekly ticket is good value and we never had a problem finding a space. We had a great holiday and would definitely visit again.

Well needed break - couldn’t have been any better 10 stars!

I was meant to be in USA for my 60th, but our Sons health dictated a location near to certain hospitals. I am so pleased with being able to stay in ‘The Plaice’. Location couldn’t be any closer to the beach. Views from the bedrooms and lounge were perfect. We were lucky to have nice weather, but wouldn’t have cared if the weather was bad. I had family visit for my day, and the games table went down a treat. We did have a problem with a leak, but Caretaker Sam and Owner dealt with it promptly. Everything was there that you needed, so well thought out - down to needle and cotton! Bath sheets could be bigger, but won’t stop me booking again. Thank you x

Another lovely week

This is the second time we have stayed here . The location and view could not be any better . This is why we returned . Lots of people do pass right by your door as its on the steps from the long stay car park but we didn't find this an issue at all . Everyone is fascinated by the building as it used to be a cafe/bar. I would however say it is getting tired. The mattresses and bed linen are old. The towels had seen better days. There's no carpet anywhere . Hard floor tiles and laminate in the bedroom. So coming out the bathroom with no mats in the bedroom etc . One big downside is no outdoor tap . You come back from the beach covered in sand and have no way of washing it off so you end up trailing into the accommodation and washing it down the shower/bath . The shower kept backing up with sludge and sand from previous occupants. The windows are also dirty we asked for them to be cleaned prior to our arrival this time and the housekeeper did her best but I couldn't believe they are not professionally cleaned regularly being right by the sea and above a cafe . The frames outside were green. The outside area is also tired now. Saying that the view and location is so fantastic I would go again .

Our third stay!!!

Lovely location, beautiful views, great cottage as you are right on the seafront. Lots to do locally too. Would highly recommend - we will be going back for a fourth time next year!!!

Great location, apartment was exactly what we expected.

The Plaice is really conveniently located to the Cliifs Road Car Park, halfway down the stairs to the beach; very convenient. The apartment itself has probably the best and closest view of the beach there is, and slept us all comfortably in really good beds. The facilities were excellent; kitchen, bathroom and shower room, living space, games table all good. Two minor niggles; the towels were on the small side, and the TV is definitely too small; I had to set the wi-fi up on it when we first arrived. We will return! Many thanks

Fab holiday, whatever the weather

We love this holiday apartment for its amazing location. It's a treat to be able to view the sunrise from 2 bedroom windows and sunset from the living room and terrace. It's well equipped (although the tv isn't great) with all you could need. 2 minute walk into the sea, a short stroll to shops, pubs and restaurants and easy access to the coastal path.

Just what I wanted

All I wanted was to be able to see and hear the sea. There were lots of places to get take away food at excellent value and great taste ect. Only problem being disabled hell of a job to get in or out of property.

Amazing location

You really can't fault the location. Amazing panoramic views of the sea and it is just a few steps down to the beach. The proximity to the town centre and convenient parking is a massive bonus. Shops, restaurants and other facilities are just a couple of minutes walk away. The accomodation is simple yet has everything you need. Bedrooms are compact, but big enough. The main appeal however is the large lounge/dining area which is where you'll want to spend most of your time. The games table (pool, air hockey, table tennis) was appreciated by our children! The kitchen is small but we'll equipped. Our only issue was the cleanliness. The bath and shower rooms would've benefitted from a good scrub. Something that's easy to solve and I'm sure that this will be addressed in future. That aside, we had a lovely time and I would recommend it to others. The owner was also very helpful and responsive to my questions.

Great location

Perfect location and well provisioned. Some fixtures and fittings a little 'tired', but everything provided that you could need, including binoculars and beach toys. Beds are firm, which didn't suit us all, but the sound of the sea in the beach lulled all of us to sleep. Handy for everything in Sheringham, which has loads to do and a lovely atmosphere.

Wish we were still there

Apart from the beds which were very firm our stay at the plaice was amazing beautiful views & the sun sets were awesome.We will definitely go back there time & time again it’s now my favourite place to stay in Sheringham
