Tranquil 1 bedroom retreat with walk in shower The former stables and store has been tastefully updated to provide modern accommodation in a perfect rural setting, . Nestled in between Torquay and Teignmouth, The Stables @ Rosemary Cottage is a one double bedroom holiday accommodation that's both cosy and enormously inviting. The stable has been renovated specifically as a holiday retreat with everything you need for a great Devon getaway.

The clever open plan layout of this property means that everything is on hand from the smart kitchen*, the dining area or watching TV from the comfy sofa . The master bedroom has a welcoming kingsize bed and all the storage space (wardrobe/ chest of drawers, TV) you will need to keep your swimming costume, hiking clothes or relaxing 'comfy holiday clothes'.
A smart modern shower room has been provided - what better way to wind down after a busy (or lazy day) than with a hot shower.

You have your own outside seating area with a table and chairs that make it a tempting place to pass a couple of hours. This is also a fine spot from which to soak up the serene valley views under the warm summer sun or enjoy a glass of something on those balmy evenings.

Parking is on a private drive at the side of the cottage. Given the rural location, free wi-fi.

A 15 minute short walk away is the highly rated Church House Inn village pub in the centre of one of South Devon's most picturesque villages of Stokeinteignhead, with its thatched cottages and rural atmosphere. Opposite the pub is the volunteer run village shop to enable you to stock up on essential supplies and local produce, or the Thatched Tavern pub at Maidencombe along with the beach, cafe and paddleboard hire.
There are also many outdoor activities within the area including horse riding, golf and kayaking to name a few.

The stable is situated in an ideal location, whether you wish to make a short trip to the seaside or make it an active day on the South West Coast Path. You are just a few miles away from the spectacular views and walks on Dartmoor. For those who want some retail therapy you are close to the historic city of Exeter, the market town of Newton Abbot and the famous Torquay English Riviera and harbour.

Immaculately clean

Such a lovely stay. The stable was immaculately clean and clear with where to park. The owner was friendly and recommended couple of nice places to go. Would not hesitate to anyone who is thinking of staying to stay at The Stable.

Wunderfull days in a lovely and cosy cottage.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The surrounding is beautiful and perfect for excursions in South Devon and the eastern part of Cornwall. Neil and Nikky are perfect landlords. We like to thank them very much.

Amazing Night Stay

The Stables was an excellent place to stay. A good layout, very clean, good sized bed and a big walk in shower. Great views, especially when relaxing on the evening with glass of wine/beer on the patio area. Great location for walks along the coast and visiting other area's. Spotless accommodation in spotless surroundings. Nice and private and a great base to explore the coastline. Local pub food was good. Would recommend and would stay again.

A lovely spot

The property was bright and comfortable, very clean and perfectly maintained. The location was quiet and unspoilt with great views and, while off the beaten track, had a village shop and pub within reasonable walking distance and easy access to the main road when venturing further.

The Stables is an excellent property in a beautiful part of Devon. Everything we wished for and more. Spotlessly clean, brilliant facilities and the bonus of a really friendly owner and his cute little dog. Couldn’t fault anything about the place.

Relaxing break

Friendly, helpful owner. Stunning views, quiet but easy access to tourist areas. Great communication, lovely accommodation. We fell in love with Charlie, the sweetest, most friendly dog. Thank you for a great holiday, Neil and Charlie. It was everything we hoped for and more.

Wonderful holiday

Lovely clean equipped with good quality equipment. Bed so soft and comfortable didn't want to get out of it . Host such a lovely friendly helpful guy so nice to have actually met a host who is willing to chat and help even advising of places to visit .best holiday ever

Superb in every aspect

This holiday let is fantastic, fixtures and fitting excellent. There is not one thing I can fault about the Stables at all, the views are fantastic to add to the experience. Peace and quite in the Devon countryside , country pubs in stunning surroundings. We could not find a better Host than “Neil ,Nicky and Charlie the dog” We will definitely be returning to The Stables very soon. We arrived as guests and left as good friends for life, a hidden gem!

The perfect Break.

We both enjoyed our stay at the stables. The view was stunning and the location perfect for exploring the coastal paths and beach.Neil the host was very friendly and knowledgeable about the places of interest in the area and made the stay perfect.We will be back again.

Peaceful

The stables were beautiful inside and out. It was so quiet and hubby and I were abit worried but omg it was perfect. The views were gorgeous and surrounding areas had plenty of bars, cafes etc that were lovely. Neil the owner was very friendly as was little Charlie (the dog). Overall a beautiful place to stay and was exactly what we needed 🙂

Beautiful location .

Beautifully designed and amazing location. A box if chocolates on arrival which was really nice gesture. The stables are immaculately clean and the views are just super. Neil very friendly and welcoming. Only down side is the bed it is so uncomfortable and slightly smaller than a double..we kept falling off , we hardly slept and left a night early to check into a b&b after 2 nights of no sleep as we felt so unwell due to serious long term medical conditions, i couldnt bare another night. Its a shame because it was the only down side, the stables have been made so spaciously and lovely the only thing that let it down was the bed. A much bigger more comfortable bed is a must. Overall apart from te bed it's a beautiful stay .

5 Star Accommodation excellent location and extremely helpful host

We needed to get away and relax and that is exactly what we got at the stables. The accommodation had everything you could want and tastefully done and very comfortable a home from home, the outside space was all we needed to have a BBQ then sit and enjoy our food all undercover so if the weather was not as you hoped nothing dampened the enjoyment. The sun was at the front from mid day so also the opportunity to catch a tan without the crowds on the beach, the nearest of which was Maidencombe quiet bay with coffee shop ideal close to two very good pubs serving God food. We will most deffinatly be returning soon. Thank you Niel for being so welcoming and helpful see you again soon.

Back again….

This was our 2nd stay at the Stables. The property is well presented and clean and tidy with great views. It’s situated in a lovely village with a great pub, shop and beach within walking distance, Neil is a very attentive host and looked after us really well to ensure we had a great stay. We weren’t disappointed and will definitely be back again!
