Calf How Lodge

Calf How Lodge was new in 2012 and sleeps up to four guests in light, warm & spacious comfort with exceptional views of Blencathra , High Rigg & Skiddaw. There is a spacious lounge & kitchen / diner. There is an en-suit double bedroom, a second twin bedroom with a separate bathroom. Bio mass central heating keep the lodge warm and snug whatever the weather.
All bedding, electric, heating, broadband (light use only ) & towels included.
Inside you have a 42" free view tv and radio. Coal effect electric stove in lounge. Kitchen with integrated dishwasher, tall fridge freezer, electric double oven & gas hob & microwave. The en-suit has a walk in shower & the bathroom a shower over the full sized bath. A mobile phone signal is available in the lodge as is a basic wireless broadband connection,
From the front and side take in views of fields often with sheep & lambs and cows with calves.
The site is level with parking beside the lodge for two cars. Four steps to entrance.
Walks, easy or difficult, start from your door. We are idealy located for touring most of the Lake District being 4 miles South from Keswick, 18 from Penrith & M6, 13 from Ambleside & 25 to Windermere. As on site oweners we will have your property ready and can help with any questions you may have.

Unfortunately we didn't make our trip as our elderly dog was ill and ultimately had to be put to sleep just 3 days prior to our intended stay. The host was very kind and gave us nearly a full refund. The location looks perfect, so we will definitely rebook.

Fabulous! A beautiful area with beautiful views and beautiful weather! The lodge had everything you needed. The hosts were were welcoming and informative. The carrot cake was delicious. Will recommend it to everyone. Highlight for me was a daily visit from Fly who reminded me of my old collie Tasha.Very best wishes to you and your family.

Superb property in stunning location.

First impression on arrival was how perfect the location was. The property did not disappoint either, it was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. Overall we had a very comfortable week here and were perfectly located for all the places we wanted to visit. I could not fault this property and would highly recommend it.

Wonderful

We had a wonderful, peaceful stay. No light or noise pollution, beautiful views, yet local amenities no more than 5-10 mins away by car. Gillian was a wonderful host - nothing was too much trouble and the lodge had everything you could possibly think of or need, and was spotless - a real home from home. Spoilt for choice on nearby walks for all abilities. Thank you - we'll be back!

Bram Crag Bliss

Stayed at Bram Cragg Accommodation for 5 nights . Had a really enjoyably time. The area was beautiful and so too was the Accommodation . Would recommend anyone to visit . We will definitely be visiting again.

The Big Country

My partner and I are lucky to live in North Yorkshire, and are hardly deprived of beautiful scenery.But nothing could have prepared me for the astonishing variety and grandeur of the Lake District. Our holiday accommodation- inside, a luxurious bungalow- placed us right in the scenic heart of the region. Enormous, grandiose mountains in every direction. Wildlife, sheep, a heron, 2 beautiful semi retired border collies. A wonderful, restful bathe in nature’s beauty.

Christmas Stay

Another great relaxing stay this time over Christmas. Everything you need is in the propery. Great beds towels and cooking facilities. Plenty of hot water washing facilities and very peaceful and quiet.Near to Keswick for lovely walks and shopping.

Amazing place to stay

Gill and Duncan are the best, the accommodation is modern, super clean, comfortable and has everything you need for a self catering accommodation Views are spectacular and a perfect distance for lots to do walks and activities will definitely be coming back this our 4th stay here and as always absolutely perfect

Lake District gettaway

Lovely and very well equipped lodge in a stunning location, well located for Keswick and other surrounding areas. Walking routes direct from the lodge. Fantastic host had thought of everything you might need. Highly recommended!

Gillian & Duncan were the perfect hosts, key on the table. So we could enter our lodge without disturbing anyone at any time, although we had a fair walk to the bus stop each day, there was plenty of walking from our lodge, brilliantly clean and starter pack so didn’t have to rush out for shopping. Lovely week in the Lakes

The lodge was spacious, comfortable and just what we needed for a week in the Lakes. The view down the valley from the living room window was wonderful. The owners were very hospitable and helpful with advice on walks. We think the listing didn't do it justice!

Unbelievable location, fantastic lodge

What an amazing place - we had a fantastic time at Calf How Lodge. The setting is absolutely picture perfect with panoramic views. The lodge was immaculately clean, well-appointed, rooms were a decent size, loads of entertainment, walks from the lodge itself, friendly owners, just so many superlatives. I don't often leave reviews but this place is so extremely good I need to say thank you and recommend it!

Ideal for nature lovers and "eye-people"

We spent a week in this pleasant and tastefully decorated cottage and felt very comfortable. The welcome was very friendly and we received many useful tips. The cottage was as described and was very clean, spacious and equipped with everything you need as a self-caterer. The view from the living room with its large windows on the valley and the sheep pasture was very nice and could be enjoyed with a cup of tea even in the rain. We recommend the cottage 100 percent!

Wir sind schon weit herumgekommen und haben viele Ferienunterkünfte genutzt. Diese Lodge erhält aufgrund ihrer Ausstattung und dem gefelgtem Zustand aller Einrichtungsgegenstände und Utensilien eine 9,5 auf einer Skala von 1 bis 10. Der halbe Prozentpunkt fehlt wegen einem ab und zu schwächelnden Internet. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und empfehlen die Lodge auch bei gehobenen Ansprüchen wärmstens weiter.

A hidden gem

Beautiful lodge in an equally beautiful location. A tranquil spot with stunning views. Everything upon arrival was spotless. The lodge was veery well equipped with essentials that are needed and we were greeted with the most amazing carrot cake. We almost want to keep this place a secret so we can book again without being disappointed (if it’s fully booked)!
