'Coup de Coeur’ - available to rent for self catering holidays, is ideal for families or groups of friends who want to relax, enjoy outdoor activities, boating and sightseeing as well as have all amenities on their doorstep.

This 19th century property with annex has been renovated 2012 and 2021 to today's living standards yet kept its original style with elegant décor throughout the house.

Grand and spacious rooms, fully equipped designer kitchen, elegant separate dining room and an office. Modern amenities like Fibre, Sky TV and European Satellite Orange TV are provided.

EXCLUSIVE use of the enclosed south facing garden with PRIVATE POOL . The summer kitchen (BBQ), the terrace and the Patio invite out-door living.

The property is situated in the attractive market town of Bram which lies along the Canal du Midi and has many shops, restaurants, bars, bakeries, butchers etc. as well as a weekly farmers market on Wednesday morning.

The UNESCO World heritage sites Canal du Midi and Carcassonne Cite are only 5 min and 15 mins from the house. Other attractions such the beautiful medival market town of Mirepoix, Cathar Castles, the Mediterranean coast, the Pyrenées and Andorra with its ski resorts are all within 1 hour of the house!

Many kids attractions including; Safari Parc Australien (Carcassonne), Middle Age Museum (Carcassonne), Les Aigles du Lordat (Lordat) ect.

Outdoor activities; Trekking, hiking, climbing, boating on the Canal du Midi (Port de Bram), white water sports like rafting, canoeing, kayaking on the Aude River, Mountain bike / cycle touring and many water sports.

Bram has its own railway station which has very good connections throughout the day.

Accessibility; The closest airport to Bram is Carcassonne Airport (19 km /15mins) also worth considering are Toulouse Airport (80 km/40mins), Beziers Airport (122 km/70mins) or Perpignan Airport (134 km/70mins).

Lovely stay in Bram

Property is brilliantly located for local shops and amazing cafe. Well connected by the local station to Carcassonne airport and exploring southern France by rail and canal de Midi.Property was lovely, filled with gorgeous furniture. Courtyard garden and private pool were lovely.Petra and her husband were lovely and kept in contact via WhatsApp for check-in and recommendations.Will definitely look at returning.

Beautiful, classic French home with everything you need

The property was beautiful with everything needed for a comfortable stay with plenty of room. The hosts were incredibly friendly and were happy to help out with advice, local tips etc. Recommended.

Extremely homely

Petra, the owner was lovely and very helpful, on hand for anything you needed. The house is so homely and everything you could possibly need is there. Being in the town of Bram was wonderful, step outside the back gate and you have all conveniences you could want for. The pool was a little cool for the little one (he was only 2 to be fair) but other than that, it was great, others said a bit small but for us it was perfect, the other two children was in it everyday and loved. Dining alfresco was perfect with a large table. All the rooms were comfortable. Would certainly book again.

Our multigenerational family stayed for 2 weeks at the property and had a brilliant time. Everyone agreed that it was a real home from home, there was everything that you could think of to enjoy the stay. Very well equipped kitchen and lots of lovely toys for the children including a cute childrens bedroom complete with its own TV. As mentioned in other reviews the pool is not huge, but it is a perfect size for the children to play in and for adults to cool off. Very handy for the train and the shops, but once you are in the garden it is a very secluded and private place to relax. Petra and her team were delightful and very responsive to any queries. Thoroughly recommend.

Très belle propriété

Superbe maison de maitre, parfaitement équipée et spacieuse. Literie très confortable, linge de maison et piscine à disposition.Accès direct au centre ville et au marché. Procédure d'accueil parfaite, de nombreuses infos et prospectus sur les visites possibles. L'une des façades donne sur rue passante un peu bruyante.

Parfait!

Nous avons passé un séjour parfait. Nos hôtes ont été très accueillants et ont pris soin de nous envoyer des activités à faire tous les jours. La maison est très bien aménagée, très bien située. Pas de problème de parking. Tous les commerces sont à proximité.

Maison de charme

Nous avons étés accueillis dans cette magnifique demeure. Tout était parfait. Piscine chauffée, plein de chambres avec salles de bains privatives, grand salon séjour avec télé connectée, super cuisine tout confort avec frigo US, extérieur immense avec belle table pour 14 personnes et barbecue à gaz neuf. On s'est régalé. Rien à dire à part bravo, et encore merci.

Un voyage hors du temps

Nous avons séjourné en Aout 2021 dans cette demeure de caractère ou tout était parfait, nous avons apprécié la décoration soignée qui donne une âme à cette bâtisse. Que ce soit à l'arrivée avec Murielle et sa bonne humeur, ou avec Petra qui distille ses bons conseils tout au long du séjour, la communication fut très bonne. Il ne manquait rien au niveau confort, et plein de petites attentions sont à disposition des serviettes pour la piscine en passant pas les épices et le frigo américain pour les glaçons ! La maison est parfaitement située à 2 pas de toutes les commodités et à 20mn de Carcassonne. Nos ados ont profités des attractions locales Télé ski, karting etc. Pour conclure, nous avons passé un très bon séjour.

Great house / Great owners/ Small pool

We enjoyed our stay. House is beautifull and owners coudn't be nicer. The swiming pool is much smaller that it looks on picture. (It is really small). The villlage is nothing great. But still we enjoyed a lot our stay, and Loves the house. I recommend it

Heureux séjour à neuf !

