Cherry Tree cottage

Cherry Tree Cottage is cosy and clean with a beautiful garden and amazingly comfortable beds. It's very well equipped and proved to be a wonderful "home from home" for four weeks while we needed to be close to our newly-arrived grandson. Jacqui is a friendly and helpful host and her great attention to detail ensures that all guests have a very enjoyable stay. We particularly appreciated the very detailed tourist information and walking guides. The cottage is very well located with lovely walks - and pubs! - on the doorstep and easy access to Exeter, Dartmoor and the beaches of South Devon. We'll be back!

Exeter University Short Stay

Jacqui was lovely and even accommodated our early arrival so that we could drop off bags and head off to the Rugby match. Lovely cottage well situated for easy access to Exeter and surrounding areas.

We really enjoyed our stay. The welcoming scones and clotted cream were great, the valuable information they provided before and after we arrived. The cottage was very comfortable and the nearby pub and store were valuable. I would recommend to anyone. Nice central location for exploring.

Lovely cottage in Devon

We enjoyed our second stay in Cherry tree cottage. It is very cosy with lots of character. It is clean,comfortable and well equipped, with everything you need. Although we weren't lucky with the weather this time, the garden is lovely to sit out in when it's nice. The host made us welcome, with a cream tea and milk in the fridge. The location is good with easy access to many places to visit.

A delightful cottage in a quiet charming village of Kennford. Very comfy cottage, excellent linens, great kitchen. Our hostess Jacki was very helpful and the check in process was smooth and easy. Would highly recommend this rental.

Amazing house and location

This is a lovely cottage located in a fantastic village with direct link to A38 but you feel a million miles away from a minor route. The house wax clean, well equipped, felt homely with a touch of luxury. Beds were very comfortable, with second bedroom suitable for a child or adult. Lovely garden for sitting out. Host was helpful and easy to contact. The village has a great local shop and lovely pub with very friendly locals and staff and amazing food - you must try. We will stay again!

Wir haben einen 4 Tage Stop in Jaquis Cherry Tree Cottage verbracht. Es war ein herzliches Willkommen mit vorbereiteten Cream Tea und einer kleinen „Schnitzeljagd“ bis wir den Schlüsselkasten anhand der Beschreibungen gefunden haben. Es gab direkt in der Nachbarschaft einen kleinen „Tante Emma Laden“ sowie ein Pub, somit war das“ Überleben“ gesichert. Von der Ausgangslage konnten wir die Umgebung über Tagesausflüge gut erkunden. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder in das gut ausgestattete und liebevoll eingerichtete Cottage.

Absolutely delightful!

I stayed here with my sister as we were going to Toby's Garden Festival at Powderham Castle. It was an ideal location and even though it was on the main road through the village it was still very quiet. It was handy having the local shop very nearby. The cottage had everything we needed and is very well laid out.Jacqui had left a cream tea for us to have on arrival - delicious! It was lovely to be able to sit out in the garden in the evening too. We met Jacqui when we collected the key and throughout our stay she was easy to contact and she made sure everything was ok for us. Jacqui and Paul had put together a box full of information about places to visit and walks to do - and there are plenty - which was really useful. We used one of the walk books and did a delightful walk around Lustleigh - highly recommend. We hope to return as this was such a gem. We would certainly recommend it.

Perfect base to explore south Devon

Both my friend and I felt very comfortable at Cherry Tree Cottage. It had everything we needed (as described in the listing) and made the perfect base for exploring the area. Jacqui and Paul are clearly very experienced hosts who've thought of every detail. I'm very happy with this find on VRBO and would highly recommend it.

Ideal for location and comfort

Just what we needed - a comfortable little cottage with two bedrooms, all clean, very handy for a short drive to Exeter. Parking right outside the cottage wasn't possible as there are many cars parked nearby, but we managed to find a space close by. Thanks for the flapjacks!

Tout simplement parfait !

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour dans ce superbe cottage très bien situé, hyper confortable et très bien équipé : tout ce dont on pourrait avoir besoin s'y trouve ! Nous ne manquerons pas d'y revenir et remercions à nouveau Jacqui et Paul qui font tout leur possible pour rendre le séjour de leurs hôtes le plus agréable possible (mention spéciale aux scones et aux flapjaps ;-)

A great cottage

A lovely well thought out cottage that was designed with a visitor in mind. Well equipped but no clutter. The owner was really prompt at responding to my queries and always answered in full. As a single traveller I felt safe in the approach and once inside the property.

Lovely cottage

Cherry Tree cottage is lovely! Jacqui and Paul were such wonderful hosts and provided a cozy place to stay. They were so helpful with their knowledge of local places of interest for hiking, biking, and eating and so gracious in making me feel well taken care of. Really enjoyed getting to know them and the area.

Lovely Cottage

The cottage is well equipped and in a small village about 4 miles form Exeter. The bathroom had been renewed and was stunning. Jacqui was really helpful and gave us lots of tips which were invaluable. The only slightly negative thing that we thought was that the kitchen is a bit "tired" and could do with some renovation. Other than that, a very nice cottage.

Improvement needed.

It was a pleasant surprise to find the downstairs cloakroom. The dishwasher stank and it’s filter was full of waste food on arrival which I had to empty. The kitchen sink also stank with bits of food on the drain, the wooden surround was black mouldI feel no cleaning could have been carried out in these areas. There was a note to say that the sink overflow was blocked, why had it not been fixed. These finds did spoil our stay there as you wondered about the attention to detail.

Paul and I have been lucky enough to live in Devon for most of our lives. I have lived in Kennford for 13 years - we live together now - just up the road! I most recently worked as a PA and Paul is our sound Accountant! We love being outdoors exploring the countryside, either on foot or on our bikes, and know that we have the very best on our doorstep. The Kenn Valley is stunning and we regularly enjoy a bike ride along the Exe Estuary trail or escaping to Dartmoor National Park for a walk and a picnic (just 20 minutes away). The city of Exeter has a lovely feel and there is of course lots to see and do. We also love to pop down to Topsham (the old Port). We hope you will feel free to enjoy the many walks and cycle rides we have left in the comprehensive welcome/visitor information pack so that you make the very best of your stay (we have done your homework for you!)

We do love the village. It has everything we need - with a great local shop, some great pubs and a village bar, but at the same time we are just a 10 miles from the coast and 15 miles from Dartmoor. We will never tire of this area, so we have decided to stay put and buy a holiday home so that you can get a taste of the good life!

When we saw the cottage we fell in love with it as it is just so characterful, but immaculate. It has the most beautiful handmade staircase and we love the exposed beams. It is a perfect combination of old meets new - with the stylish shower room, inglenook fireplace and beautiful oak staircase.
