The house is absolutely spotless! I've been visiting the northern lower peninsula for the past 25 years at least once and sometimes twice per year. I've stayed in scores of different cottages in Glen Arbor, Empire, Crystal Lake, Suttons Bay, Traverse City and Bellaire and this might be the nicest cottage I've stayed in. The online photos don't do it justice. So many of these rental cottages have the cheapest possible furnishings/fixtures, but not this one. Everything is top notch. I strongly suspect that this is not just a rental but that the owners themselves spend a significant amount of time there because the house feels like a primary residence.

Absolutely perfect. My family has been vacationing in northern MI for 25 years, but this was the first time we’d stayed in Glen Arbor. This beautiful home fit our needs to a tee. Spacious and cozy. Roomy cottage in the woods with all the comforts of home. Nicely furnished with lots of collectables reminding you that you are in a unique place up North. We had a great time and look forward to coming back.

Beautiful!

We stayed for a long weekend in the fall. The house was so beautifully decorated, well cared for, clean, and comfortable. It's the perfect place to stay no matter the weather - very spacious and the surrounding area is wooded and peaceful yet still walking distance to town.

Perfect in every way!

The Northerness cottage was so nice. Spacious, on a quiet street within an easy stroll to Cherry Republic, Crystal River outfitters, shops, and an array of cafe choices. Walk to the beach of Lake Michigan or drive five minutes to Glen Haven for beautiful sand and gentle surf. The numerous and large rooms, dens, and patios offered comfortable space inside, and especially outdoors. The fire pit and outdoor shower were an extra treat. The affection of its owners shone in every detail of the property.

A wonderful stay at Northerness!

My family and I stayed at Northerness this past week and it was wonderful! Lots of sleeping space, a great patio, an outdoor shower, lots of parking space, beach towels and chairs for our use, and a short walk to the town of Glen Arbor and the beach! We enjoyed our time and highly recommend! Thank you!

Enjoyable Family Vacation

We rented this property in 2018 and enjoyed it so much we rented it again in July 2024 for a family vacation. The property is beautiful, surrounded by lots of trees and saw several deer walking past during our stay. There was plenty of room for our family of 8 and roasting marshmallows around the firepit at night was one of our grandkids favorite activities. I learned when we arrived that they have made an addition to the house which was a great area for the family to gather. I hope they update the pictures on the site to showcase the beautiful updates they made! Working with Rick has always been easy and he answered any questions we had quickly. Our family is already looking forward to going back for another family vacation soon. I'd highly recommend this property if you're considering a trip to Glen Arbor!

Great Location!

The property is really terrific. Plenty of room for the 8 of us, both indoors and out. Enjoy all of our meals on the porch. Love the living room addition and the upgraded outdoor shower. Walk to everything in Glen Arbor.

Beautiful cozy home a stones throw from downtown. Host provides everything you need to enjoy your stay. Really enjoyed relaxing on the spacious deck. We canoed the beautiful Crystal river, shopped downtown, and had a great time at Art's Tavern and Boondocks.

Glorious DT Glen Arbor in a lovely home

Clean and loaded with all the extras to make your stay perfect! Loved the petoskey stone / up north decor, too.The location was great for biking, beaching, dune climbing, kayaking, and more. Highly recommend this gem of a home.

While living in Boston we chose this area for our destination wedding to share our love for Michigan with family and friends from all over. Spending summer vacations and raising 2 children on Lake Michigan we finally found the perfect slice of heaven in Glen Arbor and called it Northeness.
