Buckland Abbey, The Garden House, and Burrator Reservoir are all close by. Day trips to Salcombe and Newton Ferrers, a lovely riverbank village in South Devon, are easy to come by. Plymouth's naval harbour, noted for its nautical heritage and the historic Barbican neighbourhood, with its narrow, cobblestone alleyways dotted with a superb range of restaurants and bars, is also conveniently accessible.
