We had an overall positive stay at this home. The house itself has a great layout and offers plenty of space, with four beds—two of which are kid-friendly singles. It’s set far back from the road, which made for a peaceful and private setting. We enjoyed the outdoor shower after the beach.
That said, there are a few things future guests should be aware of. The driveway is very easy to miss—it looks like you’re turning into the woods, and we drove past it multiple times. It’s a long, single-lane dirt driveway that was heavily overgrown during our visit. Vegetation on both sides rubbed against our vehicle, the grass in the center was tall, and the yard itself had not been mowed, with grass around 8–10 inches high. The privacy of the wooded setting is great, but it also meant there were lots of mosquitoes, especially around dusk, which made it tough to enjoy time outside. The outdoor shower was nice, but it is located behind the home, and we had to walk through the tall grass to get to it.
Inside, the house was fairly clean, but could definitely benefit from more attention to detail. The main floor bathroom was the biggest issue—the bottom of the shower curtain, which was originally white, was stained brown and appeared to be very old. The floor mats in that bathroom were also dirty, and a clean towel placed over them was stained brown by morning from the moisture. Not all the lights worked—particularly the pendant lights over the kitchen island—and the WiFi and TVs were so slow they were nearly unusable.
There’s a single security camera facing the driveway and front deck. The landscaping around the deck was also quite overgrown, and walking between the deck and driveway meant brushing up against bushes. We also noticed cobwebs on the upper windows, which could use a little cleaning.
Overall, the house itself has a lot of potential and we still enjoyed our time. With a bit more maintenance and attention to cleanliness, this could be a fantastic stay.
