Restored Farmhouse/Barn with private pool and outdoor eating areas set in 3 acres of land, and bordered by a trout stream and with a mountain backdrop.
Close to the beautiful mediaeval town of Barga, with its wide away of good restaurants and bars, gelaterias, regular live music, and markets under the stars.

Set in the charming Garfagnana valley, by the country road leading to Barga (2.2km), it is exposed to an enchanting view over the terraced vineyards, olive groves and fruit trees, onto the beautiful Apuane marble mountains beyond.

The stream La Corsonna borders the garden and one can actually walk into the friendly medieval market town of Barga, 20 minutes cross country, across the fields and over the foot bridge on the stream.

This location is ideal for relaxing walks to nearby hamlets and for delightful views of this unspoilt valley. Well suited for day visits to: Lucca, Pisa, Florence, the coast.

This 3 bedroom 2 bathroom property sleeping 6 plus 1 is a restored farmhouse and retains many traditional features, including traditional flooring, chestnut windows, beamed ceilings.

The property is situated in beautiful terraced gardens with gorgeous views. There is a wonderful terrace for dining together alfresco, and other terraces/relaxing areas for reading a book away from the rest of your group. There is so much outdoor space...

The accommodation was just as described in the listing. The house had a rustic and cozy charm. We especially enjoyed the pool area with it's beautiful view of the mountains. The location was perfect for visiting both small towns and larger cities on day trips.

Beautiful place

We had a great time in this lovely little house with the family (2 adults, 2 kids). Amazing view, especially from the great pool, which we enjoyed very much! Comfortable bedrooms and very friendly and accommodating owners!

I Loved our stay!

Great location, very family friendly home, they even had a smart TV for movies at night! Owners are super awesome, we had a hard time finding the house but they stuck with us until we found it! Thank you so much for a great stay!

Wonderful stay in Barga..

What a magical place. Beautiful gardens and views, especially from the pool. 2 terraces which were lovely for meal times. You can walk to Barga it's nice but a bit of a trek. A car is a must imho. Check in/out was very easy with Loretta who is lovely and knows the area well. Only slight downside for us is the Kitchen/diner doesn't have the wonderful views and much natural light. Overall we loved the house and will hopefully visit again!

Beautiful setting

Great property with three good size bedrooms (one downstairs). Dinning table in the kitchen and a choice of places to sit outside, outside areas have stunning views. The property and grounds need a little TLC, the grounds were a bit overgrown and the property could do with a little bit of money spent on it, in particular in the kitchen and bathrooms. Plus a thorough clean. However, it is a beautiful house in an amazing location

We had a lovely stay at Loretta and Benito's place. The house is in a marvellous setting with a fantastic view. The garden is terraced on several levels and holds olive and fruit trees. The pool is a few terraces down from the house, with plenty of space for the whole family. It is secluded with views over the mountains, is large enough to swim in, and the teenagers spend most of their time there. There are many places to relax, whether in the sun or shade, but we particularly enjoyed the outdoor dining area behind the kitchen. We spent every night there barbecuing, socialising, and watching the fireflies. You feel like you are dropped into nature in this house. The garden is a bit wild, and we spotted wild boars down by the river. There is the green valley below and the amazing view over the mountains. We made several hikes (I recommend the Komoot app!). You should not miss hiking in the Apuan Alps! I got the feeling of coming home to Granny‘s house. And I mean that in a good way - it's not fancy, but it feels like a place that someone has loved.

Prachtig gelegen huis met geweldig uitzicht, met name vanaf het zwembadje. Op 20-30 min lopen van het gezellige plaatsje Barga met veel restaurantjes. Verschillende terrassen zodat je altijd in de zon of schaduw kan eten/borrelen. Praktische keuken. Grote bank in kleine woonkamer maar we hebben voornamelijk buiten geleefd.bin en uitchecken ging heel makkelijk

Wir haben diesen August unseren Sommerurlaub mit 2 Familien (4 Erwachsene & 3 Kinder/Teens) in diesem tollen Haus in Barga verbracht. Das Haus hatte alles, was es bedurfte, um einen entspannten Urlaubsalltag zu verbringen. Das Anwesen ist ein wenig verwinkelt und verspielt, aber gerade das macht es aus. In der näheren Umgebung kann man toll Wandern und der kleine Ort Barga ist auch ganz nett. Wir empfehlen diese Location auf jeden Fall weiter.

Wunderschönes Grundstück mit Panorama-Pool und Fluss

Wir haben sehr schöne zehn Tage in Barga verbracht, in denen wir vor allem den Außenbereich mit Sitzgelegenheiten, Pool und Fluss genossen. Hier kann man auch eine kleine Flusswanderung zu einem Wasserfall machen. Das Haus selber ist zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Etwas weniger Möbel würden es etwas gemütlicher machen.

