The property was in the perfect spot to walk everywhere!! We loved walking out the front door to find lots of restaurants, bars and shopping. The apartment was great for 5 people.

Amazing Location

The location could not have been more perfect for us - centrally located and walking distance from everything we wanted to do. And the owner was helpful and responsive when we had questions.The apartment itself felt run down - there was broken furniture, and space heaters that we couldn't get to work (it was very cold when we visited). The pictures made it seem like it would be a lot nicer.

Shorttrip with friends

Very good communication with the host. Excellent location in the middle of the Center of Madrid. The only thing to mention is the missing of daylight because most of the appt is in the Souterrain. One shower should be renewed. Would recommend this appt for a shorttrip.

This place was great. A few steps away from the San Miguel Market and Plaza Mayor. Tons of places to eat/drink within literally a couple minutes of walking. The host was kind enough to let us in a little before our check in. We had just arrived with 7 people and luggage so that was very appreciated. The apt had beds for 6 people plus a sofa bed. Downstairs was a full size bed and a single. Upstairs was a full size and single as well. The only complaint would be the 2 downstairs bedrooms were a little warm at night. Besides that it was a fine. The location makes up for it if you can deal with that.

Funky smell

The location was great. The host was easy to work with and made the check in really easy. There is a really bad smell in there like a cat litter box. I think it was from some construction down stairs. We finally got used to it but the first impression is not a good one. Bedding was clean but the floors weren’t. There are also bugs. Like ants that are all over the unit. The bug spray only slightly slowed them down. The location is a big bonus though. You basically have to take the good with the bad.

An enjoyable stay

We found this property to be exceptionally well-located in the heart of the city, making it easy to explore and enjoy the local attractions. The master bedroom is large and comfortable, and the living room is cozy and modern. However, there were a couple of drawbacks. The stove top coffee maker was not usable as it couldn’t be heated on the induction stove. Additionally, the rooms in the basement were quite humid, with some mold noticed in the shower, which was a bit concerning. Another thing to note is that the property has very few windows, which affected the natural lighting. Despite these issues, we had an enjoyable stay. The convenience of the location and the comfort of the main living areas were definite highlights.

Awful do not stay here. Unethical owner

This is the first negative review we have ever done. We could not stay due to the excessive amount of cleaning spray that was sprayed throughout the apartment. We arrived at 3 but they were still cleaning. There was no cross ventilation due to one tiny window so even with the door open for an hour we could not breathe the air as it was making us sick. The whole place felt unhealthy. The host did not come to check it out but agreed to refund all but one night’s payment so we rented another VRBO. The host reneged the next day. VRBO said they could not help even seeing the text chain from the host agreeing to the refund. They also didn’t refund the cleaning fee even though we didn’t stay. Unethical and horrible. We are considering small claims court for what was not provided.

We’re sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. However, we would like to clarify a few points. When you first raised your concern, you mentioned different reasons regarding the scent in the apartment. To address your concerns, we personally went to the property to check the situation, and we did not find any issue that would justify leaving the accommodation. Following this, we reached out to Vrbo for guidance, and they confirmed that, since there was no valid reason to vacate the property, we were not obligated to issue a refund. We take great pride in maintaining high standards, and we have never received complaints of this nature before. Our priority is always to provide the best experience for our guests

Very spacious and comfortable place in the center of everything in Madrid! The apartment had a working kitchen with large and spotless newer appliances, two sitting areas, 3 bedrooms and a washing machine with large drying rack. Each bedroom has its own heat/AC, and there was a portable heater upstairs which was critical as it was really cold out during our stay. This setup worked well for 4 adults, because everyone had their own space if needed, but could hang out in the upstairs living room as well. The location is central to Madrid, close to the palace and several plazas, and literally hundreds of options for food/gelato/shopping within a few minutes walk. It’s also on the ground floor, so no lugging your bags up 3 flights, etc. It was clean and the beds were comfortable, water tasted good and there was plenty of lighting. A few cons - the downstairs bathroom shower did not have a door or curtain, it’s just open to the common space in the hallway. The upstairs en suite bathroom has a door, shower was tiny but good water pressure and the window opened for venting. The front bedroom downstairs got a TON of noise from the street. The other two bedrooms were really quiet, though. There are no opening windows out to anything in the whole apartment. This was fine for us since we spent the entire day out exploring, but if you need a balcony for your coffee or like to people watch, you can’t do that here. For the price, though, this place was great!