Ce fut un vrai plaisir de séjourner une semaine dans cette demeure pleine de charme et dans un village chaleureux par son environnement et par ses habitants. Les quelques bramais rencontrés ont été accueillants et touchants. Nous étions une famille de neuf adultes. Il y avait suffisamment d’espace pour ne pas se sentir l’un sur l’autre. La maison est fonctionnelle, avec de grandes pièces. Il y a tout pour ne pas s’ennuyer (télévision toutes fonctions, jeux de société, piscine que nous aurions aimé un peu plus grande) ! Nous avons particulièrement apprécié le salon et les deux canapés fort confortables ! Nous reviendrons très certainement, car il reste tant de choses à découvrir dans cette région culturellement riche et si belle !

Nous avons loué ce logement avec 8 amis. La maison est très spacieuse et agréable. Nous avons été très bien accueilli. Petra reste disponible pour répondre aux questions des locataires et fourni de bons conseils sur les visites et restaurants des alentours. Nous recommandons vivement !

Très belle maison, spacieuse et chaleureuse. La maison était joliment décorée pour Noël. Literie très confortable et cuisine bien équipée. Le grand plus est la situation dans le village, à pied des commerces et du marché. Ainsi que des promenades. Hôte à l'écoute et très réactif et sympathique.

Beautiful Bram

Authentic French home, lovingly renovated & thoughtfully furnished. Kitchen was fully equipped & beds wonderfully comfortable. Outside space provides a shady place to eat and the pool was superb & maintained daily.

A brilliant week in Bram.

First things first - the house is delightful and Petra and Paul could not be more helpful, friendly and obliging. "Coup de Coeur " is beautifully appointed, sheer hard work resulting in a residence which manages to be both comfortable and stylish. This is an old property which has been updated in all the important areas - plumbing, white goods, etc - yet retains every bit of its hard-won character. We hired a car - as suggested - which gave us easy access to Toulouse (50 mins, easy parking at Jeanne d'Arc) and Carcassone (20 mins) which will the targets for most visitors. Alternatively, the house is a four minute walk from the train station which serves both the above cities and much, much more. We cycled to Carcassonne and then got the train back, for instance. Oh, and the bike hire is reasonable, very helpful and friendly and a couple of hundred metres away. Eating. Whilst Bram itself does not have a huge array of restaurants, you're only a 20 -odd minute walk from l'Isle aux Oiseaux, a charming restaurant on the banks of the Canal du Midi. Further up towards Carcassonne is la Rive-Belle at l'écluse de Herminis, a quite pricey but tremendous lunch stop. Petra was also fantastic in recommending places to drive to, though I'll confess we often ate out at lunchtimes (Toulouse, Carcassonne, Mirepoix - all great for this) and then made use of the excellent kitchen at the property in the evening. 350g entrecotes aren't necessary, but hey...:-) Practicalities are fine; there's a useful Spar shop open from 0830 'till 1930 about fifty metres away and the Carrefour's about a five minute drive. Places to see I'd recommend: Les Abbatoirs modern art in Toulouse; Les Grottes de Limousis; of course Carcassone la Cité. We didn't make it to Castelnudary until our last day and it's a place that begs for another trip. Great lunch by the river at Brasserie la Cybele - another Petra recommendation as I remember. But I'll tell you what - just sitting still in this fabulous property isn't a bad idea either. Great work guys. Alex

Absolutely amazing- beautiful house that completely met all our needs... and more

It was a pleasure to stay in such a gorgeous property. The area is great to explore with activities from Canyoning, trawling local markets, lazing and paddle boarding on the lake and exploring historical towns. We were three generations aged between 23 and 78 and we all had a fab holiday. We cooked most evenings and enjoyed local produce sitting outside and dipping in and out of the pool. Wonderful days and perfect evenings.

Beautiful villa in a lovely village

Petra was a wonderful host even collected some of our party from the airport and helped us in every way she could. House was very clean had all utensils and BBQ outside. Pool was also very clean. Bram is a small village but has plenty of amenities including spar and local butcher and two bakeries.

A fabulous property with everything you could want.

What can we say but we 'Loved it' Family holiday for 14. We had 4 teenagers and younger children who had a fabulous time in the pool every day. Petra and Paul are wonderful hosts and offer lots of information about the local area. Situated right in the village but when you are in the garden you don't realise how close you are. The garden is beautiful with lovely shaded areas and plenty of sun loungers. We ate outside every day. The house is well equipped and it is even nicer than the pictures. There is a good market on the Wednesday morning and a fabulous boulangerie round the corner which the children went to every day. You can manage without a car, as the shops are on the doorstep and the supermarket is only a short cycle ride away. Carcassone is a short journey on the train but is probably cheaper to book the train in advance. There is a great water park where the children and some adults did wake boarding which is about a 25 minute walk, great fun for all involved. Will hopefully return someday as we enjoyed it so much.

Charmante villa met karakter!

Een mooi verzorgd herenhuis met enorm veel karakter! Volledig uitgeruste keuken en een mooie indeling van de kamers. Tevens ook zeer gezellige en charmante gastvrouw en gastheer! Ideaal huis voor meedere gezinnen met kinderen. Ook een mooie ligging, kortbij de nodige winkels en restaurants. Een echte aanrader!!!

Petra and Paul have jointly spent over 45 years in Global Business Travel all over the world. In 2009, whilst based in Hong Kong, we purchased our house in Bram and spent 2 years restoring the property to modern standards and converting it to a family home.
Having taken early retirement and experiencing Global travel as tourists, we decided to rent out 'Coup de Coeur'.
With Petra being a Swiss and Paul an English national, we share our non traveling time between the UK, Switzerland and France.
