Amazing experience in a great location

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights. The property is in a perfect location. Approx 15 minutes away from the main square, a perfect distance away from all the noise and crowds. Tons of cafes around and great dinner places ranging in price. The home itself is quite spacious. The host is absolutely wonderful as well.

Amazing place

We had a perfect experience here. Everything was clean, orderly, functional and location was perfect for us. We enjoyed being out of the tussle and bustle and convenient to the bus station and water taxis. Check in and out was super easy. The host was helpful and informative. Thank you for an awesome time in your city!

Venice trip

Very comfortable accommodations, kitchen was very nicely equipped. Location was central, but quiet at night. Very safe neighborhood.

Perfect location

We were greeted at the bus station and escorted the short walk to the apartment . There is a locked outside gate then a shared front entrance and finally the apartments own front door so a very safe apartment. We were given 2 sets of keys which is good. The location was excellent and we enjoyed strolling around the area and eating in the restaurants and pastry shops . Local supermarkets were also of an easy walking distance. The apartment had metal shutters for the windows which you could fully close making the bedroom very dark for sleeping. The apartment was mostly very quiet each day and evening however one evening the upstairs neighbours did have loud music. The apartment had most things we needed and the shower had good hot water. The main negative for us was the very uncomfortable mattress on the bed, it was lumpy and you could feel the springs which led to poor sleeping. If the mattress had been better I would have awarded 4 stars for the property, so the mattress I suggest should be replaced. Another slight negative was the disappointing outdoor space it was very small, not private and felt like a prison yard as it was surrounded by wire fencing . I had originally booked this property because it had outside space, now I know why it has no photographs of this. The disappointing outdoor space could be an issue if outdoor space is a big consideration to you. overall We did enjoy our stay in the apartment and would definitely consider it again if the mattress was replaced and we were visiting at a time we didnt need a garden. The location I would say is a major plus point for the property. There is even a Gondola stop on the canal outside, which we did make use of.

Good location only but anything else

We are two well traveled matured women, very clean and respectful. We spent 9 nights in that apartment that could sleep 4 people: Malcanton del Gaffaro Apartment in Dorsoduro It has 1 bedroom and a living-room with a sofa-bed. Pictures aren't depicting the reality. Very basic apartment. Nothing more. During our visit in Italy it was cold and we had to find out (in the hard way) that this apartment didn't have any heat. According to the owner, heat was turned off by the city and he didn't want to provide us even with a heater. We were leaving the apartment at 9am to visit the city and return at 10pm. So, being out the entire day, we were returning into a cold apartment. The basic toiletries weren't even basic. The only towels provided for 2 people looked like rags that you wash the floors with. Disgusting. We have asked Giovanna ( the owner's partner) to replace them and nothing. She did't even bother to accommodate us with a minimal request which was very basic. I don't know in which world she lives, however I wouldn't even use those towels to clean my floors. Again disgusting. Twice, the circuit breaker tripped (2nd time late night) because that particular apartment had a 2watts electrical panel, according to Giovanna's explanation, and she was not very happy that we have called her boyfriend (a nice person otherwise) to come and reinstate the electricity. They were dinning out. I wasn't expecting a 5 star apartment, however given the pictures and reviews, we were happy with our finding. At our arrival and only after 1 day, we were VERY disappointed. According to my evaluation always, the cleaning wasn't thoroughly done after each rental. And, not to mention the neighbors above us (students) VERY noisy. If you care where you slips and about clean bed sheets and towels, I wouldn't recommend this property. You can find for the same value or a few more $$ better places.

Great apartment. Giovanna was an excellent host and very welcoming. The apartment is better than the pictures make out, lots of space, very comfortable and with a lovely little enclosed outdoor space to enjoy a morning espresso! Easily walkable to any sights, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend!

Idéalement situé

Super accueil de l'hôte. Elle nous as attendu jusqu'à 23h30 à cause du retard de notre avion. Elle a pris le temps de nous faire la visite et de nous conseiller les restaurants et les lieux à visiter avec une carte. Nous aurions juste apprécié de savoir à l'avance qu'il y avait une taxe 25€ pour une arrivée après 20h30 et de 40€ après 23h. Le tout en espece. Heureusement que nous avions la monnaie. Rien n'étais indiqué dans l'annonce. Le logement est parfait. Idéalement situé pour visiter venise. Pour arriver et repartir prendre le bus. Bien équipé. La fibre pour internet au débit. Juste parfait. Nous le conseillerons a nos amis.

Roma CON - mattress hard, cold in evening, confusion on how to heat, no bowls soup or cereal, microwave needs instructions, kitchen garbage bin lever doesn’t work, opening utensil door pulls open fridge door; other cabinet doors out of whack; shower: plexiglass cracked, tile joints moldy, curtain ineffective (water escapes), drain clogged, shower floor slippery, nowhere to put soap or shampoo; bathroom door doesn’t shut, lacking details on garbage/recycling

Grand appartement idéalement situé

Je conseille cet appartement car il est près de la gare (5' à pieds) et proche du vaporetto (5'). Il est propre et spacieux. Étant dans une courette il est silencieux et très calme. L'accueil est chaleureux. La cuisine est un peu rudimentaire mais suffisante.

L'appartement est calme et propre. Il est situé dans un quartier très sympathique, près de la gare routière (ce qui est très pratique pour l'arrivée et le départ). L'arrêt de vaporetto du Grand Canal est à quelques minutes. Pour les marcheurs et les marcheuses, tout est faisable à pied. La literie est bonne. Cet appartement est tout à fait adapté pour un séjour à Venise.

Great apartment

Excellent location. Was met on arrival. Apartment was clean and spacious. Wifi was patchy, but did connect. This was our first stop in Italy and it made for a great start. Was very informative, and helped out with great tips and where to go to eat etc.

Appartement agréable , moderne ,situé dans centre

quartier très central , acceuil agréable ,efficace . Appartement agréable , spacieux meublé avec goût , moderne . Problème de bruit du voisin de l'appartement au-dessus quelques soirs , semblait déplacer tous ces meubles vers minuit . Sauf ce problème de bruit, qui pourrait être reglé par le proprietaire , nous avons été très satisfaits de notre location .

Highlight of vacation

We loved this apartment so much we thought we could even imagine living there. We may have gotten the pressure washer out to the "porch" but the whole place was fabulous. Living in Florida made us think that the builders here in FL should have considered the blinds and shutters that were built-in. The kitchen seemed to be where we hung out but it was so relaxing, location, location, etc. - But best of all was Luca who stood in for Mario and Giovanna and who was a joy to meet and conversation was buono. Hope we get to come back - and will recommend to anyone that asks us where to stay. Venice is beautiful, exciting and full of emotion. Whitney and Susan Morgan