Etwas abgelegenes Haus mit wunderschönem Garten, Pool und Ausblick

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt hier sehr genossen! Der Pool und der Garten waren großartig, auch wenn die Lage des Hauses etwas abgelegener war als vermutet, doch erreicht man mit dem Auto schnell Startpunkte für tolle Wanderungen in den Bergen. Die Mücken haben uns bisweilen das Leben schwer gemacht, auch tagsüber. Für Fußmärsche ins nahegelegene schöne Barga empfehlen wir unbedingt die über einen kleinen Umweg zu erreichende Fußgängerbrücke. Der Weg durch den Fluss war vor allem mit Kindern dann doch sehr abenteuerlich. Die Sauberkeit des Hauses ließ leider sehr zu wünschen übrig. Die Vermieter aber waren ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Fijn vakantiehuis met prachtig uitzicht op de bergen

Leuk huisje dat zijn charmes te danken heeft aan zijn prachtige uitzichten op de bergen. Heeft alles wat je nodig hebt voor een ontspannen vakantie. De eigenaar was heel vriendelijk en de communicatie verliep ook vlot.

propriété aux alentours de barga, charmant village point de vue de la propriété et de la piscine exceptionnel. verger dans la propriété, cour d'eau , végétation luxuriante... logement très fonctionnel, plusieurs terrasses avec barbecue. excellent accueil des propriétaires. tout est présent dans le logement pour effectuer un séjour sans souci. la piscine est vaste, idéalement située. pour ceux qui préfèrent bouger, point de départ pour de nombreuses excursions ( province de Lucques, Florence, Pise...) avec un guide très utile fourni par les propriétaires. permet également de découvrir la région moins connue du garfagnagna. en résumé excellentes prestations, séjour recommandé.

Ein gemütliches, vollständig und zweckmäßig ausgestattetes Haus mit Platz für zwei bis sechs Personen, ein riesiger, schöner Garten mit mehreren Terrassen und Sitzplätzen, ein großer Pool und vor allem eine super Lage mit toller Aussicht: ruhig, wunderschön, aber gut angebunden und nicht zu einsam.

Fantastic converted farmhouse in large terraced grounds

Stunningly located property with multiple terraces to sit out and enjoy open views of forests, mountains and the river. Beautiful pool to cool off after a day relaxing or exploring Barga and the local area. Birdsong in the morning and fireflies in the evening. Lovely agent/owner always ready to help and provide advice on restaurants and local villages to visit. Highly recommended.

Tolles Feriendomizil mit schöner Umgebung

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Woche in Loretta‘s und Benito‘s Ferienhaus. Die beiden waren die perfekten Gastgeber. Die Lage ist die toll. Die Aussicht wunderschön. Der Ort Barga hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Zum Strand ist es ca. 1 Stunde Fahrt. Der Ort Lucca ist absolut zu empfehlen und sehr schön. Wir waren 4 Erwachsene und drei kleine Kinder. Das Haus war bestens für uns geeignet. Sehr gut waren die kleinen Tore ums Haus herum, die man verriegeln kann, so dass die Kids nicht an den Pool oder auf die Straße rennen konnten. Was uns natürlich ein gutes Gefühl an Sicherheit gegeben hat. Der Pool war natürlich mit Abstand das Highlight des Hauses.

Wunderschönes Grundstück, mit duftenden Pflanzen. Der Pool ist ein Traum! Er wurde während unserem Aufenthalt regelmässig gereinigt. Am Abend genossen die Kinder einen kurzen Spaziergang durch den Garten bis zum Bach, darüber, auf den Weg bis zur Brücke und via Strasse zurück zum Haus. Loretta ist sehr freundlich. In Barga gibt es beim Parkplatz herrliches Gebäck und guten Kaffe.

Wonderful stay. Stunning location. Wonderful views. Swimming pool looked a lot nicer than in photos. Lot of steps but good exercise. Lovely house - could live there 😍. Met Loretta who too is a lovely lady.

Beautiful location

The views at this property from the terrace, bedrooms and pool are absolutely stunning. Not ideal for elderly/disabled and young children due to distance to parking/road and deep steps around the property. The pool was a good size and surround fauna and flora beautiful. The hosts were very welcoming and helpful. We made some wonderful family memories.

Terrific views and gardens

Lovely views, great garden , very nice hosts. Although there is a half hour, quite steep walk through woods into Barga, it is slightly far off from the town centre to be walking up for dinner every night. But then, if you weren't in the location Santa Maria is in, you wouldn't get the fantastic views!
