Hi Robert, Sorry to hear about the family of skunks that entered the house, definitely a first for us! Thank goodness you alerted us to the disconnected dryer hose, totally fixed and thank you so much for taking the time to give us your helpful suggestions, we sincerely appreciate it :) And thank you for being such a great sport about all of it! :)

We have several security protocols in place, and the area itself very safe and as you can tell by all of our reviews, people feel safe and return back to our house all the time :) I have two AirB&Bs, one in the United States (California) and one in Costa Rica, I use the exact same security protocols in both, we have a home security alarm system, exterior video cameras, I even purchased door sensors in case people wanted to use those as well, especially for the door that goes out to the pool (for little ones). We also provide safes in every room and door locks for people to just enjoy and relax :) We built the house from scratch, lived in it with our little daughters, and have vacation rented the house for over five years now, and the only two negative incidents, we have had was both people had left doors and/ or windows completely opened and left the house, not securing doors, windows, alarms and/ or safes. I think it's fair, after reading this review, is to tell all the findings. We are very protective of our guests and always try to advocate on their behalf, we believed Shawn at this word, called the police to do a police report.... Here is what was found: Unfortunately when trying to research to help them with the VRBO claim, the police found the window open and the claim could not continue. What I had found out later with our own research to try and help the guests in any way we could was: ADT Security sent me the log in code, the report showed they did not alarm the house when they left (like they said in the review), and when researching the video from the Ring doorbell cam, they admitted to not alarming the house. Unfortunately it also displayed them yelling the lockbox code to each other outside the front of the house (which we then had to switch the lockbox code immediately). Also when the police came, they searched everywhere for a sign of a break-in but unfortunately found the point of entry where the bedrooms window wide open. The safes we provide are from a reliable, legitimate company used worldwide, First Alert. My heart aches this happened, but I'm disappointed with the way this review was presented. We take extra care in all that we do to provide a fun, safe environment, the choices made in this circumstance were unfortunate.
