Coleridge Cottage - a cottage that sleeps 5 guests in 3 bedrooms

Built in 1880, this traditional Lakeland cottage was originally constructed to house teachers in the old school (now the Rawnsley Centre) opposite. Retaining many original features, and simple stylish decoration, this centrally located house has views of Skiddaw and Latrigg to the front, and a magnificent mountain vista to the rear. The property is a mere two minutes' walk to the heart of Keswick.

The ground floor, slate-floored throughout, comprises an entrance hallway, leading into a bright and spacious open plan sitting room and dining room, with Smart TV/DVD/WiFi facilities, and a welcoming wood-burning stove.The dining room looks out onto the enclosed stone-walled yard, which is perfect to enjoy sunny breakfasts and barbecues.

The modern and well equipped slate floored kitchen features a gas hob with electric oven, dishwasher and microwave, and a downstairs cloakroom leading off the kitchen has a WC, sink and washing machine.

Upstairs the master bedroom, with views of Catbells and beyond, boasts a king-sized bed and plenty of storage space.

A second double room features twin beds and similarly dramatic views.

The third bedroom, looking out onto Latrigg, has a single/small double bed. All bedrooms include cool cotton linens and towels.

The luxury wood paneled shower room comprises a large walk-in shower, WC and hand basin.

Additionally there is an outbuilding to the rear where bicycles may be securely stored (please bring own lock) and shared garden. Parking permit is provided for car park opposite.

Excellent property

The cottage was clean and spacious. Really good location, close to Keswick centre and other amenities. We had a lovely stay. We really like renting through Keswick Cottages because their staff are friendly and helpful. Their communication was excellent. We highly recommend this property and will be returning next year .... and hopefully for many years to come!

A great property close to all amenities.

This was our first stay at Coleridge cottage and it won't be our last. All the bedrooms were a good size and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious with a great shower and plenty of hot water. The kitchen was really well equipped with everything you could need. The living and dining rooms were perfect for relaxing after a day walking the fells as was the sunny outside area. The weather was perfect but there were plenty of books and boardgames for when the weather isn't so good. We also appreciated the doggy welcome pack. The communication before our arrival and the information provided by the agency was first class. We can highly recommend Coleridge cottage.

Great place

Great place to stay. Very clean and spacious. Bike shed is a bonus and parking near by. On the main road but frosted front window so still feels private.

Lovely property

A great stay again, really lovely property. The kitchen is well appointed with good utensils etc. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Always happy to stay here.

great central location

Very spacious cottage. Well maintained. On the main street but not at all noisy. Very convenient for central Keswick facilities, 23 min walk. Would stay again for sure and Keswick cottage staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Parking nearby was easy.

Coleridge Cottage.

A lovely cottage in a handy location close to the town centre. Parking 300 yards away so difficult to unload and load up as double yellow lines outside. Internally very nice and a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. All in all highly recommended but be aware of the parking issue.

Perfect location

2nd stay in this lovely house. The location on the very edge of town is perfect for a diverse group , everyone can go out of the front door and do whatever they want then meet up later for a meal at the massive dining table. Great to get a parking permit as we hardly used the car.

Wonderful few days away in a perfect location.

Wonderful few days away in Coleridge Cottage. Location was perfect with parking just a short walk away. I didn’t use the car once while here. An abundance of walks right from the doorstep. Although the property is on a main road into Keswick it was so quiet and peaceful. Just a five minute stroll into town centre. Everything about the property was excellent except that with one shower and toilet upstairs and one toilet downstairs, it might have been a bit difficult with a family or group staying there. Communication with Keswick Cottages was excellent. All information given before and after stay made it very easy. I couldn’t get TV to work (followed instructions) but didn’t contact anyone as I decided to enjoy the peace and quiet! Overall a fantastic stay in a great location.

Lovely cottage

Very comfortable cottage. very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Good location and handy for shops, pubs etc bit of a pain not having on site parking and easy access to unload and load luggage. Great service from Keswick Cottages, as ever!

Coleridge cottage

We had a lovely stay. Perfect location. Great size. Nice and homely. Beds comfy. Kitchen Well equipped. We had doggy welcome packs and an essentials kit. Milk coffee etc. very useful arriving late. Close parking and bonus car park across the way. Downsides…. The shower didn’t drain great and the overall cleanliness could have been better. For us a grassed area would have been handy for fussy dogs but we just went over the road. None of the minuses would stop us from re booking. Keswick cottages communication was great. Emails easy to understand and replied to quickly. Over all a nice week spent with family in the place we love. Thank you

Great location

Just on the edge of town, close to the shops and pubs. Parking a little walk away in town but not a huge issue until it rains! House was spotless. Customer service quick and always friendly.

Another lovely week in Keswick at Coleridge Cottage which is so convenient for annual Convention. Cottage showing signs of needing some tlc but this did not change our opinion.
