Once you go down a winding road through the hills you will arive at an old watchtower built in 1507. The whole little community has been revitalized and modernized while brilliantly keeping the essance of what it once was. The owner was in contact before we arrived, supplied directions, and met us there to show us around. Coffee, shampoo and soap for washing machine were all supplied.
Out of our many stays in Italy, this was our favorite. Its off the beaten path but well worth it. There is a small town about 6 km down the road and we went there to get house made pasta and ragu and a bottle of local lambrusco to bring home for dinner. They had a ton of pamphlets and information on local sights and places to eat there too. Again - it was our FAVORITE stay. We only stayed one night but wish we had stayed longer.
